Multiple times my vehicle would not recognize the key fob to open the doors when getting into the vehicle, nor start the vehicle. the display says it does not detect the key. it is in my purse and sometimes it can detect it other times it does not. we have replaced the batteries and this still continues to happen randomly. the bluetooth constantly says the signal strength is weak. when i look at my phone the signal strength is strong on the phone. *tr

My 2012 jeep grand cherokee suddenly began having problems starting. since mar 7th there have been 3 incidents in which pressing the start button caused the engine to turn over but not start. all 3 incidents were situations in which i was trying to restart the car within 30 minutes of previously turning the car off. 2 of the 3 incidents occurred within 15 minutes of turning the car off. for example, i forgot to bring an item with me from my house, turned the car off and went in the house to retrieve the forgotten item. then, when trying to restart the car the engine would turn over but no ignition from the cylinders. subsequent repeated efforts to start the car were futile, but if i waited 30 minutes or more the car would start up. this problem creates difficulty for anyone doing a short errand such as buying something from a convenience store or dropping the kids off for school. i read that chrysler will be issuing a recall on the fuel pump relay, i hope this helps. i am filing this complaint to make sure my name gets included among those that need repairs. thanks. *tr

I have had my grand cherokee for 1.5 yrs and have had an intermittent start issue since i got it. it started out once or twice every couple months. in the last 3 weeks it will not start for me multiple times per day. this is a very annoying problem and i had it at a dealer for 2 days and they can't get it to duplicate. the alternator recall was performed and they also added the external fuel pump relay outside of the tipm. they fail to acknowledge any sort of problem because my vehicle has no codes when they run diagnostics on it. since they have added this external fuel pump relay (which i see is going to be in a recall) the vehicle would not start after i made my first stop and shut te vehicle off. this happened right after i left the dealer. the dealer has provided me with no resolution and will not do anything further until they get their codes in the diagnostics. my vehicle is an early model 2012 and the dealer even looked at my tipm and compared to a 2011 tipm, it was the same tipm in my vehicle compared to the 2011 model. i wish fiat/chrysler would get it together and recognize this problem in other model years besides the ones recalled. *tr

Car occasionally does not start when the push button start is used. other times the car goes into a long crank. the only way to stop this is to cycle through options by pushing the push button start several times and try again. sometimes the car starts, other times i have to do this several times before the car starts. *tr

Vehicle was brought in to dealer on 3/24/15 for stalling issues and other safety recalls. car had not started on at least 4 occasions up until 3/24/25. i was told the key fob batteries needed to be replaced and that may fix the issue. i paid to have both batteries replaced. on 5/4/15 i brought the vehicle back to the dealer because the not starting issue had become more extreme. it occurred 8 times since the 3/24/15 service and on one occasion it would not accelerate while i was driving on a highway. there was an extreme delay and suddenly the car reacted and lurched forward. this was the first time it had ever done this. additionally, on one occasion of not starting it continued to chug instead of just not reacting. dealer advised again that one of the key fobs needed to have a battery replaced (both were replaced the previous month) and that they didn't have parts for the safety recall. headquarters advised they would let me know in a few weeks or months when the parts would be available. the problems is rapidly getting worse and there are indications that there may be issues while i am driving it as well. i have asked for escalation and something even a temporary fix be done. no response from headquarters yet. *tr

After owning my 2012 jeep grand cherokee for only 1 single day (purchased with 35,004 miles on 2/11/15), i was unable to start it after 6-7 push start attempts with the brake pedal properly pressed down. after putting it in neutral and pulling it to the side of a hill,i put the vehicle back into park and once again tried and it started up. based on research online, it looks as though this is identical to the recall for the 2011 model and the defective tipm (totally integrated power module) needing to be replaced. the alternator recall (p60) for 2012 jeep grand cherokees is not yet available (yet it was announced by chrysler in october 2014) and could also be a factor to this intermittent start issue. *tr

Vehicle stalled while stopped at stop light. when started, idled very rough and stalled again. car was towed to dealer. dealer indicated failure in fuel pump relay. repair involves disabling of fuel pump relay in totally integrated power module (tipm) and installing external fuel pump relay. failure also resulted in failure of valve spring. the repair regarding the fuel pump is identical to the repair outlined in chrysler safety recall p54/nhtsa 14v-530, which per chrysler customer service rep is only applicable to 2011 vehicles and not 2012 vehicles. this fuel pump failure affects more vehicles than outlined by original recall. *tr
