The brace that connects the bottom of the set to the mechanism that pivots as the height of the seat is adjusted had a weld that failed / cracked. this seems very similar to the 17v082000 nhtsa campaign that effected the same model year car, except this is a power seat instead of a manual seat. the part that failed is in the same location of the seat frame and appears to serve the same purpose that was recalled under 17v082000. the result is the same, the seat is becoming detached from the frame and inclines making it difficult to maintain a safe driving position.
2010 mazda 3. consumer writes in regards to paying for recall related repairs. consumer is seeking reimbursement for repairs. *ld *js
My mazda 3 2010 has about 3 recalls. i have been contacting the local dealership to do the recalls since last year, but due to my schedule, i cannot make it during the weekdays. now this month, when i looked at the recall letters, i found out i should do the recalls very soon, but i had hard time to get day off during the weekdays, so i was asking the dealership to schedule me for weekends. but they refused. i know this is a free service, but how can they only give us schedule for weekdays and refuse to do the work for weekends. this is about safety. i don't drive this car often, but i still want this to be done. i think it is wrong that the dealership refuse recalls service. i don't think they will refuse the service that pay them money. very bad experience! i think the government should monitor this. because they refusing the weekends service, a lot people may hold off their recalls just like me, which may cause problem for the road safety. the name of the dealership is: martin mazda address: 289 e cleveland ave, newark, de 19711 phone:(302) 738-5200
Seat tracks broken - mazda usa customer experience rep said that the driver seat assembly (track, bolts, etc...) in my 2010 mazda3 are expected to wear and damage for a second time within the 68k miles i have driven this car since i bought it brand new back in aug. of '09. the track was replaced after 34k miles. now 34k miles later, the track is broken again and i have a quote to have it replaced. mazda is stating this type of wear and damage is expected to happen to this part of the car and is normal. recent mazda service location visited disagrees. they agree with me that this is a safety hazard, not a normal wear issue. mazda usa does not agree this is safety related and will not help to remedy.
I've scheduled the recall repairs three times ,with three different mazda dealerships, since june 2018, when my hatchback smashed against my head (pictures attached). each time a day or two before the scheduled recall repairs each dealership had called and canceled the recall repairs with no availability on a reschedule date available. this is completely unacceptable. i attempted to reschedule the recall repairs today august 21,2019 , there is no dates available at any mazda dealerships within 100 miles of my location for more than one year from now. so in my opinion this is mazda completely failing to complete a timely repair on mazda recalls. *tt *tr
The seat is not secure to the frame or something, rocks like a rocking chair

Mazda recall i keep receiving recall notices from brookdale mazda about the seat height adjustment lifter link. i have received at least 4-6 of them in the mail. when i call or use a chat line i am told that the service dept. will call me back. yea, right. i haven't received a call, e-mail or mailer (other than the ones telling me that there is a recall) where do i turn to now? mazda doesn't seem to care!
I took my 2010 mazda3 in for recall of seat link adjusters and to service my melting dashboard that causes an unsafe glare on the windshield while driving in sunny conditions. the dealership verified the recall and service in may 2017 and was informed that parts will need to be ordered. was told that i would receive a call back in a week or two. after several repeated attempts at calling and emailing the dealership, i cannot reach the service department to check on the status of ordered parts. the time frame for the repair from the unsafe conditions of the driver's seat that moves while i shift, and the horrendous glare from the melting dashboard, is to slow for resolution. it has been 3 months since having my car inspected at rosenthal mazda/gaithersburg mazda at 625 north frederick avenue in gaithersburg, md 20879. i have not received any response of communications informing me of the status of getting my car repaired or my rights as a consumer.

The seat adjuster on my 2010 sgt mazda3 broke one day as i was getting in, and now the seat moves every time i brake or accelerate. i took this to the dealer and the technician confirmed that it is the exact same issue as nhtsa campaign number: 17v082000. however, because my specific vin isn't captured, they wanted $1000 (after discount from corporate customer service) to fix it. i feel that given the dealer technician confirmed it is the exact same issue, the recall should be expanded to include my vin and those similar.

Recall part for seat lifter link has failed. the driver seat slants in the forward left direction and rocks/shifts excessively during shifting. over 75 days have passed since my vehicle recall part was inspected by the dealership. they have stated the part is on back order. after approximately 60 days, i contacted the corporate warranty department for mazda. they say that there is no way to expedite the process of replacing the failed part.

My driver's seat rocks back and forth as if a link or screw is missing. i took it to keffer mazda in huntersville, nc for them to look at it along with my sticky dash board over two months ago. they replaced my dash but stated they didn't have the part for my seat. i was told they would get in touch with me about the seat. i have called three times since and they appear to be ignoring me. this rocking has been going on for about four months of less. something just popped one day and the rocking happened.
Front left seat support under driver's seat broke loose, causing entire seat to tilt backward during acceleration on a city street. only a firm grip on the steering wheel prevented me from losing control of the vehicle. only after searching on the web did i find an existing recall for seat "inspection". no contact from manufacturer about this recall.
Got in my car, started backing out of the driveway, heard a loud pop under the driver's seat, and noticed the front left part of the seat was pulling up from the frame by an inch or two. upon closer inspection i noticed the weld that secures the seat to the frame broke. i am not a large guy (~170 lbs) nor am i rough with the seat. after a bit of searching, it seems this is a rather widespread issue with 2010 mazda 3s and it obviously a safety concern.
Mazda recall #: 0917b nhtsa recall #: 17v-082 while car was off/stationary, i sat in the driver's seat and heard a pop as the seat rocked backward. looked under the seat and saw that two brackets had snapped. it now forces an unsafe driving position since the seat no longer stays in place. it leans backwards freely and is clearly unsafe for driving because there is no support whatsoever for the driver. it was parked in my driveway. i contacted mazda factory service after having a local service center inspect the problem and they determined that it is not a part of the recall. i would like to know how this happens and how it is possible that it is unrelated to this recall.

