I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my hood flew up onto my windshield. it was very frightening... i don't understand how this can happen when the hood is latched shut.
Dashboard melting and produces glare making it difficult to see when driving in sunlight.
I tried to release the hood by way of pulling the interior latch, it did not open. i called the dealership they told me to bring it in the next day. i got out of the car and pressed on it (to be sure it was closed) and drove away from the gas station. i was driving 30 miles per hour when the hood let go and hyperextended and flew up in front of me and i was unable to see anything.
While driving on i95 the car shut off and was steered very difficultly to the off ramp and the side of the road. smoke started to come out of the front of the car and i exited the car and the car proceeded to be engulfed in flames burning the front half of the car to the front seats. fire rescue arrived to put out the fire.1116
Got 2005 nissan altima 2.5 s, recently came to find out that my car has a feet sized rust holes showing floor carpet beneath driver and passenger seats. these rust holes at the bottom of car were not only causing safety risk for people in the car but also sends fumes, carbon monoxide, foul smells, humidity and road noise into the car interior causing health risks. i am very disappointed at quality of nissan's automotive and nissan authorized dealers who never informed about this defect after performing multi point inspections, even when my car was within extended warrranty period. i really hope to get justification.
Have a 2013 nissan altima, low mileage. pulling out of driveway and noticed the back end of car was swerving as if i was on ice. i pulled over tire was not flat and nothing was stuck by the tire. no ice was on the road. i pulled down a little further on rode and the right rear end collapsed. the tire was sitting bent outward . when i looked under the car a metal bar was cracked in half. i called my son in law who is familiar with car repair and he and a mechanic stated it was the right rear control arm that had huge amount of corrosion and had broken in half. i called nissan dealer in wausau wisconsin and they stated no recalls or service action is in place. had i gone 5 minutes more down the road i would have been on a major highway at 65 miles and hour and believe i would have rolled the car and been in the ditch. i usually drive my 2 grandchildren in the car with me but today thank god they were at home. i found thru your website that nissan has been aware of this ...
I was driving my car (2013 nissan altima) last week all of the sudden without prior notice the rear lower control arm cracked down. i was in motion but luckly not in a highway. the car was traveling about 20 miles/h. i lost control of the car but didn't cause injuries or accidents. i had to tow the car home.
Floor rusting out on front driver & passenger side. broken frame in rear. just bought car. upon fixing floor on driver side, discovered larger hole on passenger side. thought issue in back was suspension, but but upon inspection broken frame.
One day my hood latch came open while driving and now it won't even open up at all
Saw something hanging from under the car. got on my knees to see, and found a loose piece of metal about 4 inches square. googled 2005 altima rusted floor iboards, and found out i have the same problem as many others. upon further investigation i saw rusted hole in floorboards
