What a joke, i traded in my foreign car (which with 150,000 miles, i dumped probably a $1000 in total for repairs) for an american vehicle. my back window fell down and looking at a $500 bill to repair it, i took silicone window sealer and sealed the window shut. needless to say, my next vehicle will be one that has a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty like my last one did. i can't believe with all of the reports of window failures the manufacturer will not stand by their vehicle. they continually manufacture vehicles with obvious defects, but with 32,000 miles on the vehicle hit you up for $500 a "repair" bill. this is not a repair, it is extortion to fix something that was and continues to be a defect in workmanship and materials, as well as poor design. it irks me when american car makers whine and get bail-out money because their product is defective and "not the same workmanship" as a foreign vehicle. *tr
2006 jeep liberty, the motor for my windows are always breaking i have had to get them fixed 6 times now since i bought it in 2007 the fact that i have to drive an hour to the dealership every time and spend $106 to get them repaired not including the gas i have to spend on getting to this place is just pathetic. i have come across many people with the same complaint and im absolutely tired of going through the same thing not everyone has the time or money to be going through this and from what im getting jeep is not take responsibility in this ! *tr
'06 jeep liberty has window motor failure in all 4 windows. 2 window motors were replaced at dealership and have since also failed. dealership will not assist in repairs due to mileage over factory warranty limitations and replacement motors are warranted for 1 year. *all 4 window motors have failed, some multiple times. i have also experienced multiple electronic failures. dealership personnel stated to me that they have recognized constant complaints similar to mine, however they are unable to assist with problems. *tr
In july of last year (2006), i leased a 2006 jeep liberty. approximately 2 months later, one of my windows slipped down. i took it in for repairs. since then (16 months later), i have been in the repair shop for this exact reason 5 more times. my parents have the exact same vehicle, same year, and they are on their 6th window as well. after talking to the repair shops we both go to, we have found that this is a common occurrence. jeep has been contacted by us and by others. they are well aware of the problem. i believe that this is a safety issue on so many levels because the vehicle is vulnerable if the window is not up. *tr

On wednesday, september 5, 2007, at approximately 8:30pm both my husband and i got in our 2006 jeep liberty with only 9,188 miles to drive home. upon turning on the vehicle we turned up the air conditioner and heard a grinding sound. unsure of what the noise was, my husband turned down the air for a moment. as he turned the air back up the blower fan fell out of the dashboard and into the foot area of the passenger front seat where i was sitting. the blower fan was still turning as it made contact with my feet because it did not detach from the electrical wiring. the blower fan continued running until my husband shut off the vehicle. due to the fact that i was wearing sandals when the blower fan fell out of the dashboard my toes were severely lacerated and suffered abrasions. these injuries required me to seek medical attention. due to this injury i have had to miss work, as it is not possible for me to wear shoes, stand for any length of time, or sit without elevating my feet. this incident along with other multiple faulty window components, all of which are warranty items, cause us concern. particularly since the blower fan was a recalled part and had recently been replaced. we no longer feel that this vehicle is safe to operate and have contacted chrysler headquarters customer service call center for assistance and are awaiting an inspection. *tr

My latest jeep, a 2006 liberty (with fewer than 16000 miles), has gone to the shop 5 times for 5 broken windows (cables/regulators). they just rolled down one day and refused to roll back up again. the first window broke about one month after i purchased the suv. another of the windows has broken twice, within 6 months of the first "repair." then i had to take it in recently with two windows broken at the same time. it's ridiculous! *jb updated 10/10/07. *jb

Automatic windows keep coming out of their track. have had three of the four windows fixed and the same problem occurred. had the same windows replaced with a system involving replacing the whole window and the defected part inside of the door. two of the three windows were fixed for the second time out of warranty but now chrysler is stating i have to pay for the after market tint and they will reimburse me part of the price but cannot say how much until after i replace the window tint. *tr

I purchased my 2006 jeep liberty in january 2007. a few months later 3 of the automatic windows would not work. dealer replaced the actuator for free. since then 2 my windows have been stuck going up like they are off track. driver side front and back window need to have actuator replaced again. back driver side window fell completely down and won't roll up. passenger front window has needed new actuator because it sometimes won't roll up. i will be finally taking it back to the dealer and hopefully getting the actuators replaced for free since they have been defective the entire time i have owned the car. there are lots of little pieces here and there that fall off the car and little things that don't work. it is really a very cheaply made car. *tr

