Takata recall i received a safety recall yesterday in my mail for my vw passat's takata airbags. after reading the letter it seemed pretty important that i get the change made so i immediately called my vw dealership to ask them to replace the airbag. upon informing vw of the letter and them reviewing my vin number, they told me that they don't currently have replacements in stock and they werent sure when they would be in. i asked them to call me when they come in and they said they cant do that and for me to just call back in a week to see if they've come in. shocked, i asked the person am i just supposed to ride around praying and gambling that i don't get hit or hit something so that my airbag doesnt go off and harm me? to which the person told me, the airbags work fine its only a recall because they want to make sure there are no issues. im sorry but that is not safe and or accurate. so in the meantime, im riding around with an airbag that has a recall and has the potential to go off and metal fragments could come through the bag which may result in serious injury or death to me and any occupants (usually my two kids). is it me or is something really wrong with this? i need to know how urgent this is to get replaced and get this done immediately.

Takata recall - i have received the notice but it has yet to be remedied. i have not yet received a replacement.

Takata recall - my automobile has been recalled for over a year. after approximately 1 year of the nhtsa website indicating that the repair part was not available for my vehicle, i discovered today on the website that the part is finally available for my vehicle. upon contacting my local vw dealership, i was notified that the part is in stock; however, vw has placed me in "group 6" and that notwithstanding the part being available for my vehicle on the nhtsa website, vw has instructed the dealership to only repair cars in groups 1 through 4. i was told that i must wait until at least september, 2017, for the part to become available, which will be approximately 19 months since the initial recall. it is unacceptable that i have been driving an unsafe vehicle for such a lengthy period of time, and now that the part is available to fix my vehicle, i am not allowed to obtain the fix.

Takata recall: i contacted vw in february about the recall that was in effect for my vehicle they assured me that they would get it fixed as soon as they could. it's six months later and i just received another letter in the mail about the recall and vw has yet to solve the issue for me.

There was a recall warning. i checked the website and it said that my vehicle was affected. feb 9 2016. but i have never heard anything from the manufacture about remedying the situation.

Takata inflators i found out today at the vw dealership where i leased my car that my vehicle is under recall for takata airbags. i have a month left on my lease, and i was going to purchase the car. the salesman told me that " there isn't a fix yet". what does that mean? vw never notified me of the recall. i am very concerned because it is the driver's side airbag in question. i am on the interstates every week as i am in sales. what recourse do i have except not buy the vehicle.

I fear of driving the car,

I have never received a recall notice from the state of texas or volkswagon concerning the driver takata airbag recall. i discovered the recall by researching online. i called volkswagon of america at 1-800-822-8987. case # 170074388. they confirmed that the takata airbag recall exists. the took my information. i asked for a remedy. the recall fix is not available. i asked for my other legal remedies considering the recall has been since february 2, 2016. i asked for the airbag to be dismantled at the dealership or to receive a rental car until the remedy is available. a rental/replacement vehicle was denied. i did not ask for a refund as yet. i would like assistance with asserting my legal rights to drive a safe vehicle. the preferred remedy is a rental car until the recall fix is ready or a refund. basically vw america said good luck- we will contact you when there is a fix.

Takata recall. apparently my car has had this recall for about a year and it really bothers me that volkswagen never bothered to notify me. i do not feel comfortable driving this car, especially with my family and i would have replaced this car months ago had i known. i thought they had 60 days to notify us? *tr

Takata recall just read that it may take over 3 more years for the fix of the airbags. i planned to trade this vehicle for another one. now waiting 3 years for a fix will lower the value of my car. is there a sooner time frame then 3 additional years.

Takata recall: this recall has been open for a long time with no remedy in sight, i am filing a complaint because this is unsafe and i do not feel comfortable driving my car. *tr

Takata recall volkswagen will not fix the airbag of the car, help find a remedy or give a date to fix it. my wife is pregnant and has to drive a car with an airbag that has potentially been transformed into a bomb after it has been subjected to the florida heat.

