Vehicle had been function properly upon departing suffolk county community college selden ny. driver made several turns and braked multiple times. at or about the time of the accident driver noticed a burning odor. driver attempted to brake. brakes did not function, driver pumped brakes and they had no effect. diver downshifted that caused the vehicle to moderately slow. driver impacted vehicle immediately in front of her at approximately 20 m.p.h. in addition to brakes not functioning air bag did not deploy indicating a more systemic/catastrophic mechanical failure. after several attempts and correspondence advising manufacturer's us office to the best of registrant's knowledge no reasonable actions have been taken by manufacturer to inspect the vehicle or address the problem.
