Problems with 2006 Acura TL STRUCTURE

Dash that covers front passenger air bag is cracking and i am concerned that it may lead to premature deployment of the air bag, or in the event of needed air bag deployment cause physical hard to the passenger. *tr

I bought acura 2006 tl in november 2006 and i have noticed there is a crack on my dashboard where the passenger side air bag sits. i noticed on 8/6/11 and now after one week these cracks are started growing. i asked the dealer in pembroke pines and they said it would cost me 800 bucks which is way expensive. i am very disappointed from the manufacture that they wouldn't care for their customers. *tr

Dashboard is cracking on passenger side where the airbag releases. feel this may be a safety issue. in a matter of one week went from no visible crack to approximately four inches long and then to twelve inches long. acura will not replace as vehicle is out of warranty. *tr

After 5 years of owning my 2006 acura tl, hairline cracks started showing up on passenger side dashboard. within a week i have 3 big long cracks all along and above the air bag area of the passenger dashboard. car is garage kept and there should be no reason why the dashboard is cracking up so bad. i am worried that this can affect the way the airbag functions in case of an accident. unacceptable for a luxury vehicle with only 75,000 miles on it. very disappointed. *tr

About 3-6 months ago, i noticed a crack on the passenger side of my acura 2006 tl. gradually the crack grew, then over time, i saw two more cracks in the areas where the airbags are located. now these cracks are widening and i can see white in the cracks. my concern is that the manufacturer's defect will compromise proper deployment of the airbags in case of an accident. if so, this can have tragic consequences. i called the acura manufacturer customer service. they informed me that it will cost me $1500-2000 and that the adjustment from them will be minimal because the warranty for such a thing has expired. i researched on the internet and discovered that this is a common problem for acuras. please, please investigate and help others like me who are highly disappointed, discouraged and angry about the poor quality of materials used in the area that encases the airbags that should protect us from injury or death. for your information: my car has 92,000 miles and i have always taken good precautions to protect the dashboard with a windshield cover, used special conditioner and cracked my windows to keep the heat out. i also do proper and timely mechanical and electrical maintenance. i am the only driver and was hoping this would be my last car. now, if i must sell my car, my car has depreciated substantially due to poor workmanship and i will have a car payment i don't need or can't afford. do ru *tr