While driving at roughly 40 mph, i heard a "pop" from the driver seat area. the seat started rocking significantly when the car changed speed. this was distracting and affected my ability to steer, a safety concern. the problem was a "front seat adjuster unit" which the dealer replaced at a cost of roughly $900.00. *tr
Driver's seat lifter adjustments broken (recall notice has been sent but when i went to dealer in mid-february 2017 was told they didn't have the part, and would call me back when it arrived). as of today, 10/26/17, i have not been called to tell me the part is in.
The welds on the front seat attachments have snapped off.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 mazda mazda3. the contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the front driver's side seat tilted forward independently and then detached from the track. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 118,000. the vin was unavailable.
Copied from an existing complaint because i had the exact same problem: the swing arm that attaches the driver's seat to the left-side seat runner unexpectedly detached. close inspection revealed that this was caused by a weld failure / metal fatigue at the point where the arm was welded to the rod that runs below the cushion. the seat is now unstable and rocks in an alarming way, both when accelerating and decelerating. the failure occurred with a popping noise as i prepared to pull away from a parking spot.
Takata recall, i hear some noises from the seat.

Frame bracket broke while driving in town on the front driver seat causing the seat to rock completely back
My drivers side seat bracket has broken causing the seat to rock slightly. also, the dashboard appears to be melting with a shiny sticky spot.
The driver seat of my car unexpectedly detached from seat mount during normal use, the driver seat fell backward on to the back seat, leaving my car non-functional. for safety reasons, i had my car towed to the dealership, a distance of approximately 25 miles. i was pleased that the service rep made an effort to check to see if there were other similar repairs reported. he told me that there were none found. however, later i found out that there were forty-nine other consumer complaints made to your office, nhtsa, regarding the driver seat in this same make, model and year mazda. i hope that the office of defects investigation (odi) considers opening an investigation to remedy the defect in this group of vehicle, and, the unreasonable safety risk it has on public safety.
Driver seat flips backwards - cannot drive the vehicle.
Drivers seat broke loose. was at a stop light. when i started my left turn the seat suddenly rocked back and then slammed forward. i almost lost control as my foot had come off the gas pedal during the rock back and then stepped back on it as i was thrown forward forward. the car has always had a clicking noise coming from the drivers side seat.
Part of the metal mounting that holds the driver's seat front left side in place broke, and now the seat rocks. this happened while the vehicle was stationary. the seat is now secured at three points rather than 4, and i'm concerned about the strength of the other front mounting point. seems like a significant safety complaint, and a quick check online indicates that this is a widespread, known issue with the 2010 mazda 3.
I was driving with friends in the car on the highway to get some dinner. 70 is our speed limit. all of sudden i heard a snap under me and my body shifted. i sit pretty up right so i felt moving back at least two inches and my hand shift position as well which almost cause a accident. i call the dealer today, "you're not under warranty, sorry" really? i almost die in a car you guys sell me and i get a sorry? it was either get it fix or play when the other side of the seat bracket is going to snap.
The driver's seat breaks away from the floor of the vehicle when sitting in the seat causing the driver to have to lean forward or else the seat rocks way back causing the driver to hold themselves upright. during a fast acceleration or quick stop the chair exhibits characteristics that can only be called unsafe and unsettling to the driver. i can only imagine how the seat will hold up in the event of a collision or accident. the vehicle was parked when this was first noticed.
Steering wheel locking up while driving, unable to turn the car
I noticed that my seat was rocking on the left side and would lift up. when i got down on the floor board to see what was going on i noticed that one of the front welds was completely broke off and laying on the floor board. while taking my daughter to daycare this morning, i went to accelerate and the other side of my seat broke and my entire seat went back, almost causing me to get into an auto accident when i lost control of the car. not only was my and my 3 yr old daughters safety at risk, but i now have lost a day of work until this can be fixed. as if this was not enough, i spoke with mazda corp. (1-800-222-5500) about 3 weeks ago b/c my dashboard is totally melted. the representative was very nice and mazda is going to replace my dashboard after years of the run around at the dealership. the bigger issue: how is it that mazda is involved in a class action law suit for their dash boards melting, and they have plenty of complaints filed in the nhtsa website for faulty seat welds, and there is no recall on either of these things???????????????? why??????????? do lives have to be lost for the government to do a recall????
Seat welds broke while driving. driver seat is now no longer attached to the car.
The weld on the bottom of the driver's seat, which attaches the seat to the sliding rails, has broken. this happened when i was accelerating as the traffic light turned green. the seat is now very loose and is rocking back and forth. i have to hold on the steering wheel while accelerating or braking to keep from tipping over. this is an obvious safety issue. after doing a little research on the internet, it's obvious that this is a common problem with the 2010 mazda3. yet mazda refuses to acknowledge the problem and do something about it. i went to the mazda dealer and was quoted $582 dollars just for the parts on the bottom of the seat, which needed to be replaced. this does not include the labor cost. i also went to the mazda website and filed a complaint. three weeks have passed and no one from mazda has contacted me. all i received was an automated email saying "due to the unusually large number of emails received our response time may be delayed". i don't think mazda will ever respond.
