Battery and brake light came on at the same time while driving down a main street, light will turn on and off. after driving for around an hour car takes around 30 seconds to actually go when pressing on gas.

My battery won't charge even with brand new alternator.nissan had a campaign but claims my vehicle wasn't affected by it. campaign #05v319000

While driving on the street or highway abs light comes on then vehicle stalls and rolls at about 2 mph and the car doesn't respond when i press the gas pedal. usually the abs light turns off then i can drive normally. the last time this happened the car turned off i had to push it out of the street and it wouldn't start up for a couple of hours, then the abs light came on again and then it stalls with no response when pressing the gas pedal. this has happened over 10 times even after replacing the brakes and checking all the sensors, checking the battery and all of the connections and fluids.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. while driving approximately 15 mph and making a right turn, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration. later, after parking the vehicle, it was discovered that the battery was drained. the battery was recharged and the vehicle was able to be restarted. the cause of the failures were not determined. the manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 134,000.

Tl* the consumer owns a 2005 nissan murano. on numerous occasions, while driving, several unknown warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle failed to respond. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, which was still pending. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v319000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. the dealer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 125,000. *dt*jb

While driving on the highway the 2005 murano slowed down, i pressed more firmly on the gas and it did nothing. i pulled onto the shoulder of the highway and the car had shut off completely. i tried restarting the murano several times with no luck. i had to call for a flat bed tow truck which took 5 plus hours of me sitting in the freezing cold with no power in my car in the dead of winter. vehicle was towed home and i was told i needed a new battery. i went to pep boys and purchased a brand new battery and had pep boys install it for me. the next night as i was driving my fiance to his house the 2005 murano again lost momentum and within seconds shut down. and again i could not turn the vehicle back on. i had to call for another flat bed tow truck and wait luckily only 3 hours this time for them to show up. i had the vehicle towed to my mechanic who replaced the alternator in the vehicle and another new battery. that was in november of 2018, it is now febuary 2019 and i have not had any electrical issues since. why is this not covered under the recall that there was for the 2005 nissan murano? i do not understand why they refuse to cover the cost when they had to recall hundreds of thousands of this car for this issue and yet mine was not included?????

Takara recall : while the car is in motion the engine will shut off at random. when the engine shuts off the car is pulled along the side of the road, and will start again. this has happened on multiple, almost causing serious crashes.

Car loss power and stop, and i change battery and drew 1 mile ,and i stop for gas ,i show smoke coming out of engine.

Takata recall..i drove my 2005 nissan murano and i parked the nissan. 20 minutes later started to back the car and as soon as i put it on dr it went by 2 miles an hour so then i pressed on the gas all the way down and it still went to miles an hour it's still drove but it was going around 5 miles an hour. then i parked the nissan and let it cool off and see what was wrong. i could not find nothing, i called my husband he could not find nothing either, he drove it around the block and it still went 5 miles an hour so then he checked the engine nothing was wrong but it did say abs and then around 20 minutes later the nissan turn on and it went normal and nothing happened until 2 months later. the next time i was at a drive-thru and then all of a sudden the abs turn on and it did not want to go fast it went again five miles an hour. then i turn around the corner and then it went fast but then it went slow again so i park the nissan, and begin to start it and then it wouldn't start the abs went on again, then the battery was dead. i finally got a jump and it turned back on like normal and it went normal until i got to the store and i left the nissan on with the air condition and had my son in the car. my son said that air conditioner keep going on and off on and off the windows were not working try to roll down the windows it wasn't working so then i got in the car and as soon as i put it in dry it didn't want to go it went 5 miles an hour then the abs turned back on and then it went back to normal i was driving i made it all the way home and that is what's going on with a nissan murano.

Vehicle shut-off without warning while driving on the roads and freeway. had to immediately put neutral restart engine several times. took it to the dealership in bellevue ne and they only replaced the duct vent tube from the air filter. i had mentioned that it has a code on odb2 scanner cam sensor and they don't have a recall for it. please need a safe car for me and my family.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. while driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled and the seat belt warning indicator remained illuminated even when the driver's seat belt was latched. the dealer (lawley nissan, 2960 e fry blvd, sierra vista, az 85635, (520) 459-2000) was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v319000 (electrical system). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 156,000.

I'm unable to lock/unlock any doors using the lock/unlock buttons in the car. they only lock/unlock manually. the key manually locks/unlocks the driver door only. fob doesn't work for any locks, and it's a new one.

I was driving my 2005 nissan murano on the highway when the battery light and brake light came on. few minutes later it wouldn't accelerate then stalled out and wouldn't start. after getting a jump it started up but wouldn't move. i can get the alternator but i'm still having the problem. don't know what else to do. i can't keep it running long enough to take it in to be checked. please help fix this issue. *tr

Takata recall nhtsa campaign number: 05v319000 i experienced the exact same issue described in the campaign number above. i called the pischke motors nissan in lacrosse wisconsin about the problem. they simply told me that there was no recall regarding that issue. they said that my murano was made after that recall was addressed however, as mentioned, i'am seeing the exact same problem. the vehicle was in a parking lot in motion when it failed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. while driving at an undisclosed speed, all power to the vehicle seized without warning. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin and failure mileage were unknown.

