My transmission ran out in freeway and it almost killed me i need a recall
Our gps/ navi system needs replaced
The dash board of my acura cracked along the passenger side air bag for no apparent reason. this seem to be a common problem based on opinions from other acura owners
My vehicle has been garage kept since i bought it new in january 2006. in january of 2018, i discovered that the dashboard, where the passenger's airbag is located cracked. the crack outlines the shape of the airbag. i also discovered another crack directly in front of the steering wheel. the concern is that the airbag may accidentally deploy without being involved in an accident. in researching this problem, it appears that this is a very common issue with 2004 & 2006 tls. lots of complaints with the same symptoms and acura is not taking ownership of the common problem. thank you.
My 2006 acura tl dashboard cracked after bad snow storm here. there are many cracks and the deepest is vertical alongside airbag. acura is not standing behind their product and not correcting defective parts. the vehicle was stationary just never exposed to frigid weather. the car is not safe to drive not knowing when and if airbag will deploy.
My dash board keeps cracking over time in several places, new ones just pop upping up everywhere.this did not start until last year sometime around 100,000 mi.i talked to local dealership, acura co.and the manufacturer of their parts.they said they wont help me.this is not right.i barely drive anywhere.my car stays in garage and is very well taken care of.never been owned/driven on the coast or fl,anywhere like that.i live in ms.all over the internet,on acurazine, and youtube this is happening to 3rd gen tl acuras.can u help me? the cost for a new dash is very expensive $3000.00+. this is a faulty product on their part. there is no way they should get away with this or not make a recall.are recalls a thing of the past? iv had several problems not of my making that i just paid to have fixed but i am sick of this.car manufacturers should not be allowed to do this to people. they just blow us of!and with those of us who take care of our cars, this means their defects arent goin to occur until much later after any warranty has passed.i assure u this is not from general wear or user error.my car stays inside garage,i very rarely drive it and i keep it waxed just as ones look on a car lot.because i have a truck that i drive mainly the car is rarely used.iv hardly put any miles on car since iv owned it.everywhere everyone that owns this model acura says its happening.i assure u this car does not stay in sunlight, has never been around harsh environments.there is nothing that any driver does to create user error that concerns"cracking all over the dash board"from left side all the way to rt side, top and bottom.just long big cracks appearing out of no where every other month now.never have i seen this on any car with well over 100,000 miles.never.many others say the same thing.this type of theivery and quality should not go on.
Design flaw in dash causes cracks common problem with acura dealership will not goodwill or fix a known problem.
Went to turn on windshield wipers and they won't wipe neither will the fluid. tried with the vehicle parked and in motion
Over the years since i purchased the acura 06 tl i have been having problems with the battery- car won't start sometimes. i purchased a few batteries already. finally on 7-24-2017 i was out of town (west palm beach) when my car won't start. i went to closest acura dealer where i learned that the issue was a defective hfl that had a parasitic drain on the battery from defective hfl. had to purchase another battery. acura never informed me that there was a defect of hand free link. in past i had to replace the starter and power steering. certain features still does not work- passenger front window, heating element for car seat passenger, power outlet in console box.
Over the last couple of months, a crack has developed on the dashboard. the crack continues to grow larger in size. the crack is running right along where the passenger side airbag is located in the dashboard. i am concerned that this is compromising the the ability of the airbag to not spontaneously deploy. i am nervous to allow anyone ride in my passenger seat. this car is garage kept - it does not sit in the sun.
The dashboard has a crack in it on the passenger side about where the airbag is located and the scoring is for the airbag deployment. the car is in excellent shape. has spent most of it's life in a garage. only has 85,000 miles on it and is detailed twice a year. there is no excuse for this. i am concerned that besides being a horrible cosmetic defect that it actually creates a safety issue for the proper deployment of the the passenger-side airbag. a simple search online will show you that this is not an isolated incident and must be a defect that acura should repair or replace.
