Chrysler sent us a safety recall notice in september 2014 but after contact both a dealer and chrysler directly they claim that they do not have the part available to repair the defect. it has been over a year and the vehicle engine has died while my husband was driving it at least four times; the last time he was on the highway going 70 miles per hour. this vehicle is a threat to our life safety. i would like it repaired or replaced at no cost to us. i do not want to trade it in and purchase a new vehicle which chrysler has been trying to get us to do for the past two years. thank you for any help in this matter. *tr updated 11/02/15.*jb
While driving the car would just shut off at random losing brakes, steering and engine power as well as other comfort features. it has happened on at least 6 occasions, usually you could just shift to neutral while driving and restart the car fixing the issues. today however it happened will switching lanes to the center turn lane. upon applying the brakes to wait to turn left the pedal went to the floor, then on the second depress it was super stiff and very little braking force applied. this caused the jeep to rear end the 2 other cars waiting to turn left. the airbags didn't deploy either.
Vehicle failed to start. all lights, gauges, etc. were operational. failed to engage starter. towed to repair facility. vehicle was diagnosed with a faulty power control module. repair shop reported that due to numerous issues with the module across the county, the replacement part is currently not available and may take up to a week or longer before the part is available. apparently, this is a common fault in these vehicles and renders our vehicle inoperable for an unacceptable length of time.

I was coming to a stop and my car shut off on its own while in "drive". over the past several months this has happened on several other occasions where my car just shuts off on its own while driving, usually while driving at a low speed under 15 mile/hr. on other occasions i have lost control over my power steering and the steering wheels locks up, again usually at a low speed. i know there is a recall on my vehicle because we received a letter in the mail but when we contacted our dealer (ansonia fitspatrick jeep) we were told the part was not yet available and that we needed to wait until we received a other notice / letter when the part comes in. this is very concerning and unsafe!!!! *tr
Bought the car 5 months ago. i started my car to go to work, everything started on except the car. took out the key and try to turn it back on, nothing. later on the day, my husband turn the car on and it came back on. the next day, the car wouldn't start, but again the radio, the lights, windshield wipers are on, except the car. *tr
After 6 hours of car resting (overnight) it would not start. the engine will not crank and will give the transmission over temp indication. the battery dcv is 12.30 plenty for an start. where i live there is no snow nor the outside temp was hot ( the incident happened early morning with a cool outside temp of 76 degree f). after couple attempts it crank and start where the alternator charge the battery maintaining a dcv 14 plus. after one minute of idling i turn it off and try again, where it give the same error. making the vehicle unreliable on the street. *tr

The car stops when it wants rather if i'm in traffic, stop sign, red light, or interstate.. the wheel and the brakes will lock up. i've been calling chrysler the 1800 number and local dealerships such as picayune ms and slidell la about the situation but nobody seems to care!!! they said the parts isn't in and that its the ignition switch so i payed out of my pockets for the ignition switch and got it put on with the money that i didn't have to spare but obviously that wasn't the problem.. now my car engine is making raggling and tractor noises. barely want to start.. basically i don't have transportation to or from work and school for the fall!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot chrysler...