My back driver side door would not unlock or lock this morning. it was working fine yesterday afternoon. i tried to unlock from the inside and appears that the lock button is not working as it should. i cannot open the door at all from outside or inside. i only use the key itself and unlock or lock doors with the panel buttons.

When locking door with remote control, the drivers door does not lock.

This complaint relates to a closed recall for the 2005 nissan murano nhtsa campaign id number: 05v3190. two months with the vehicle and i had transmission problems, where the vehicle lost power and drive-ability, bringing my passengers and myself to a harms way. i contracted aamco to replace the transmission, one month later, nissan usa had to provide another transmission to replace the one changed one month before. last monday, july 06, 2015, while driving on the new jersey garden state parkway, the vehicle presented serious trouble, when the emergency brake, awd and abs warning lights came on, as the vehicle lost speed, transmission disengaged, putting my wife, myself and other vehicles around us in serious risk of accident. i managed to pull the vehicle to the shoulder and later to a near by friend`s house in the galloway area. after contacting nissan usa regarding the transmission, they told me to contact aamco, since they installed the new transmission. aamco checked the vehicle and found out that, the problem was caused by the alternator that heated up, dropped voltage to 12v dc and caused the safe mode to engage, by making the vehicle unsafe on the middle of the highway. nissan usa claims that this nhtsa campaign has been closed, when it is to my believe that, it should be re-opened and not only me, but also many other nissan murano owners, that still confront such factory defective issues to have this issue resolved. i was lucky to be able to act fast enough and bring my vehicle to safes way, would all others be so lucky?

I was driving out of my driveway, when the car stalled and hesitated. i saw the battery light and the brake light come on, so i drove the car slowly down the street in front of my apartment, and parked it there. i later read that this was common on nissan muranos, model years 2003 through 2007, and a recall campaign, 05v319000 was started.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the brake and battery warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the contact was made aware of nhtsa campaign number: 05v319000 (electrical system), but the vin was not included. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 190,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the check engine and the brake warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

My driver side rear door began malfunctioning when using the remote and button door lock controls. all doors would lock but the driver side rear door would remain unlocked. the same was true when unlocking all doors with remote or buttons. all doors would unlock accept the driver side rear door. the issue has now progressed to other doors in the car with increasing frequency including the rear hatch not opening at all and i have not manual button to flip to allow the hatch to open. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the air bag warning light would intermittently flash and the horn failed to work. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 195,000.

I had a check engine light and an airbag light appear on my dash. while driving on the beltway the abs light came on and my car slowed down and wouldn't tee pond to the gas pedal. after about 2 minutes it kicked back in so i took it to get a diagnostic from a nissan dealer the next morning. they told me everything was fine according to the computer there were a lot of codes that popped up but they told me they weren't happening anymore. i asked of they checked all of the wires they told me yes. so i took my vehicle and later that night while driving back from lunch break the abs light came on again and the murano slowed down as before only this time it cut completely off. it only held a jump for about 5 blocks before it cut off again. i had it towed back to the dealer the next morning and they told me they can't check anything unless i purchase a new battery so i bought a new battery and they put it in and told me everything was fine again it just needed a new battery. they told me everything was reading fine but in my opinion that was because it was feeding off the juice of a new battery. about 2 hours after leaving the dealer the same thing happen again with a new battery while i was driving. the abs light came on the car slowed down this time the meters went crazy then it cut off. only by the grace of god that no one was injured with my car cutting off while i'm driving. i called the dealer and they were not willing to do anything different and they told me my vin number is not under a recall. i called nissan consumer affairs after a week of waiting and unreturned calls i finally talked to a regional manager from tennessee by the name of [xxx] only because i got transferred to him and all he told me was nissan will not help you out financially. he didn't discuss the issue or offer solutions and showed no concern for safety only money even though i never asked for it. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. while coming to a stop at an unknown speed, the vehicle accelerated when the brake pedal was repeatedly depressed. the vehicle failed to decelerate and crashed into a brick building. the front passenger sustained injuries to the chest and both knees. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a mechanic and for severe front end damage. the building was also damaged. prior to the crash, the front driver and passenger side windows along with all four power door locks activated independently while the vehicle was parked. the vehicle was being repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 76,000.

The intelligent key system and the key fob do not unlock the doors consistently. they do not unlock the driver or front passenger doors at all, and from time to time will unlock the rear doors. we have been experiencing this for over a year. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that while traveling various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the alternator wires had failed and the battery was unable to be charged. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the manufacturer's recall. the failure mileage was 121,923.

