I own a 2010 mazda 3 i-touring and i began to notice around the summer of 2014 that the top of my dashboard on the driver side started to melt. since it first started it has greatly expanded in size- it's beginning to cross over to the passenger side. it's also leaving a sticky residue on the dash that hinders my ability to clean it nor can i put up any sun visors to protect the rest of the interior because the visors will stick to the dash. if i'm driving in direct sunlight the dashboard emits a horrify glare on the windshield that has me worried that, as time goes on, driving will become unsafe. *tr
The dashboard is melting. the reflection from the melting, shiny, dashboard can make driving difficult at times because the reflections from the dashboard onto the front windshield can negatively affect visibility. *tr
The dashboard on my 2010 mazda3 hatchback is melting and sticky. while driving towards the sun, the glare from the shiny sticky area reflects onto the windshield and makes it very difficult to see out. in fact, i didn't even notice the sticky melting dash at first, what i noticed first was the fact that i was having difficulty seeing out of the windshield. i take very good care of my car. i have not used a bunch of cleaners on the dash in the past. i do use a sun shade in the windshield when parked. *tr
The dashboard on my mazda 3 seems to be melting in hot weather. when the sun shines directly on the dash, it causes a horrible glare on the windshield making it very difficult to see what is directly in front of me. it is the worst in afternoon sunny weather. *tr
Dashboard melting which causes glare while driving. *tr
Dashboard is melting, creating a shiny surface that creates a severe glare and inhibits vision. this is more than just a cosmetic issue. mazda refused to fix the problem for my 2010 mazda3 with only 47000 miles on it. *tr
There is an area of approximately 6" wide of dashboard that is melting directly above the steering wheel. when driving, the sun shines directly on the melted parts and causes a glare which prevents me from seeing the road clearly. *tr
I bought my 2010 mazda 3 brand new. now that i have paid it off, i've noticed the dashboard starting to melt right above the steering wheel. this started over the summer and has become worse spreading over a rather large portion of my dash. and while this may look like an undesirable black tar mess, it's actually a very large safety issue as it's impeding upon my visibility. the glare on a bright sunny day has been so bad that i've had to put my head out the window in order to see. i could drive perhaps another way, or wait until there is no sun, but that is not how my life works. i don't understand why there is not a recall about this safety issue. *tr
As an owner of a 2010 mazda 3 over the past year i have been noticing a sticky film on my dashboard. it has become increasingly worse and i realized my dashboard is melting!! it causing a blindspot due to the reflection of the sun. i have not suffered any damage yet but clearly this is faulty on behalf of mazda and they should replace the dashboard as it is a safety hazard. *tr
Dashboard is melted, causing extreme glare during the daytime. the glare from the melted dashboard is difficult to see through and causes safety and visibility issues while driving.
Dashboard is melting and causing glare on windshield. continues to get progressively worse with the heat. visibility getting worse as well. *tr
Dashboard melting. *tr
The dashboard on my 2010 mazda 3 began melting at the beginning of the year. over time, more of the dashboard has become sticky and shiny. sometimes the shininess is so reflective that it makes it difficult for me to see when i am driving on a sunny day. the vehicle resides in hawaii and is kept in a garage when not in use. *tr
The dashboard is melting!! it appears that it is deteriorating causing visibility issues. it is becoming sticky and apparently is a manufacturer defect. as the sun glares down on the windshield, the suns' rays bounce off the shiny dashboard causing me to lose vision in traffic. the mazda dealer is not wanting to replace it stating it is out of warranty. they want me to pay over $400 for the labor and 50% of the part. i even called the mazda hq and they refuse to cover the damage, stating they could do nothing better than the offer the dealership gave me. i requested to speak to higher up management at corporate but was told by the representative that nobody could assist me further. this is so absurd!!! please help before i have an accident. *tr
The dashboard is melting on the mound above the steering wheel, in direct line of view of road and continues to spread. sticky glue type texture that never dries. unable to put a sun blocker in the vehicle to contain the spreading issue and while driving it creates glare. *tr
I have had my vehicle for almost 4 yrs.the dashboard started to melt in 2013. it creates a shiny reflection on the front glass which becomes very irritating unable to see clearly. *tr
Bought this car used in june 2013, and noticed in november of 2013 it started to become sticky on the dashboard as if it is melting.. didnt really become an issue until it began to glare into my windshield causing me to be unable to see. i cannot clean, or touch any part of the dashboard because it is so melted and sticky it sticks to my hands if i do. it is in my direct view of where i should be looking towards the road. huge issue that needs to be addressed. *tr
My dashboard is a sticky safety hazard. i cannot see in front of me while driving, seeing other cars and predestines is impossible with the glare from the dashboard on the window. mazda refuses to do anything about it. *tr
The dashboard is melting. it creates a horrible toxic nautious plastic smell. the melting of the dash creates a visual safety issue due to the intense reflective glare it creates from its now smooth surface. the glare bounces off the dash then reflects an intense glare off the windshield making the windshield difficult to see through.