Passenger side dash left edge of airbag is cracked from the front to the windshield. hundreds of complaints with this problem, acura refuses to do anything. do not want parts of dash to injure someone if in an accident and airbag goes off as the crack goes below the airbag towards the passengers.
Dash board has cracks every where looks horrible .... not happy with this car
Dashboard cracked around front passenger airbag for no reason when i was in parking lot, this is a safety issue when i have my kids with me in the car, the airbag might not work properly because dashboard not protecting it accordingly, my car is always in the garage and very well taking car of, this is a luxury car and expensive, acura should be 100% responsible in replacing dashboard to avoid possible airbag malfunction. i hope you guys really consider this claim because its happening everywhere with so many acura tl owners.
Cracked dash board
2006 acura tl with dashboard cracking around the passenger airbag. have seen thousands of examples online of people with the same issue but acura refuses to address or admit to it. cnn even reported it, again no response from acura. concerned about proper deployment of airbag (or deployment at all), especially considering that the model years that are having the issues are the third generation tl (model years 2004-2008) and all tl in the surrounding years (1999-2003 and 2009-present) are a part of the takata recall. acura has stated that replacement cost is $2000 - considering its an obvious manufacture defect and possibly a safety issue, one would think they would step up to the plate and admit fault. this is my third acura vehicle owned.
Dash cracking around passenger airbag as reported by countless others on social media and youtube. my concern is the flying debris from the faulty dash should the air bag ever deploy which can injure, kill or blind the occupant
My acura tl 2006 dashboard started cracking approximately 18 months ago (june 2016). i had used armor all consistently yet the dashboard continued to crack and today, i see the crack behind the central dashboard speaker continue t grow. the second photo i have attached shows the significant cracking on the passenger side of the dashboard, and coincidentally, around the area where the airbag is. i would like this dashboard replaced to original condition (without cracks), and i am very concerned that these cracks have negatively impacted the safety of the airbags safety system.
I have been having a battery drain problem. i charge the battery and it drains overnight. battery was check out to be ok. this is the second battery that i bought in two years. i also bought a portable starter so as not to be stranded. finally the bluetooth fuse was removed and draining stopped for about six weeks. i am noticing that the car when started in the morning is beginning to sound like the problem may be occurring again. now the second issue is that the passenger dashboard side is cracked. i feared that the airbag would eventually deploy therefore i took it to the dealer. they assured me that it was safe and wrote on the paperwork i received that it was safe. on hot days, the split on both sides of the airbag are much wider and i can now see the shape of the hinge or bolt that keeps it together. driving with this situation is very unnerving. acura needs to remedy this issue. those that go into my car are appalled and would never purchase an acura based on my vehicle.
The dash on the passenger side in the area of the air bag is splitting in 2 areas. i observed this when the vehicle was parked overnight.
Without any accident or internal abuse, a large crack appeared on the passenger side dashboard from the windshield to right above the glove compartment. the crack runs along the right side of the passenger side air bag and is deep; you can clearly see the air bag below it. acura has refused to replace it without charging over $2k and "claims" it's not a safety issue with air bag deployment, however i refuse to take a chance in having a passenger ride in the front seat.
2006 acura tl dashboard cracked on the passenger side approximately 12-18 inches along the right side of the airbag to the windshield. these cracks are a safety concern to me as i believe in the case of an accident the airbag will deploy through the weakest link, i am concerned that this could reduce the resistance of the airbag when it deploys, therefore increasing the force with which it deploys into the passenger compartment. i paid for a car that i could trust and a company that i had faith in. this should be repaired as a manufacturer defect. the dealer wants $2000 to replace dash.
I purchased my 2006 acura tl brand new in october 2005. i have read a lot of complaints regarding the crack in the dash above the passenger airbag. as other owners have stated in their complaints, this is a serious safety issue. i am concerned about what will happen if the airbag deploys upon impact or if the airbag will deploy prematurely. please take this defect serious and demand a recall on this issue.
Crack in dash board over the passenger side airbag. i feel this is an extreme safety issue in that the airbag may deploy without impact. this should be repaired as a manufacturer defect. the dealer wants $2000 to replace dash.
