Recently reported AIR BAGS problems on 2014 Toyota Corolla

My vehicle has been recalled

There is a recall for my vehicle and i need it to be replaced.

Collided at 60+ mph on 190 by diesel large truck major front and side damage and no airbag deployment of any kind. his truck was fine and none of my side nor frontal airbags went off. my head slammed into the driver's window and my neck and back are really hurting. this happened just a couple days ago.

In march 1 2019 at 840 pm i was driving my toyota corolla 2014 heading south on arch street in pittsford vermont. i drove down the road went over a little hill and as i came over the tiny hill in my vision i saw a driving car coming towards me in there appropriate lane, with there headlights on, then i saw a parked car blocking 70 percent of my lane. i had no choice but to hit the parked car. when i hit the car my air bags did not deploy. i don't remember anything after my face hit the steering wheel. my air bags did not deploy! i have broken bones in my face and can't see clearly out of my right eye. i've gone to a eye md who is a retina specialist and she says i'm not going to be able to see out of my right eye. i do have a lawyer but i believe if i would have known about this defect than i would have had this fixed and would have had the proper deploy of the air bag which then i would not be losing my site. i was going 35 mph.*dt*jb

My collision was a front bumbler to rear number collision with no passenger in the car yet both my side airbags and both passenger airbags deployed. my side airbags injured my arm and the combined total of airbag damage was $6,000 in repairs and caused the car to be totaled.

This is not a real complaint. this is a test.

The airbag indicator is red on dashboard this a safety issue that airbag is not working properly. the vehicle has the airbag indicator on red and does not turn off unless the car is turned off.

The maintenance light stays on and won't reset after the 15000 mile oil change. after 16000 miles the horn stopped working. at 16900 miles on 08/07/2018 the driver airbag light came on and stayed on, and the steering wheel cover where the airbag is is loose. the brakes and alignment have been checked and are good, but sometimes the wheels lock and the car doesn't brake well, as if the antilock system stopped working.

Takata inflators - the vehicle hit a curb and blew the passenger side tire. the seat belt light and air bag light has been flashing ever since about 65,000 miles. the air bag did not deploy and the seat belt still locks. if an accident occurs from the rear, side or front, the airbag would not deploy and the seat belt may not lock. the horn line disconnected from the horn unexpectedly. this happened on 6/15/18 at 88,585 miles. the air conditioner has a leak from the main line that connects to the square box at the back of the car wall. when the car is sitting still at a light or stop sign, hot air starts blowing.

For 2 years i've received recall on my car and each time i get same response from toyota the tejas location that they don't have a remedy and i will get notified when they do. this is unacceptable !!! this is my 2nd year waiting and they don't have a list for me to get on . two years waiting in a fix is way too long.

Takata recall while driving to work my car was involved in a major 1 car accident on 12/26/2017. in the accident was some spinning and tree collision. through all of that the airbags in my car did not deploy. toyota states that my car was collided with fast enough for them to deploy but the damage and amount of glass was substantial.

Airbag indicator is always on red. the airbags may not deploy because of issue and may csuse injury or death for my family.

Takata recall - i do not know if it has been recalled

Possibly takata recall. 2014 toyota corolla le was in motion and was sideswiped at about 20 mph on a city street. extensive but repairable damage to entire drivers side of car. driver door inoperable. driver and passenger both wearing seat/shoulder belts. none of the airbags deployed.

Side airbags did not deploy despite ford f150 striking the driver side at approx. 10 mph as toyota traveled at about 30 mph, with point of impact the driver side front pillar assembly and then fishtailed to impact the entire left side of the toyota corolla. toyota corolla was in motion on a 4-lane city street and f150 was in the center left/right turn median traveling in the same direction but failed to yield and merged and/or was struck by a third vehicle and pushed into my toyota corolla

Involved in a hit and run car accident on 01/23/2017 where i was rear ended by a vehicle driving approximately 60-70 mph. i was stationary at 0mph on th highway waiting on traffic to clear up .the hit from the unidentified driver caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel ( seatbelt didn't work) and rammed me into the car in front of me, contacting the right front of my car with the rear left side of the car in front of me. airbag did not deploy. the unknown person that hit me tried to leave the scene and hit me again as he didn't make it all the way around me causing me to swing and hit my head again ( seatbelt did not work again) pictures show evidence of 2 license plate indents on the back bumper. i have thus sustained injuries from the accident and at this time am still undergoing treatment for a head concussion, and bulging disc in my neck. the vehicle was determined to be a total loss or also known as a totaled vehicle.

Tl* the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags). the part to do the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

My airbags are no longer working in my 2014 toyota corolla and want some sanders. i have last than 60k miles on this car. the dealership is telling me my vin number is on the list with www.nhtsa.gov as well as the dealership. there are other website that indicates their problems with toyota vehicle with the airbag frontal sensor control module. fix this complaint for me, because if i'm in accident wig no airbags i'm died.