Takata recall no solution to remedy the possibility of killing my child in a crash. we cannot drive the car with our child full knowing of what could happen. vw has done nothing. and nothing in sight. we are very upset there are no answers. we knew of the recall since 6/16. we just took car in for a service and learned the severity of it all. we decided we want out of the car. the vw dealer we bought the car from would not offer us anything but auction price for our car as they cannot even resell it!! we cannot afford to buy a new car with negative equity on a car that has been recalled but they can't fix it!! we are very very upset and now we are playing russian roulette with our lives. we bought the car for its safety rating and now it's potentially the cars safety features that could kill my family. takata and vw need to figure this out and now!!!

Volkswagen still is not able to provide any timing or plan for when they can replace the dangerous airbag that i sit behind for 500 miles every week.

Takata recall: when i was first notified of the recall around the beginning of the year, i made an appointment to have the recall fixeda few months later. when i arrived, nobody bothered to inform me the part was not available. this was maybe in may. recently, i called vw of america about the safety concern. they said they would not buy the car back from me or swap it out for another car but gave no explanation. when i called cherry hill volkswagen to ask why, if the car was so safe they would not buy it back from me, the salesperson was rude to me and claimed i knew what i was getting into when i bought the car. i am not sure what that means as i was unaware of the recall. i do not feel safe driving my children around in this car. *tr

Takata recall as the takata recall has been ongoing for sometime, my family car was officially recalled in february of 2016 - with the results of airbag rupture being "serious injury or death". to date (dec. 16) there is not a remedy to this recall. i have been told by my local dealership as well as vw corporate, that they are working on a solution, but are not offering any form of alternate vehicle or compensation/payment relief. unfortunately, i do not have a choice but to continue using this vehicle in hopes that we do not have an accident or a sudden rupture of the bag. i have also looked at the possibility of trading my vehicle in for a different vehicle, but i have been told that the dealership cannot sell my vehicle with open recall, so they are not willing to take it in on trade. also, while dealers of other makes have been willing to take the trade, the value due to recall has decreased substantially to the point where i would have to pay an outrageous amount to get into another vehicle. vw needs to stand behind the vehicles and come up with a safe alternative for their customers.

Airbag light came on while turning the steering wheel. i looked up a similar issue on nhtsa website (15v483000 campaign) with a steering wheel clock spring issue for multiple vw vehicles. it listed 'some' 2014 passat's as being affected. i took it to the dealer who stated that my vin was not listed as being effected, however it has to given it is the same make/model as this nhtsa campaign. please consider reviewing and expanding this recall. vehicle is less than 3 years old and it is clearly the same issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 volkswagen passat. while driving approximately 20 mph, another vehicle drifted into the contact's lane. as a result, the contact crashed into a cement divider. the air bags deployed and a white, powdery substance flew into the eyes of the contact and his wife, followed by metal fragments. the contact also stated that the passenger side air bag caught fire. the contact extinguished the fire. the contact's wife sustained injuries to the hip and stomach, which did not require medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a body shop where it was diagnosed that a new transmission, front driver's side wheel arm, and air bag needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the vehicle was then taken to joe machens volkswagen (1200 vandiver dr, columbia, mo 65202, (855) 301-6700), but the nature of the diagnostic and repairs could not be provided. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 21,000. *tt *tr consumer stated customer exited to a rest area, missed a turn and at last minute attempted to make turn, hitting a curb. both tires on driver's side blew out and airbags deployed. updated 10/1/18*jb

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2014 volkswagen passat. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v078000(air bags) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. the dealer stated for months that they would call the contact when the part became available, but the contact did not receive a follow-up call. the interim recall notice did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. the manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. the contact was not experiencing a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall. !!!!!!! worried about driving the car now and i can't even sell it to get another car. this is depriving me of use of my property. we owners of cars effected deserve much more than replacing parts.

I was offered to return my car from a lease with 7 months left, through the vw early buyback promotion. this is when i was told that my vehicle was subject to a dangerous recall, which could cause death, and that no fix was available for it at this time. i am extremely upset about this report and vw brushed my complaint by saying that i only had 7 months left to pay and i could return the vehicle. i feel this is unacceptable response and am not comfortable with driving car anymore.

Volkswagen did not issue a rental car to me. i have no alternate transportation. i also live in a humid environment where the driver's side airbag is more of a risk.

Was not aware of my vehicle vin recall till i read on news about volkswagen, then i checked my vin online and noticed it was due for recall i m shocked that i am unaware and driving unsafe with my family. *tr
