Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2007 Jeep Commander

I tried to start my 2007 jeep commander and it would only click. i got a transmission over temperature message in the message center. all electrical components worked except the ignition. no odb codes appeared. the next day it started as if nothing is wrong. the following day it failed to start again. at this time this has happened a total of 5 times. i have gone on the jeep commander forum and found that i am not the only one having this problem. some commander owners have been stranded due to this problem. some owners have spent large amounts of money trying to get this problem resolved, with no success. there should be an investigation into this problem. *tr

I have a 2007 jeep commander, while driving on highway/ side streets vehicle completely shuts down. making it hard to brake and steer. very scary when your in traffic at 70 miles hr. and you come to a complete stop. took it in to chrysler dealer has no solution for this vehicle. all these problems surfaced after doing the drive controller module recall. got a second opinion and dealer gave me a list tune-up, coils, train service, etc. wow these dealers want to make some cash. had a third opinion and mechanic says all codes are related to module. now shouldn't dealer be aware of this and chrysler should be accountable. *tr

I am 74 years of age and at the time of my husband's death four years ago purchased a 2007 chrysler jeep commander which now has 53,815 miles. i began experiencing problems with unexpected complete loss of power on both interstate highways and residential streets over the last year. these occurrences have increased in frequency at varying times when driving within the last six months, and most terrifying on the interstate where i was faced with the realization of deceleration and cutoff at the speed limit of 55 mph. i received a safety recall notice (p41/nhtsa14v-38), round or about april 2, 2015 from chrysler group llc informing me of the vehicular problems described i am experiencing, chrysler group's recall notice makes a clear and specific representation that repairs would performed to correct the vehicle's defects free of charge when it is returned to the dealership. accordingly, southfield chrysler was contacted to schedule an appointment to diagnose the problem and ordered parts on or about april 6, 2015. i have been waiting for the part(s) for nearly three weeks. on april 24, 2015 i again contacted southfield chrysler after the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and was informed the manufacturer: "chrysler either will not, or has not, sent the parts need to fix the problem," contrary to the language of the notice. southfield chrysler will not perform repairs without payment for the parts. southfield chrysler has taken the position: "if i pay for repairs the manufacturer will reimburse me," which continues to leave me subjected to injure and/or death. i do not have the available funds to pay for repairs, relative to living on a fixed income and specific and very limited budget. it is clear to me that the manufacture and dealership will not perform responsibly to address a serious life and death that they are clearly aware exist. a complaint is proper. *tr

On 2/11/14 took vehicle into the chrysler dealership because of the starter motor not working properly and it had turned off while i was driving on several occasions. they had to replace the starter motor and i had to pay for it. after this the air bag light went on and i would think this is a safety issue and i should not had to pay for any of this. but i did. they told me they had to replace a short in the harness part #5143387aa. also, the said the driver seat belt was causing air bag light to go on. this was a defect. i believe that if these are recalls and safety issues from chrysler and i had to pay for them i would think that chrysler should reimburse me for taking care of these problems before something bad really happened. i am always maintaining my vehicle and i am very glad that i have taken care of these problems. i would appreciate a email back and hopefully a refund for paying for something that should have been a recall. i have all of my records and receipts if you need copies. thank you *tr

I pulled in my driveway, put my car in park and as i was turning off the key my car made horrible noise, and when i tried to restart the vehicle i had no power. i waited a few minutes and tried the key again, and the dash flicked off and on, off and on and it said transmission over temperature, check gauges, etc. this morning i tried again, and it said some code and then went completely dark today. about a month ago i was driving approximately 60 mph and my car just lurched shut off and restarted itself on a freeway. i talked to the tech - they did not know what it could be. reading there are several complaints about this. still not sure what is wrong with my car this time, i get it serviced regularly and obviously need to have it towed to a dealer to get checked out. *tr

Vehicle keeps loosing power shifts into n state, pdrn are highlighted with boxes and you have to wiggle shifter to regain power. message is: "service park assist". not sure if this is the same issue that the latest recall (13v175000) listed is however, my jeep doesn't seem to fall in the manufactured date range so i am making a formal complaint since this is kind of low miles to have this kind of an issue with this vehicle and it is happening with my manufactured date vehicle. *jb

The ignition switch position makes unintended position changes while driving. this has happened on several occasions and has resulted in two near-miss accidents. additionally, on occasion, the switch won't allow the car to start, and all power is dead despite a new battery. we have been dealing with this issue for a long time. received recall notice in sept 2014, but chrysler contends that part is still not available, and that the car is safe to drive. this car is not safe to drive! i have called chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403 multiple times and have waited for an hour on a couple of occasions without a pick up. this is also not acceptable. please help! *tr

I purchasedmy 2007jeepcommander on august05,2013 with 117,578 miles on it. within a week, i was driving approx. 30 mphwheninoticedthevehiclefeelinglike it had a hard time accelerating, whenitslowed down completely but did not shut off. panicking, i kept pressingtheacceleratorandmovedtheshifter out of gear when the vehicle jerked and resumed back up to speed. a few days later the vehicle, while traveling at approximately 50 mph completely slowed down again but did not come to a complete stop and service park assist illuminated onthedashboardwithall the gears lit up at the same time as if saying the jeep was in all gears at the same time. within a couple of hours the check engine light came on. i brought the vehicle to a repair shop, were they scanned the code and told me it wasn't a "real code" probably a computer malfunction and it should turn off on its own, which it did, a day later. this has happened at least 8 different times throughout the 5 months of owning this vehicle. finally i looked onlinefor recalls, there is a power-train and electrical recall for the time my jeep was manufactured, explaining all the same troubles i've been having, however when i called chrysler customer service, i was advised i had a side airbag recall but nothing on power-train.when i told the representative that the warranty was for my vehicle in the time it was manufactured she told me it wasn't in the system and that if i wanted it fixed i would have to go to the dealership pay for it and keep my receipt and when chrysler came out with a recall for my jeep i could come forward. meanwhile, i'm driving around in a documented unsafe vehicle with my 18 month old in the back and i have to either wait for this car to cause an accident or enough people complain and they issue another recall. please help, i just want this vehicle to be safe for my children. *tr
