We have classified the 34 complaints from 2003 Infiniti G35 about VISIBILITY into the following categories.
Control panel totally inoperable. ac blows at highest setting, unable to change any settings, unable to use defroster. recall doesn't include my vin although it has the same problem as those recalled. *tr
Ac/climate control circuit board is not functioning. there was a voluntary service campaign issued by infiniti (tb003-007, campaign id p3104), but only for certain vin numbers. many other 2003 owners, not covered by the recall, are experiencing the same issue. this is a safety issue as rear and front window defrosters do not operate. *tr
driving hazard b/c of not being able to control the climate, particularly the front and rear window defrosters. *tr
Air conditioning/heating controls running full blast with zero ability to control. this is a safety issue as windows cannot be defrosted in the winter. radio not working. infiniti corporation is not warranting this issue, but refers customers to local dealerships. *tr
The climate control system malfunctioned. the blower went to the highest level and could not be adjusted using the controls. the display panel for the radio also went blank. tried to turned everything off but the controls did not work, therefore had to turn the car off. once the care was off i turn it back on and the fan blower was at medium, and i was still not able to adjust the temperature, defroster or other controls including the radio from the panel. i was able to adjust the radio from the steering wheel. the next day everything began to work. approximately one month later the same thing occurred lasting about two days before everything began to operated again. *tr
Since i bought my g35 coupe, i've been having problems with my driver side window, currently stopped working, it wouldn't go down. it would be my 4th time i replaced window motor, is not cheap. out of nowhere my window go down when is closed, water gets in when raining. then when finally i get to close the window, it would not go down. infiniti needs to make this problem an official recall and replace all the window motors. i love my car, i don't know what else to do. i cannot afford paying for new window motor. please help me and all infiniti owners. thanks *tr
Common problem with the g35. audio finisher controls the climate control system and stereo. doesn't sound like it is dangerous but it is! no ability to use defrost in thunderstorm yesterday and had to pull over numerous times. called infiniti today and their recall does not cover my vin. they offer a goodwill replacement if you buy another car etc. car is not safe and i will not pay infinity $1500 to repair when they effectively concede they know there is a problem with the design and it is dangerous. *tr
Unable to defog windows because all of the climate control buttons are inoperable. currently the climate control system is "stuck" at 71 degrees and the radio is completely out. *tr
The system controlling the ac and the radio completely stopped working and there is no longer any way to control it. all the power windows quit working as well. with so many reports would be nice if infiniti took some responsibility and addressed the issues. *js
The audio and temperature controls become inoperable because of a known issue with the audio finisher circuit board. my temperature was stuck at 90 degrees at maximum output, with no possible way to shut it off. there was a voluntary recall for 2003 g35 sedans with this issue (infiniti recall # p31040), but not for coupes. from online research, there appears to be numerous cases where the same issue has occurred on 2003 g35 coupes, but infiniti refuses to accept responsibility for repairs, because the vin #'s were not part of the original recall. i believe this is a safety defect that constitutes a recall for any g35 model with this known issue. *tr
The radio will turn off by itself and turn back on a few seconds later. all of the buttons in the center console become inoperable. the a/c controls also become inoperable and turns on by itself. it just doesn't turn on though, it turns on 90 degrees and starts blasting out. this is a safely issue because as a driver we never know when this air is just going to start blasting out at us like fire. if infiniti is smart enough to recall the sedan, they should do the same thing with the coupes. it is clearly a common problem among the '03-'04 models. if they want to keep their reputable name they will do what is right. *tr
The ac/heat controller stopped working. the ac was stuck at full, at 60 degrees which created mist on all of the windows. i was not able to turn on the defroster which made my driving dangerous. *tr

The defroster, ac/heating system, radio, and selected lights on the dashboard fail randomly, causing the windows to fog in certain weather conditions, making it quite hazardous to drive. the system will automatically turn on, then the fan cycles to higher speeds about every 20 seconds. the heating/air system will become completely uncontrollable, rendering all defrost controls inoperable. during this time, the radio display turns itself off, and all controls on the face of the unit are disabled. the stereo can still be controlled by the steering wheel controls. all button lights remain off, while the center display, located just below the windshield, remains on. there has been a recall for the sedan version of this year/model vehicle for the same issue. the following is the service campaign number for the sedan recall: itb03-007. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated the defroster only emit heat and does not assist in defrosting the windshield when necessary. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. the technicians stated the audio unit needed to be replaced due to a wiring failure . the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 137,000.
