Door handle on right rear dutch door of our 2000 astro van broke suddenly when trying to open door. while the dutch door feature is operationally very handy, the door design always had a flimsy feel to it - so we always used great care when opening and closing. after it broke, we found the nhtsa #634576 with similar complaints, so felt obligated to add to your list. *tr

Dt*: the contact stated the pin that holds the passenger side door fell out causing the door to fall off. the dealer has not been alerted. updated 9/28/2006 - *nm

After a rain or during washing water is leaking into the van, underlayment is wet, carpet is wet, and van is musty smelling. no one refered me to this website. *jb

I have a 2000 chev astro pass. van ls ext sport. both driver and passenger doors are separating from thier hinges. the adhesive is failing, and i and afraid the doors will fall off.*ak

The rear inside door handle broke off the door panel. consumer was unable to exit the vehicle from the inside. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak

The brakes went to the floor and after being pumped a few times actually slowed the vehicle down. this has happened a few times but unable to reproduce at dealership. this vehicle has been to shop too many times for many items including side door rattles, ignition problem with security feature, windshield ect. *la

Consumer noticed cracks in the frame, in the rear. making unsafe to drive the vehcile. dealer has been notified. please provide further information. nlm

While driving, vehicle will stall without warning, which causes vehicle to lose all power, consumer was unable to stop vehicle.*ak the dealer replaced a cracked door panel, the driver and passenger side arm rest goes down to far, dealer replaced both worn arm rests.*jb

Design of sliding door is not well done because door will not automatically lock into place, like in other van doors. contacted dealer. *akconsumer states; if parked on a hill front end down, door can close by itself without warning. also, vehicle experiences loss of braking power, traction, on wet/bumpy roads. *scc

Sliding door would close whenever parked on a decline, there is nothing to lock door in that situation. dealer notified, and informed consumer it cannot be fixed, and nothing will be done. *ak vehicle stalled intermittently hot or cold on very light acceleration from a stop, dealer could not find problem, service engine light also illuminated. rear liftgate hatch binded due to lack of lubrication. *slc

Sliding door hinges broke, causing door to be off track. dealer will repair vehicle.*ak

My problems are as follows: fuel injection system, side door aligment problems, van rattles, dashboard noise. *ak

Ant-lock brake system had to replaced. also, since purchase in may 2000, following components had to be replaced or repaired: lights on dashboard coming off and on/passenger side seatbelt tightened and won't release/driver's seat had loose bolts and moved/driver and passenger doors rattled/ mouldings inside fell off/passenger's window stuck/tv came on and off on its own while driving, replaced twice/interior lights stopped working when in park/ engine idled/ lights inside flickered/ fuel sender inoperative/ wires in ceiling rattling,air conditioner in rear not working/ replaced heater that did not work in rear, and passenger's airbag cover not flushing, and consumer worried it may deploy at any time. *ak