The hands free link system in the 2004-2008 acura tl is creating a drain on the battery resulting in complete electrical failure of the automobile. the incidence of failure is most common immediately after periods of at least 10 hours of non-use or shortly after starting. as a result from this issue i experience this electrical problem for the past year, from going threw multiple batteries and being in the unsafe situation of my acura tl losing its power in a very busy intersection. this problem has been reported extensively on multiple acura owner's websites/blogs and has been confirmed by the local dealership. given the possibility for in-use electrical failure, a recall should be issued. are we waiting for someone to be killed or seriously injured before a re-call is really issued?
I need to file a complaint after purchasing my acura tl 2006 a few weeks later my dash board started to crack really bad contacted acura regarding this problem and all they responded was they could replace it for a cost. this is really disappointing due to reading similar complains online for the same thing happening to other owners this should diffinitely be a recall this is cracking where the air bag is. another complain if the car is left with out turning the ignition on for more then a day the car will not start i then need to jump start it to have it run again every week i've also read this is happening to other acura owners as well this is an electrical problem which is very inconvenient for me and other acura car owners there should be a recall to fix this issue as well. please help me and other acura owners with this constant problem and making acura accountable for bad manufacturing.
Dash is cracked on the passenger side - approximately 12" in length (vertical) over air bag
2006 acura tl dashboard cracked on the passenger side from the glove box along both sides of the airbag to the windshield, with adjacent cracks. my vehicle, has 52k miles (we usually use our prius,) was purchased new, and garaged, with a window vented. these cracks are a safety concern to me as i believe in the case of an accident the airbag will deploy through the weakest link, i.e., the airbag will attempt to find its way through the crack instead of where it normally goes! i paid for a car that i could trust and a company that i had faith in.
Early cracks on dashboard on the same side as the airbag
My car battery kept dying every 3 months, i even got a new battery and my car was still dying. i was stranded at the bank in a parking lot, my driveway, and at work. after it died again and wouldn't start with a new battery i called the dealership. they stated it is my blue tooth, which hadn't been working, that is draining my battery and they have seen it in my model and year. i had to pay $100 to have it disconnected and they want to charge me $400 to have it replaced. i replaced it and now they wont reimburse me. this should be a recall and it is a safety issue being stranded with your car not starting. i have a baby that is not ok with me to wonder if my car will start. please help acura needs to be accountable for this faulty part and the safety of people driving their cars. *tr
Dashboard is cracking all over the place to the point that the airbag is now visible on the driver side.
My dash is cracking at a accelerated rate. first at the passenger airbag, now over driver side. my concern is if the dash is dry enough to split along the airbag seams, then what would prevent shards of dash flying off if the airbag deploys? the should get some serious safety considerations.
This vehicle was bought brand new in september 2006, in the past two weeks the dashboard has started cracking open where the passenger side airbag would deploy. the cracks have been getting progressively worse and the dealership is saying i may or may not receive assistance for the repairs which cost approximately $2,400. this is completely unacceptable for a 5 year old vehicle and they seem to want to blame it on the hot florida temperatures even though i have owned approximately 7 other honda/acura products in florida and never had this issue before. *tt
The hands free link system that uses bluetooth to connect to your cellular phone is defective. it kills the car battery, always drawing current from the battery even when the car is parked and not running. had battery replaced all ready. manufacturer suggested repair is to disconnect the hands free link from the vehicle. i feel this is unsafe . i t would cause people to use there cell phones without the hands free feature while driving, which in turn could cause an accident. so this is a major safety issue and i feel acura should resolve the problem. i have researched this issue and have found that this problem is widespread throughout at least two models of acura (acura mdx and acura tl), and approximately years 2004 through 2008.
2006 acura tl no longer fit to be driven because of the manufacturer's defective heating and cooling system breeding toxic mold and the procedures done to the car trying to repair it. *dt the consumer stated the dealer sprayed some chemicals in the vehicles to try and mask the problem.
