No incident yet but i am concerned about my safety since there is no remedy for the recall yet. i want to know that i have options and what coverage do i have if the airbags deploy.

We received a notice on may 23rd that our airbag was recalled and to not sit in the passenger front seat due to risk of serious injury or death. the reason we bought a van is we need to be able to transport multiple people at once. this is extremely inconvenient and negligent on the part of toyota. there has been no communication or action to correct this after 3 months of the initial notification.

I was driving my toyota sienna 2011(us 22w allentown pa highway) when suddenly my vehicle was hit hardly by a chevy suv, then i hit laterally the wall dividing the highway, lately hit a aluminium fence. i was admitted at lehigh valley health network, cedar crest hospital with hits all over my body, especially, an open-wound trauma in my forehead. i started having recurrent headaches, painful back and neck accompany of swelling, numbness and cramps in my right limb. i was attending physical therapies, still i am taking medications by relief recurrent migraines, back and neck pain provoked by the whiplash syndrome long-term injuries. when checking on the vehicle was very noticeable that none of air-bags was opened. because of this situation my injuries were worst.

Takata recall i was told today by a toyota dealship that there is no remedy yet and no future date planned for remedy. she told me that i should choose between parking my car for the undefined future until remedy is found or simply drive my family with the defective airbag. neither are viable options for me. i need my car to get my kids to school, we need to use the front seat. what can be done? please help.

Takata recall. i received notice in late july 2016 about the takata airbag recall for my vehicle. due to travel, it was a few weeks before i could take it in to the dealer. i was offered a toyota camry as a replacement vehicle, but i requested from toyota usa, and received, authorization to rent a minivan through enterprise. i picked up that vehicle mid august 2016. in november 2016 i received notice that my van also had a sliding door recall. i initially stored my vehicle at the dealership, but was told to move it to my home in late december 2016. it is now late june 2017 and i have heard nothing about either of these recalls. the safercars.gov website says there is no remedy available for either recall yet. almost 11 months i have been waiting on the airbag recall, and 7 months on the sliding door recall. this is an unacceptable waiting time. yes, i have a rental car available to me, for which i'm grateful, but in the meantime my own car is sitting in the driveway, undriven, and basically rotting. toyota has spent over $17,000 renting a vehicle for me to drive, which is ridiculous. they should have just bought my car from me and been done with it. i'm so frustrated with this situation. how much longer am i supposed to wait???

Toyota has no remedy for the faulty airbag and urges no passenger in the front. i find that unacceptable to have a car that i cannot have a passenger in the front.

In july 2016, i was notified that the air bag was dangerous and had to be replaced. i was on vacation and when i returned in august, i asked my dealer about the replacement. i was told that i had to wait a few months for the part to come in. later in the year i again asked about it and was told to come in march. i asked in march and was told that the part would be in by june. i just asked and was now put off to the end of june. i cannot keep delaying my plans to use the passenger seat. we want to go on vacation now, not next month.

Takata recall:nothing happened yet other than i needed this car to transport my elderly mother who has heatlh issues and is became very inconvinient now. i could no longer risk to put her on front seat which deceive the purpose of having this van. i contacted toyota and they had no expectation date for remedy. i really don't know what to do at this point. i can not afford to just go out and get a new van.

Takata recall - we're in zone a but can't get any answers as to when our airbag will be replaced. van is useless and unsafe to drive in its present condition. where are our consumers' rights and protection? we need this vehicle and can't afford for it to out-of-service indefinitely.

We purchased a 7 passenger toyota sienna in 2011. we still have a loan on this vehicle. in or about the summer of 2016, we received a recall notice from toyota with the address and phone number listed above. among other information, it states "until the remedy becomes available we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." in the faq, it stated, that toyota will provide a loaner vehicle for those customers with vehicles currently under recall. in another portion of the letter, it states that ca is in zone 1 and that our vehicle is in zone a of the recall, the most dangerous area with respect to the safety of the recall. when we contacted toyota for a loaner vehicle, they offered a 5 passenger toyota camry. they also stated we could have a 7 passenger sienna if we paid an additional $500 a month. we told them this was unacceptable as we purchased (and are still paying toyota for) a 7 passenger vehicle. we escalated this numerous times including to the bbb at which time they suddenly said this was a texas company and that they would not be offering any additional remedy. we would like a replacement vehicle at no extra charge. please note that there is no timeline for the recall so they are saying indefinitely that we cannot use the car as they sold it to us.

Takata recall i was recently informed of my vehicle's involvement in this recall. when i contacted the toyota dealership to have the vehicle repaired i was told that they would not be able to complete the repair until 4 months to 18 months from now. they suggested that until then we just not use our front passenger seat. they have offered no other solution to this issue. it is my understanding that they have 60 days to provide a remedy so i would like to know what rights i have as a consumer.

Takata recall-sienna 2011- toyota is suggesting we do not use passenger seat and i have a family of 5 and carpool other children ages 11-16 using the passenger seat daily. they are stating they will not provide a rental that seats 7 like my van. im concerned as i live in ca, hot climate, and the car is not garaged at home or work increasing the likelihood that the airbag is damaged. i feel they should provide a temporary substitute vehicle equal to my current until the airbag can be replaced.

Takata recall ' we received notice that our 2011 toyota sienna was subject to recall in july 2016. the notice told us we should not have anybody ride in the front passenger seat. we are a family of 6 and this is a highly impractical restriction. i contacted toyota at 1-800-331-4331 on july 20, 2016 and talked with toyota rep aaron to get information about replacing our passenger airbag. later that day or the next, my husband spoke to toyota rep christina c at extension 73868. she refused to tell him her last name. she told us our file number was 1607202114. christina suggested orally it was safe to ride in the passenger seat, but refused to say so in writing. neither aaron nor christina could tell us when our airbag would be fixed, and both said they would have a supervisor call us. in both cases a supervisor did not call us. christina offered a loaner vehicle, but it would be a small compact car, which could not transport our family. we spent the last 2+ months not using the front passenger seat of our vehicle. i called again on september 30, 2016 and spoke with toyota reps bertha and syreeta. since the car is now six years old and has been in hot and humid south carolina, and therefore now likely subject to material deterioration, we demanded toyota install a replacement airbag right away. toyota refused to address the problem at this time. again, i was told i could surrender our van and get a loaner car that could not fit my family of 6. this recall has been since may of 2016. as of september 30, 2016, toyota has no idea when this situation will be remedied. this is unacceptable. toyota should promptly repair our vehicle or in the alternative provide a comparable substitute vehicle while they sort things out. we should not be exposed to further danger while toyota figures out the absolute cheapest way to obtain airbags from takata.

Takata recall. i called toyota back on 7/18/2016, opened case# 1607150375 and to this day ( 1/30/2017 ) there has been no remedy for my vehicle. it has been quite annoying for me not to be able to seat someone on the passenger seat of my van, especially my wife. i also had to take family trips and outings without the use of the passenger seat. this issue is very frustrating and i need to have it resolved asap.
