On aug. 09 2014 comming to a stop i applied the brakes. all of a suuden the engine started to accelerate uncontrolable trying to move the car forward. i pressed the brakes as hard as i could and i stoped the car after i hit the car in front when i was able to turn the ignition key off. this sudden unintended acceleration malfunction also happened on jan. 29, 2006 and jan. 30, 2011, also reported to nhtsa at those times. it is a life safety issue and should be addressed a.s.a.p. the manufacturer refuse to take any action. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 audi allroad. the contact stated that the brakes failed intermittently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the failure could not be duplicated. while driving 30 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle did not stop. the failure caused the contact to rear end another vehicle. there were no injuries and a police report was filed. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact was waiting on the results of the diagnostic test from the dealer. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 10,848. updated 09/15/14*lj the consumer stated the failure is unintended acceleration not brake failure. manufacturer refused assistance. updated 1/16/15 *js