Takata inflators (possible) the car was in an accident. my wife rear ended another vehicle and there was a good amount of front end damage. she was not sure about the exact speed. she was driving on interstate 95 in west haven ct in clear weather but fairly heavy traffic. the thinks the speed was between 25 to 35 mph. the damage it the front end was enough to declare the car a total loss. the damage went all the way to the engine block. most of the airbags did deploy. the drivers side steering wheel and knee airbags deploy, however, they did not inflate. the side airbags and curtain airbags deployed but only some inflated or partial inflated. i spoke to the dealership where i purchased the vehicle and they said it was strange. so i reported it to toyota and they are going to inspect the vehicle. during my initial conversations with toyota corporate office they too said it does not seem correct. they are going to inspect the care with a week. i am not sure what to make of their inspection and i want to make sure they are fair. luckily no one was hurt in the accident. but i do think the issue needs to be looked at. the car is currently at a body-shop but the insurance company will be taking possession for salvage.

The corolla moving at about 35 mph on a 3 lane road hit another car that was stopped at a yellow blinking light in the rear, the corolla's impact was on the left front side first so on a slight angle to the rear of the stopped car so it did not hit squarely. the seat belt did not function and the female driver of the corolla hit her head on the window and her right knee hit the under dash, her weight is about 110 lbs. and small body frame. the air bags also did not function there is around $9000 damage to the car so this was not just a small collision. i have attached a pdf file with photos.

My air bags did not deploy during an accident where a construction truck hit my car causing me to hit a tree and roll. my father died as a result of this accident. now that a problem with the air bags not deploying in this type car i wonder if this is what happened. toyota did not inspect vehicle. lawyers engineer said because of occupants bouncing around ' car couldn't tell where everyone was and therefore air bag deployment was not commanded. consumer stated "don't believe toyota was ever notified of incident. cosumer stated air bag deployed when the fireman cut the roof off the car to get to her parents, who were at the bottom of the car. crush report [xxx], case #[xxx] traffic homicide investigation case #[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt *dt *dt *jb

As i was driving around a curved street, my steering wheel locks on me. i could not swerve and turn my car to follow the curved street. i could not move the wheel at all. my car ran into a tree head first. all the airbags deployed and smoke appeared. my entire car was totaled and smashed in the front. scariest thing because i had no control. thank god, my 1 year old son was not in the backseat or else he would have been fatally injured with those airbags. i need to know what can be done. toyota has had recalls in the past and this could have ended my life. *tr

This am i hit a deer on the way to work head on at 65-67 mph and not one air bag deployed!!! the entire front end crumpled to the windshield area and the radiator and parts torn lose to the top of engine and not one air bag deployed. everyone at the wreck could not believe it and now i am terrified of the car if direct contact at that speed does not open the safety equipment what will? this car is not safe. *tr

I was making a right turn pulling into a parking space in a shopping mall. i was approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of the way in when the vehicle took off and went into a tree and then a wall. i would guess the vehicle traveled approximately 40 feet after the sudden and unintended acceleration. this definitely was sudden and unintended acceleration. the front end of the vehicle was damaged by the tree and the wall the air bag did not deploy. *tr

On may 6, 2014, my wife [xxx] and i were driving home to wlliston, vermont from arlington, vermont. we were driving north at approximately 45 mph in our 2014 toyota corolla le. at the blinking light intersection of dorset street and cheese factory road, we made a right hand turn and drove east. it was a very dark night and i mis-judged the distance to the end of cheese factory road, where you could either turn left or right. at the intersection of cheese factory road and hinesburg road, there are no blinking lights or reflectors, and, in the darkness, i missed the stop sign, went straight through the intersection and crashed into a ditch on the other side of the road. upon impact, my air bags deployed, and i felt only a sharp pain in my lower back. immediately getting out of the car, i moved to the passenger side to find my wife out of the car on her hands and knees, crying out that she was unable to breathe. in the hospital [xxx] was diagnosed with a cracked sternum, an l 1 compression fracture in her back, 3 broken ribs and a broken left wrist. she spent 9 days in icu. it has only been in the last few weeks that my wife and i have had an in-depth discussion of the accident. [xxx] says that her seat belt did not hold her back, and that her chest hit the dash before her air bag deployed; yet, at impact she was able to see that my air bag had deployed before hers. this would probably account for the severity of her injuries and for the relatively minor injuries for mine. we are now aware that the 2013 toyota corolla had airbag issues and wonder if our 2014 toyota corolla might have similar problems. we have also been told by medical personnel that tremendous force would be required to crack a sternum, the kind of force that would come from hitting the dash board. for these reasons we are filing a claim. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