My vehicle caught fire as i proceeded to pull away from a curbside parking space. i turned my wheel to the far left as i proceeded away from the curb and that is when i heard a pop sound, saw white smoke spewing from the front right side of the vehicle, then i saw the flames. five days prior to the incident, i had front brake pads and resurfaced rotors placed on the vehicle. within the past 30 days the only other maintenance performed on the vehicle was a standard oil change. *tr

Passenger door, passenger-side rear door, driver-side rear door and trunk door will not unlock while pressing the key fob twice. manually unlocking the doors by using the keyhole on the outside of the driver door does not solve the above problem. manually unlocking the doors by using the driver / passenger side unlock button on the armrest does not solve the above problem. trunk door cannot be opened with any of the above means due to absence of manual lock/unlock lever on the exterior of the door. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. the technician diagnosed that the alternator was defective and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. the contact was also advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v319000 (electrical system). the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 119,433 and the current mileage was 119,633. *tr

First my driver door lock would work and then it wouldn't. next the same thing happened with the lift gate lock and now it doesn't work at all so i had a repair shop replace the hatch lock and it still doesn't work. *tr

Passenger door does not lock or unlock from the outside. rear hatch door does not unlock and will not open. i checked online and there are hundreds of complaints about nissan murano lock actuators posing problems and not working. nissan dealerships charge approximately $500 to fix each actuator, which seems extremely unfair considering it appears to be such a common defect. this is not only an unnecessary and preventable problem, but can be an extremely safety hazard. *tr

In mid jan, 2013 i noticed that after locking with the key fob, the front door remained unlocked, and would not lock from inside the car with either the individual lock control or the whole car lock control. the only way to lock the door is with your key, from the outside. in the event of an accident you do not have the added safety of a locked drivers door. all other doors are operating correctly at this time. the web seems to be filled with other problems like this and i wonder if they realize the danger they face when all doors are not locked in the event of an accident. *tr

The locks on the doors will sporadically lock or unlock and i am afraid my child may get locked in the car one day if keys are left in passenger seat when walking around vehicle to get child. this poses a serious threat to children or anyone in an unsure environment. *tr

Nissan murano door actuators have failed on 2 of 4 doors, leaving me unable to enter/exit my vehicle with the remote. in addition, i cannot open the trunk of the vehicle unless the passenger door actuator is working, which it does not. the inside door locks do not move, so i do not know if my car is ever locked or unlocked, again, safety concern. please investigate this, as i know other owners have complained and nissan continues to ignore this as an issue!!! *tr

2005 nissan murano sl with only 58,000 miles on it has the seat defect where it is stuck and won't move forward and back. it appears that the bracket system attachment to the floor has become broken. this is a dangerous manufacture defect that can cause accidents and the car to be unable to drive. the repair for this is quoted at $1,500. nissan should recall these and fix them on their own cost, not the consumer. *tr

nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. it's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. the drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. this failure is an intermittent of operation. sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. in addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. and the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. i can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. in emergencies every second counts. the locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. this shouldn't be, nissan should recall them. it's only a matter of time till someone gets robbed, hurt or killed from a malfunctioning door lock, disabling the security which the driver "thinks" he has when he locks the car. it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. *tr

Door lock actuators began to fail in our 2005 nissan murano. they stopped responding suddenly and when we thought the car was locked, it was in fact opened, which is a safety issue. it is a very common issue and usually all actuator go out at the same time. we have replaced driver's door actuator (that cost us $400) and now have to deal with other 3. hopefully nissan will recognize this as a serious problem and will issue a recall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan murano. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. the failure recurred numerous times while the contact was in traffic. the vehicle was taken to the mechanic where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the alternator. the failure alternator was replaced three times but the failure was not corrected. the manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 05v319000 (electrical system). the failure mileage was 101,239 and the current mileage was 120,151.

First the passenger side electric door locks were failing to lock or unlock, within weeks both rear locks started failing! this is a very major safety concern for my wife and daughter. plus in the drive the other night it didn't lock and someone got in and vandalized the interior and took personal items. *tr

We have a 2005 nissan murano that has had the door lock actuators fail repeatedly since we've owned the car. when the locks fail, the doors and rear hatch can not be opened or locked with either the remote fob or the electric controls on the doors. they need to be opened manually by releasing the locking lever by hand. often when they fail the rear hatch can not be opened because there is not a manual release this is extremely dangerous and is a known problem with this style of door lock actuator. nissan is aware of this issue and has deemed the repair out of warranty even though this problem has occurred while under warranty and ever since. the individual actuator for each door approaches $500 in cost. they've advised to not have this problem, buy a new vehicle which is not acceptable. there are numerous instances of internet complaints on this issue. general motors ignored their problems for years and nissan is effectively ignoring this problem. the design of the lock actuator itself is defective and needs to be replaced with a better designed component. *tr