I purchased a 2006 jeep liberty in tampa, fl september of 2006. this vehicle was purchased brand new, with approx 24 miles on it at the time of purchase. since my purchase the rear window regulators fail 5 times as of the current date. 4 times the dealership in fl fixed without any cost to me. when this happened 9/15/2010 for the 5th time (3rd time on the same window) i called the local jeep dealership and spoke to the service manager :explained the issue & wanted to know when i could bring it to the dealership to be repaired. he went on to tell me this: 'you can bring it in anytime, there is a $100 deductible to have this fixed. ' ( i questioned why, as this was an obvious defect on the manufacturer) he responded 'that is what the charge is, just be glad that this has not happened to all of your windows, this is a common problem with the 2002- current jeep liberty. jeep is aware of the problem, but they are not going to issue a recall, nor are they going to do anything about it.' (i was shocked that i would be told this) 'if you don't like this well, call chrysler yourself, here is the number 1-800-992-1997.' after i hung up the phone with him, i called the original dealership in florida to get the exact dates of the repairs. right rear- 1/28/08 left rear- 12/20/2006, 7/8/2008, and 8/13/09. i did call chrysler and spoke to someone, received a case number, and was told that someone would contact me in 24-48 hours with some sort of resolve to this. (that was thursday morning.) i received a call from the case manager at chrysler friday around 9:50am. there was a message left to call back, or i could wait for them to call me back on monday. called back, spoke 2 gretchen: sai the case manager had put notes in the case with the following: i had to pay the $100 up front and i could submit all the documents to be reimbursedasked to speak to the case manager and was transferred to matt (whom i thought was the case manager). *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. she stated that the rear door window became stuck and she was forced to physically pull the window open with her hand. the left front and rear window regulator also failed when she rolled the window down. the failure occurred on three times. the windows also roll down automatically by themselves and would not close. the dealer stated that they would repair the window failures per the warranty which there were 3 repairs on the regulators. the failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 36,000.
My 2006 jeep liberty started experiencing power window problems around nov 06. all 4 power windows would not roll down or they would roll down part of the way then get stuck and wouldn't roll back up. it was a safety concern when they were stuck open. it was also an issue in drive-through situations and other typical scenarios where you would roll down a window. a local chrysler service dept repaired it repeatedly from 2006 until they closed in early 2009, then another chrysler service department made the last repair in july 2009. repairs ranged from re-wiring the windows to completely replacing the internal electronic system. *tr
This problem with the window regulators has been an ongoing problem since we bought this car new. the dates of repair are as follow from newest to oldest, 10/10/11,10/22/10,9/30/10,8/10/09,3/13/08,12/11/07,4/10/07,4/5/07,3/16/07,1/24/07,11/07/06,11/03/06. we have taken this car to the dealer this many times for the same problem. we have never paid a penny for the repairs. the manufacturer is now asking us to pay 100$ saying is a warranty issue. the problem is that they know they have a defective part but cannot fix it. they have recalled on some models of this car. ours is not included in this recall. this trip for us to take this car in for the initial check is 230 miles then we have to wait for the authorization of repairs to take it back is another 230 miles. it is not reasonable for us to pay for the manufacturers faulty parts. we are out of pocket 12 times for the time and gas to go over there. this window regulator is defective and when it snaps the window rod breaks jams the door locking mechanism the door then will not stay closed or it will not open. we are also filing claims with the consumer affairs and national transportation safety board. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. the driver side rear window fell down. the dealer replaced the window. after the window was repaired it stop operating. the dealer replaced the wire and the window dropped half way off of the track. no repairs were made. the engine was turned on at the time of all the failures occurred. the incidents happened without warning. the failure mileage was 8,913. the current mileage was 19,699. updated 4/7/08 *cn updated 04/07/08 *tr
Right rear window fell down while car was parked. because this happened the the left rear window in 2009, i immediately called chrysler customer service who instructed me to take it to the dealer for a diagnosis, which confirmed the regulator needed to be replaced. once again this is a door that is seldom used and the window is almost never used. *kb

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. the contact stated that the component for the power windows snapped. as a result, the windows roll down, but will not roll back up. the failure previously occurred to the driver's side rear and front passenger side windows, which were repaired. currently, the rear passenger side window is not working. the vehicle is being taken to the dealer for repair. the failure mileage was 7,000. updated 062909 *bf the consumer stated the dealer fixed the problem. updated 07/07/09.*jb
Where to begin...we have had the windshield washer reservoir replaced twice, all 4 window motors and one of them twice, air conditioner twice, some small pinion or some device that took all power from the vehicle, plus the recalls, all the directionals on the air vents, i have had this car in the shop so much, that i think in another 6 months i will have a brand new car again....i am just thankful it is under warranty...but this car has burnt us on jeep!! *tr
Window mechanism failed while driving and window came open unexpectedly. all windows have failed multiple times since purchasing the vehicle new. each time, jeep replaces the mechanism with the same faulty parts. this is a safety hazard, because windows falling open while driving is a shock to the driver and causes a distraction, especially in bad weather. it also prevents parking the vehicle safely, because the vehicle is not secure. *js
Front power windows fall out of track while going up requiring the driver to remove hands from the steering wheel to make correction. windshield wipers which are supposed to be on their own fuse according to manual quit working if the radio fuse blows. *nm
Our jeep liberty has had the left rear window repaired 3 times and it fell down again yesterday. the right rear has been repaired twice. the sunroof repaired once and the battery/electrical repaired three times. this doesn't count the windshield repaired twice because of leaks. i t appears the windows fall down about every 3-4 months. *tr
From the first day that i bought the 2006 jeep liberty, the driver side window "fell" off the track, requiring me to manually push the window back into place before the window would close correctly. in addition, a few months into owning the jeep, a piece of rubber fell off of the driver side door/window area. during a recall repair, i advised the dealer of the broken window and the piece of rubber that had fallen from the vehicle. although the window was supposedly fixed and the rubber piece put back on the vehicle, the window again began to fall off the track within a week of the repair. the rubber piece also fell off from the driver side door/window again, also within weeks of the repair. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. the contact stated that the windows would suddenly roll down at any time. the contact pulled the window apart and noticed that the window regulator had failed on all windows. the vehicle had not been inspected when the complaint was filed. the vin was unavailable at the time of the complaint. the failure mileage was approximately 39,000. the current mileage was approximately 42,000.
