Takata recall. we have been burdened with the following warning from toyota motor sales, usa, inc.: "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat." my case #1607183206 is on file at toyota motor sales usa. i have attempted to "trade my 2011 sienna" for a 2016 sienna at our local mack haik dealership (league city, tx) however the dealership only offered me $11,000 for my sienna with less than 59,000 miles and in very good condition. (i would estimate my vehicle to be devalued by about $5,000 due to the air bag recall.) the offered trade in value offered and the dangerous condition of driving with a passenger in front seat of our van has placed us in an unfair position as toyota owners. a position that we are not responsible for and one that should be remedied asap. i have waited patiently (since july!), but i have recently sent letters of complaint explaining this to the dealership, to mack haik administrative offices, and to toyota motor sales usa. my letters were dated september 9, 2016 and i have had no replies from either entities. i have been in contact with the dealership in league city as recently as 9/27/16 and i have not gotten any guarantee of when the air bag defect will by fixed. i have offered to trade my 2015 sienna to the dealership, but want a fair market value (as if the air bag condition was repaired) for a 2016 model just for the opportunity to use my sienna as it was intended, i.e. allowing a passenger in the front seat. i am convinced the "consumer" in this takata recall has been placed in an unfair position and a remedy needs to be realized soon. i appeal to your organization to assist in mediating the problem and making our situation whole again.

Takata recall received notice from toyota that takata front passenger airbag inflator zone a has been issued a safety recall. no current solution given to fix problem but advised not to have passengers in front seat. this is a terrible solution for a problem with possible maiming or deadly consequence as it diminishes the utility of the vehicle. the ntsb should mandate that toyota replace these devices immediately or within a very short period of time. i understand that there are detonators manufactured that do not contain the volatile gas used in the takata equipped bags. toyota should acquire these at their expense and refit the vehicles with the alternative detonators.

Takata recall i received the recall notice from toyota early june of 2016 to state that the passenger side airbag has been recalled and the remedy was not ready. it has been more than half year since then, and the remedy is still not ready. none of the dealers has it. toyota hasn't sent any follow up notice since then. i just received another recall notice from toyota last week to state that the slide doors on the sienna could open during the driving. my kids sit on it everyday, and it is really scary even though i already turned off the power door function. even more scary, based on the experience of the airbag, hard to know how long toyota will take care of this recall. can someone look into the problem with toyota and urge them to take the action and start repairing all the critical recalls? *tr

Takata recall we received a recall for the takata air bag on the passenger side in may 2016. it is now december 2016 and it has not been fixed. we have asked our local dealership about this and they still say there are no parts.

Takata recall - issue remaining since receiving a notice dated may 23, 2016...almost one year. also a recall involving a sliding power door system that was issued november 22, 2016. neither recall has a fix and both are potentially very dangerous safety issues. i have contacted toyota numerous times and they refuse to provide alternate, safe transportation for my family, which includes 3 young children. i am driving my family around every day with a potential airbag and/or sliding door malfunction waiting to happen. it has been a very long time and neither of these issues has a date by which they are to be fixed.
