One week after i purchaseed bmw x5, the airbag light switched on my dashboard while i was driving on highway and igot a massage saying"fault in passenger restraint system affecting airbag, belt tensioner or belt force limiter. continue to wear seat belt. please contact the nearest bmw center."as my car has been affected by the recall, a bmw dealer will fix the airbag problem free of charge. my bmw doesn't have to have an existing warranty to be covered by a recall. today 1/27/2020 i went to the bmw dealer in edison for the recall, after 6 hours i received the car and the airbag light still on ???? i asked the employee why the airbag still on? he answered me " we changed the parts but to turne this light off you will pay for it " i asked how much? he said around $400??? i didn't agree and left the dealer with the airbag light on. the conclusion, they don't wanna do it for free!!!!, i'm driving my car without passenger side airbag????
My vehicle went on limp mode i'm pretty sure it has to do with the transmission gears. my passenger side door looks like the air bag wants to pop out.
The passenger seat weight occupancy sensor intermittently works. i am concerned if it is not working properly, the airbag may not deploy properly. also, the seat belt warning light chimes even though the seat is not occupied.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2002 bmw x5. the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v015000 (air bags). the manufacturer was contacted to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle repaired and they requested a photograph of the steering wheel. once the manufacturer received the photograph, they sent an e-mail to the contact stating that the vehicle was not included in the recall. the dealer was not contacted to confirm if the e-mail was received. the manufacturer provided case number: lp48169. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 bmw x5. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 17v047000 (air bags) and the vehicle was repaired. while the contact was driving home from the service appointment at 55 mph, the battery warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the contact called the bmw store (6131 stewart rd suite 1, cincinnati, oh 45227, (513) 271-8700) and was informed that diagnostic testing was needed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the contact stated that the dealer caused the failure due to not disconnecting the battery. the contact called the better business bureau and was provided complaint id number: 3787246. the failure mileage was 172,000. the vin was invalid.
Takata recall i went out to start my car noticed when i started it there was smoke coming from the passenger side front air bag area i immediately shut it off but there was smoke still coming and getting thicker i immediately call 911 i was on the phone with 911 and noticed flames .fire truck showed up put the fire out but the whole front air bag area and glove box was pretty bad
Me and my kids were driving our 2011 bmw x5, we went to a full stop on the freeway, a semi was driving too fast behind us, the semi was on its way to crushing me and my three daughters in the car. we tried to move out of its way and crashed in the car infront of us as there was no place to go. the one second decision was the toughest decision i had to take in my life, either the semi is going to kill us all i i can crash in the car front of us to avoid death, we were relying on the airbag to save our life, the airbag didn't deploy, accident occurred on july 17th. thankfully the airbag did not deploy or we would've been all dead from the defective bmw airbag, yesterday (july 31st) we received a letter from the dmv that we need to contact bmw to replace the defective airbag. what if the airbag deployed that day? how much is a human life worth? we purchased a bmw to protect us during an accident and we feel cheated. we would've all lost our lives. the car has been towed ...
To whom it may concern: the front passenger air bag seat occupancy sensor mat has failed on my vehicle. this means the passenger side airbag is not active. it has been recalled in the past by bmw multiple times, 17v605 and 17v428, but my vehicle was not included. however, this appears to still be an issue.
Three warning messages appear (i hve to click "ok" to remove them) each time i start the car. the message is about the airbag, the belt tensioner, and the belt force limiter. this for the both the driver side and passenger side. i can still drive the car, but notice through expeimentation,that sometimes when i give a rapid tug on the shoulder belt it stops after a few inches (as it should) and sometimes it goes forward a couple of feet without any reistance. i have not done any other experimentation. this is true for the vehicle being stationary and in motion. since the dealer wants $185 just to look (i am a few months out of warranty), i would first like to know if other people are having the same issue and their is the realistic possiblity of a recall. this would save me analysis and subsequent repair expenses.
