My vehicle has a recall for the srs airbag system i just found out about on this website. i called acura and they told me that the srs airbag system cannot be replaced because due to the age of the vehicle all parts are discontinued. this is a safety issue because now the srs dashboard light is on which means that the airbag system is offline and will not engage if there is a front end collision. how do i get this recall repairs completed. this is a huge safety problem and i'm concerned that i or possibly a passenger in my car may sustain unnecessary injuries if the airbag system does not engage in an accident. please advise how to get this issue repaired or replaced. thank you, [xxx] redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *cc *tr
2006 acura tl issues with component suspension:front: control arm: lower ball joint- steering: hydraulic power assist: hose, piping, and connections- cracked dashboard leaves exposures to the actual airbags on the vehicle. *ln*jb
I have owned this car for 6 years and really like it. my problem is the passenger air bag light frequently lights up? it happens if the seat is empty, a purse is there or someone is sitting theret by the vin it is not suppose to be affected by the recall.
The dashboard has developed cracks in the area around the passenger-side airbag. does this constitute a potential safety issue affecting the airbag deploying properly or possibly shards from the dashboard causing additional injury? there has not been an accident but am concerned if a collision does happen in the future.
I am the original owner of a 2005 acura tl with 49,650 miles on it. what started as a hair line crack on the passenger side dashboard is now a series of spider web wall of cracks all throughout the dashboard, in the past few months. as of late, the cracks have extended to the passenger side airbag area. and now the passenger side airbag light intermentinly blinks on /off both with and without a passenger occupying the seat. this is not an of wear and tear parts issue but a defective material issue by acura. furthermore, it is now a safety issue whether the cracked dashboard will play in the malfunctioning in the deployment of the passenger side airbag. i am in fear of getting behind the wheel of my acura tl now that airbag light intermittently switches on/off at random since the appearance of the cracks on the dashboard.
While i was driving threw the city streets with were a little rocky suddenly out of no where the diver side air bags pop out leaving me confuse without hearing while i was driving and a headache
2005 acura tl, very well maintained. jun 2019, a crack appeared in dashboard on the right side of the passenger side airbag. airbag dashboard light came on 3 months later and stays on. dealer said they had never seen that before, but now i know this is a known problem. love the car, but feel acura needs to resolve this defect. the risk of air bag deployment is serious.
The area around my passenger side airbag on the dash is completely cracked and damaged. i'm concerned that the airbag is damaged under neath and will not deploy during a accident. these cracks just appeared one day while the vehicle was parked and a few days later more cracks. acura should truly consider recalling these vehicles before someone dies due to there negligence. this is my 2nd request. i am aware of other acura owners with the same issue.
