The brake on my 2000 toyota tundra shake violently when applied. the rear drums were replaced along with new shoes and the front rotors were turned with new pads at 26,894 miles under warranty and at 60,000 i have had to have both reworked again. your organization should demand a recall for this problem.*ak

Purchased 2000 toyota tundra in 2004 with abs light on and rear end noise. truck vibrates significantly when break is used down hill. toyota agreed to inspect and repair if any problem existed. toyota states that the noise was a parking brake cable and the breaks should be used "smoothly", taking care not to hit it too hard. the day after pick up from service department a major accident occured when at 45 mph the brakes locked up causing vehicle to slide 75 feet impacting two other vehicles that were totaled out. the tundra rear-ended a small car. dammage was to the upper left side of the tundra and all the way to the middle of the engine area, as the top of the tundra was forced into a downward position by the left front tire locking up. no air bag deployed. not the driver or passenger side. 3 minor injuries to 3 people inside tundra. neck injury to driver of first vehicle impacted. toyota verbally stated to family member that they knew it was a problem. body work finnished and insurance paid bill. breaks still lock up even at low speeds. using breaks on a hill cause truck to shake. break pads replaced and breaks still do not function as required. toyota denies any problem with breaks.

My 2000 toyota tundra started vibrating severally at around 15000 miles. toyota fixed the problem, and at 31000 miles the problem came back. unfortunately i was not able to contact toyota for repair until two days prior to three year anniversary of purchase, half hour before closing at a weekend. toyota refuses to fix my problem, helpful customer service said that i was out of luck. bumper to bumper warranty would have expired by the time i could take it in.

2000 tundra was purchased at 47,000 miles. within 1000 miles, a severe vibration developed whenever the brakes were applied at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour. as the vibration increased, i noticed a fairly severe increase in braking distance as well. after a near collision, i took the vehicle in for service. the dealer alerted me that there was a problem with brakes on the tundra, however they simply resurfaced the rotors and informed me that the pads were at 75%. within 1000 miles, i again developed the same problem. i took the vehicle in again and again the dealer acknowledged the problem, but simply resurfaced the rotors and installed new pads at my expense. the service manager attempted to have toyota pay to perform the work which was listed in service bulletins # br00302, br00402, however, toyota refused citing that my truck had in excess of 36,000 miles. the bill for this work was quoted as $1700. it is now 1000 miles since my most recent service, and again the violent shaking and increased stopping distance has returned.

Rotors, drums, pads and shoes replaced at 12,000 miles and 34000 miles after developing severe vibration. these were replaced under warranty. at 40,000 miles severe vibration developed in rear end. at 54,000 miles severe vibration developed in front end. found out that rotors are warped. mr

Vibration in front end, brake drums wraped, toyota said there is not solution to the brake problem.
