A dump truck came off of the highway and made an illegal turn in front of me. he caused a frontal impact on my vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. i was traveling 55 mph with a trailer attached and slammed on brakes but still impacted him really hard. i was on the feeder or frontage road.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2006 toyota tundra. the contact received nhtsa campaign number: 19v741000 (air bags) and inquired of manufacturer and dealer resposnibility in regards to the recall remedy. the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown air bag recall at an unknown dealer however, he was not satisfied with the repairs as the dealer left adhesive glue visible on the dashboard and paneling that was removed to replace the passenger side air bag. the contact spoke to a supervisor at toyota customer experience whom informed him to take the vehcile to another toyota dealer for the current recall remedy however it was not guaranteed that toyota would be financially responsible to replace the dashboard as it was not a part of the recall. the failure mileage was 18,000.
I called the local toyota dealer. toyota of gastonia. 1.704.824.7777 and the manager.. In mid december, 2019, i was driving on the interstate and the spare tire dropped from under my 2003 toyota tundra. fortunately, no vehicles were behind me at the time. i was so surprised to see that tire bouncing down the road behind me! that spare tire had never been taken from the carrier. i made an appointment with a toyota dealer for inspection/recall in early february. they said the corrosion on the cross-member needed to be replaced but the spare tire carrier corrosion issue causing the tire to drop was only for recalls on the tacoma models, i was responsible for the issue. i feel this is a toyota manufacturing safety issue that needs to be addressed. do i have any recourse?
I brought my truck to miller toyota dealer at 1331 n. euclid st, anaheim, ca 92801 on nov-26, 2019. and they stated that part was not available, and they would contact me when they have the part, would take couple days. since, i several times, texted, emails and left voice mails for when they have part, but i have not heard back from them since.
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 toyota tundra. after the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall for the front passenger air bag, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to toyota place (located at 9670 trask ave, garden grove, ca 92844, (714) 243-8973) where the recall repair was completed, but a diagnosis was not performed. the vehicle was taken to south coast toyota (located at 1966 harbor blvd, costa mesa, ca 92627,(949) 722-2000) where it was diagnosed that the spiral cable assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 38,000.
Airbag came on. i immediately take it to dealer. they charged me for the diagnostic. they also said the contact spiral need replacing
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 toyota tundra. the contact received a notification in the mail for nhtsa campaign number: 19v741000 (air bags). the contact spoke with oxmoor toyota (8003 shelbyville rd, louisville, ky 40222, (502) 565-0086) and was informed that the parts were on backorder and would not be available for three weeks. the manufacturer was notified of the recall and informed the contact that he would have to wait a week. the contact was advised to keep passengers out of the passenger seat. the contact had not experienced a failure.
In response to the recent recall, i scheduled an appointment at round rock toyota. i was told they would not complete the repair because "the new ones have been recalled also" and to wait until next year. they refused to remedy.
Airbag light came on during a long hwy drive home, had vehicle checked out and pulled code b1863. code was checked and everything checked good, so code was reset. it's been over a month and airbag light just came back on during a drive home. taking it in to see if it's the same ode or a different one this time.
