The radio/info screen comes in and out of service. usually accompanied by the sound of static thru the radio speaker. it also affect the heating and cooling unit of the vehicle. the "short" happens when the brake pedal, clutch, or turn signals are activated. the event can also occur randomly. the vehicle can be stationary, or in motion. it doesn't matter if it is city or highway driving. it acts like a short and is definitely not a fuse problem. more likely something in a relay or programming. it happens randomly, but the activation of the brakes, clutch, or turn signals can spark the problem. the info screen is an integral unit of the vehicle and it is tied into so many other functions of the car. there are numerous records of the problem on youtube and on chat lines in the computer. a potential "fix" shown on youtube did not correct the problem on my vehicle.
Interior lights stayed on and i star was contacted as i was afraid to drive with a light on and they stated that it's safe to drive. i drive to work and 5 miles from work the vehicle stalled while operating and the engine light comes on. i got the vehicle in december with 4 miles and onstar did a diagnostic and it states engine and transmission problems. i'm unnerved by the whole experience and now it is at the service department at gordon chevrolet while i await what's wrong with my car
Signal lights, safety hazard lights and the radio stopped working.
I own a 2011 camaro ss, i had 2 incidents , both times at a lunch break. whilie leaving work to go home for lunch , the first incident i went to make a left turn at approx. 15mph . as i began the left turn unknowingly my car shut off power steering locked up and i slammed into curb and ended up on the landscape. the second time the exact thing but at a higher speed aprox. 45mph.at the bottom of the vincent thomas bridge heading west as i approach to bear left to gaffey st my vehicle did the same exact thing, meaning that the engine shutdown and steering wheel locked sending me into a k rail., knocking me unconscious ,the vehicle stopped 150 ft after impact. my vehicle was totaled
While traveling, the radio suddenly made a loud pop noise and the information panel went out...information panel began flickering on and off, also affecting the ac/heat controls and when using the blinker, it wouldn't make a signal sound. the lack of blinker sound leads me to wonder if the blinkers even work when this happens. this problem randomly happens and when it does, it's very distracting and the loud pop noise is extremely upsetting. i have found on numerous forums that this seems to be a major issue with the chevy camaro and gm doesn't seem concerned. i believe this is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed. it first happened to my car on dec. 5, 2019 and has continued to randomly happen since.
Radio keeps going out randomly thus also affecting my turn signals, hazards, and ac/heating. my ac and other lights will start blinking and the radio will not turn back on unless i park and turn the car completely off. this has happened with many other camaros, this is a hazard and must be fixed.
During acceleration and deceleration, the 8-speed automatic transmissions seems to jump as if it is missing gears. this has been an ongoing issue for some months. the vehicle was purchased brand new in 2016 with only 12 miles. diagnostic testing has been performed and nothing has been found. however, this issue still persists. also, the backup camera, radio, and entire mylink system went out. after diagnostics, it was confirmed that the hmi module was bad--the car was not 3 years old at the time. unfortunately, this is a $1000 dealership repair ticket. gm has stated that there is nothing they can do. also, others in the dealership as well as outside licensed repair shops said they had the seen the same issue with the camaro.
Tl* the contact owns a 2019 chevrolet camaro. while driving approximately 80 mph, the engine suddenly stalled. the vehicle was towed to gillman chevrolet (1801 industrial way, san benito, tx) where it was diagnosed that the lifters inside the engine failed and the engine needed to be replaced. the engine was replaced and the failure was remedied. also, while the vehicle was in reverse, the backup camera would not display an image. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 1,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 chevrolet camaro. while driving, a popping noise was heard coming from the speakers, which caused the electrical system to fail. the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
As i'm driving at 55mph or higher, all of the sudden the car shuts off and comes right back on and all you see are all the dashboard lights turn on and off all at once which is scary because when that happens, you have no control of the car because once the car shuts off, for that one or two seconds it does this you have no control and the steering wheel locks on you. the car will also not allow you to press on the gas peddle to make the speed go up, at time when i depress the gas peddle, the car hesitates and does not want to accelerate and then all of the sudden it accelerates at a very high speed without you controlling it.
