In march2013 i almost had an accident because my brakes would not stop the vehicle, i swerved over to the side and hit the curb a bit. i bought the car in feb 2012. it always had the system balance light to come on so i decided to take it to see what was wrong with it. i took it to general motors in omha nebraksa 114th dodge street. they test drove it and said they did not find anything wrong with it except that i needed new rotors and brakes. i told them about this recall and how my brake problem falls into this and they said they looked up my vin number and that it was already fixed. i said well this needs to be done over because this could potentially could cause an accident. they explained that my brakes needed to be fixed. i disagree here is the recall infor which certainly is what is happening to my car. i don't even have to touch my brakes for the computer to take over the car and cause it to go off balance and cause swerving service brakes, hydraulic:antilock:control unit/module recall number: 04v151000 recall date: 03/29/2004 problem summary: on certain passenger vehicles equipped with all wheel drive, the antilock brake system (abs) may improperly temporarily isolate the driver from the foundation brake system for a maximum of 1.25 seconds. consequence: this can cause in an increase in braking distance, which could result in a crash. corrective action: dealers will reprogram the abs traction control system controller. owner notification began on may 10, 2004. owners should contact cadillac at 1-866-982-2339. the manufacturer first notified owners of this recall on 05/10/2004. this recall affects vehicles manufactured between 03/01/2003 and 01/31/2004. *tr

The brake booster supply hose degrades and falls off resulting in no power assist. this can happen with no prior warning and result in property damage and or bodily injury or death. this vehicle is a 2004 cadillac srx with a engine code 'a' but other models may be affected. *tr

My cadillac srx (purchased 4/2/2004, mileage 34,599) suffered a complete hydraulic brake failure. this occurred in a parking lot, at low speed and there were no injuries or damage. the car was towed to the dealer who repaired the brakes under warranty. the dealer stated that both hydraulic circuits had failed and the only braking was the parking brake. the dealer also stated that this was the first time he had seen this type of failure on this type of vehicle. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was parked in a lot, a fire erupted from the front under hood area without warning. bystanders alerted the fire department and the fire was extinguished. no one was injured. there was extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. the police were on the scene and a report was taken. the fire department determined the fire originated from the master cylinder and the engine compartment. the vehicle was towed to a dealer to await further inspection by the insurance adjustor and a factory representative. updated 9/5/2006 - prior tot he fire the consumer noticed that the power steering failed while making a right hand turn. the vehicle was parked when the smoke and flames appeared. the vehicle was deemed a total loss.*nm

dt: contact states while pulling into a parking space the brakes were being applied to stop and vehicle moved very slowly and then accelerated. *ak

Consumer's vehicle was traveling at 35 mph, when coming to a stop light, vehicle accelerated and struck the rear of another vehicle.*ak.....*ak the consumer attepted to apply the brakes, but the vehicle did not stop.

The consumer felt that the brake and gas pedal was designed too close together. the consumer foot gets stuck underneath the brake pedal. *jb. brake pedal is curved to the right-bringing it too close for people with wide shoes like me. also, firewall on right is very close to gas pedal so you cannot move your foot to the right to get more clearance. i feel this could cause a few seconds delay in reaching brake pedal in emergency, which could result un fatal accident.*ak

While driving 35 mph traction control system light flashed on dashboard. suddenly vehicle accelerated. consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection. mechanic informed consumer that the problem could not be duplicated. consumer took vehicle to the dealer more than once. *ak

brake pedal is angled towards and too close to the accelerator pedal. at least twelve times consumer stepped on accelerator pedal while braking. *ak *mr