My dashboard began to melt, and has continued to do so since. the dashboard is sticky and collections dust and grim. the melted material has a glossy shine which reflects a bright glare into the drivers eyes and onto the windshield. it is cosmetically unattractive and causes a driving hazard when operating the vehicle. *tr
Melting dashboard - causes awful glare in window at times of day. *tr
The dashboard on my 2010 mazda 3 started melting about two years ago becoming more sticky and reflective over time to point where it has a plastic, chemical smell emitting from it. moreover, it has become almost impossible to see out of the driver side window due to the severe reflection. this has progressively worsened over the past year. i am in disbelief that the manufacturer would use material for a dashboard that melts and emits chemicals. clearly, mazda chose to use inferior materials for the dashboard. considering the plethora of complaints and statements regarding the safety issue of limited visibility due to reflection, it is vastly irresponsible that mazda has not issued a recall to correct this problem. vehicle owners should not be left to seeking class action law suits to make mazda correct their mistake.
Dashboard is melting, which has made the surface highly reflective. this results in poor visibility when it reflects into the windshield. could lead to accident if it remains as-is. *tr
Black 2010 mazda 3, purchased used in december 2011; about a year and a half later the dash started getting sticky and now it is literally melting. i have never used any cleaning products on the interior of the car and when i do clean the inside of my car, i use a soft towel. now i cant even clean my dashboard, due to the stickiness and possibility of ruining it even more. the dash causes a severe glare while driving and i feel this lack of visibility is a hazard to the operator of the vehicle, passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians. *tr
This car mazda 3 i purchased in 2011 as a 2010 leftover new, and the dash board is melting creating everything to stick to it, and also obstructing my view through the windshield on sunny days due to the nature of how shiny it is. it looks like a wet down dash but the reflection is creating very difficult viewing problems on sunny days, due to the glare on the windshield from it. it is very dangerous. i would appreciate this being looked into. *tr
My dashboard is melting (and sticky) and is causing a significant glare on my windshield reducing my visibility. i am experiencing a lot of difficulty seeing out of my windshield since it is almost impossible to see out of it at times due to the glare. *tr
My dashboard is melting creating a glare on my windshield while driving. it started just as a small area it has now grown over the past few years getting sticky residue everywhere making it hard to clean. why should anyone have to pay to get a new dashboard or even have to get a dash pad?! this needs to be recalled for free.
My dashboard has been increasingly sticky for years now, despite all attempts to clean it. it has increased to the point of reflecting off of the dashboard and distracting me when i drive. i took it into the mazda dealership and they informed me that the dashboard is melting. i cannot imagine the chemicals are good to breathe in. *tr
Unable to see out front windshield due to glare from melting dashboard with sun hitting at certain angles. *tr
2010 mazda 3 dash panel/dashboard (p/n: bbm460400h02) is melting. the dash panel soft-touch coating material first turned sticky and eventually disintegrated into a viscous substance. surface finish turned from matte to high gloss. the now reflective dash surface causes a large glare on the windshield and obstructs driver's visibility. *tr
Dashboard getting very soft in the sun. always remains sticky and continues to leave residue on the windshield causing glare. *tr
My 2010 mazda 3 drives fine and does not have mechanical issues. the issue involves the interior dashboard. since it was made from some type of rubber, the sun has been melting it. aesthetically it doesn't look good, but while driving toward the direction of the sun, the glare it causes on my front windshield has been affecting my driving. i have spoken to a couple of people at a local mazda dealership and one ridiculous employee gave me recommendations such as to park my car in a garage, or under trees whenever possible. apart from those idiotic remarks, i will have to pay out-of-pocket due to the fact that i am now past my warranty. i previously owned a mitsubishi for 10 years and that never had issues along those lines. i have taken various photographs of how my vision is being obstructed and would happily send them to anyone i need to. the cheap rubber material used for the dashboard should not simply melt because of the sun. the sun will always be present, therefore these things should be taken into consideration during manufacturing. i would love to get this issue resolved before having to lose money and never deal with mazda again. overall i like the car, but i cannot stand the way the interior has diminished in such a short period of time. *tr
My dashboard melted. *tr
I own a 2010 mazda 3 and the dashboard has melted to the point that it produces a glare on the windshield right at eye level. i tried to have mazda replace it but they said because my warranty had expired they would not do it. i bought the car in 2010 any by 2012 it had started melting. this is clearly a safety hazard for me and everyone else on the road as sometimes it prevents me from seeing out the windshield at all. *tr
The front glass of the vehicle broken in a small holes. *tr
The dashboard of my mazda 3 is melted from the sun and causes glare on the windshield. it blocks vision of a portion of the road. *tr
