I own a 2012 corvette grandsport purchased new. car has 12,635 miles in it. i was driving into town last night and head lights just shut off leaving me in complete darkness. i was coming into tuscaloosa and managed was fortunate to have enough area lighting to safely come to a stop and pull into a parking lot. i tried what i knew to try but lights would not come back on. i was able to hold the turn signal switch in the flash position to get high beams to work. i turned around and headed back home continuing to hold turn signal switch in flash position. unfortunately, i was blinding the oncoming traffic. i can't imagine what might've happened if i had been on a country road with no lightning. i've been reading about recall issues on earlier models of the c6 i've also read this could be a faulty relay problem. my car has low miles and less than 25% of those miles were night driving. car is garage kept and has never been driven in the rain so i know how well it has been taken care of. ...
I lost the driver side low beam headlight on my 2005 corvette while driving at night on the highway. this problem created the unsafe condition and triggered the high beam which obscure incoming vehicle and was a safety risk.
2005-2010 corvette c6 models have front headlight issue of stem and lens cracks
Driving to work (in the dark) the low beam headlights shut off. pulled the car over and turned the headlamp switch to on and they started working (was in auto sensor mode). next day when i was leaving the house i turned the headlamp switch on, headlights popped up but did not come on. i could turn them to high beam and they worked but not on low. after driving the car and switching back and forth from high to low beam several times, the low beams started working again.
I bought a 2005 chevy corvette convertible at a dealership in baton rouge louisiana named gerry lane chevrolet they told me everything worked on the car when i got the car in 2019 the car had over 40 problems that the head-up display doesn't work the headlight goes off sometimes comes on sometimes the cd player doesn't work the navigation screen doesn't work the speakers are sounding crack and does train sensor without they only fix the crank sensor and the cigarette lighter doesn't work and the convertible top doesn't want to go up and down sometime
My 2005 chevrolet corvette is having the same issues listed in campaign 10v172000 on 04/26/2010. yet when i enter my vin number it says no recalls. the "service active handling system" message appears with loss of the feature and loss of brakes lights. the brakes lights come on spontaneously while driving and turn off when the brakes are actually applied. obviously a dangerous situation. 02
I was driving on the freeway late at night, after driving for 25 minutes, and the road in front of me suddenly got dark. i thought that a freeway marker light had gone out, but after looking in front of me, i realized i had no headlights. i pulled off the freeway to a gas station and checked all my other lights, and my parking lights were working, my fog lights were working, my high beams were working, and my tail lights were still working. my headlights, or low beams, were the only thing that went out. i had to drive an hour and a half to reach my destination with my high beams on, which probably pissed off a lot of people on the freeway. when i reach my destination, i checked all the fuses for the low beams in the fuse box, and they were all good. i pulled the relay fuse out and then put it back, and the headlights were still not working. the next morning, i checked the lights again and tried all positions of the switch on my steering column, and the headlights worked. once i started driving the car the headlights quit working ...
The driver and passenger side main headlight assembly is a sealed unit and cannot be repaired. the seals in both units in my car are defective and that allows moisture and environmental contaminates to collect inside the unit and fog up the main lenses that the driving headlights project through. i cannot be taken apart and repaired. each assembly part costs over $1,200 plus labor. to fix both sides is $3,000. this is a safety issue. not only does it diffuse the light at night and not focus correctly down the highway, it also causes high degree of glare for drives approaching my car head on. i do not want to increase chances of a head on collision or crash due to poor visibility at night. this is a safety issue for me as well as approaching drivers. i called chevrolet to report and they refuse to help in any way. i also asked about assistance with paying the repair bill but they would not. on internet, there are many message boards discussing the same issues with other people's vehicles. the safety board should create a safety ...