The third brake light on the rear window deck fails to work intermittently creating a situation where vehicles following may not realize that our vehicle is braking. this creates a concern for my safety as well as my childrens safety. this is a very frequent problem with infiniti vehicles of this make but infiniti will not acknowledge the problem.
Im currently having trouble with my center console losing power to my ac and radio. the problems range from center console display shortages, ac blasting at full strength and being unable to change the setting, to the radio intermittently putting out sound. this problem has led to safety issues with the car in that the inability to control the ac results in fogged over windshields leading to poor visibility. i've read online that this problem affects many owners of the same car. it was such a problem that infiniti recalled the '03 g35 sedan for the exact same problems. it is embarrassing that inifiniti does not stand by their product across the board. if they acknowledged that it was a problem in the sedan why are they not responsible for fixing the same problem in the two door model. would like to know how this problem may be remedied. *tr
No specific event. climate control panel failed in ac "on" mode at 70'f. cannot turn off. cannot access defrost/rear defogger buttons. creates unsafe vehicle as lack of defrost/defogger prevents driver from seeing clearly in certain weather conditions. no radio controls. understand a common problem. *tr
Driver side window motor failed. window is stuck in up position. this is a safely hazard as occupant cannot use window as an exit from the automobile. *tr
1) no specific event - one day stopped working. 2) climate control panel failed in ac "on" mode at 66'f. cannot turn off. cannot access defrost/rear defogger buttons. creates unsafe vehicle as lack of defrost/defogger prevents driver from seeing clearly in certain weather conditions. 3) told by infinity consumer affairs that sedan vin does not fall into range of existing recall for ac/auto circuit board by nissan (infiniti). requires consumer paid diagnostic to determine what failure mode is causing problem. *tr
First defect: when i would start my car the lights would go out and the radio, heating and cooling buttons. the fan would come onto high and switch to airconditioning. i could not turn it down or turn it off or turn on my defroster when it was 30 degrees in the morning which made my visibility very poor. the only way to get this to stop was to pull the fuses. we check the recall history and found that it was only a courtesy recall and wouldn't be covered even after reading that hundreds of g35 owners were all having the same problem. we had to have the radio electronics removed from the car and sent out to be fixed. i think this issue would be consisted a safety issue when you don't have heat or a defroster. second defect: the problem started while the car was idling and it would stall. then 3 days later while driving at 50mph the car tried to stall and it lost all power and then the dash lights came on indicating service needed. the car seem to lack power. did a recall check and found that all the conditions pointed to the cam shaft position censor failing. we checked the vin# and of course my car isn't one that is on their recall list for the same problem they have on other g35 models. this could be a serious safety issue causing an accident when you stall and have no control of your vehicle going down the highway. every issue i have had with my car has been on the companies recall list but not my vin # for some reason. this issue to need to reviewed and corrected. third defect: we have had to have the motor replaced twice in the drivers door that operates the electric window. now the right door window is not working. if it does open it will get stuck and we have trouble getting it to come up. we have to keep it locked to avoid it being opened. *tr *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated that the control board (air conditioner/defrost/heat) was inoperative as well as the audio functions. the manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied any assistance with repairs to the failure. the dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 96,000 and the current mileage was 133,000. the vin was unavailable.
Window motor. *tr
I lose complete control of my climate control which results in my a/c being stuck on. my radio controls are also gone. the whole center dash is in complete electrical failure. this is a hazard due to windows fogging up while driving. also i've researched that there are recalls only for sedans, i don't understand this because the same parts are in the coupes. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infinity g35. the contact was driving 25 mph when the defroster, air conditioner and radio failed intermittently. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer but the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 117,000 and the current mileage was 127,000. updated 01/06/12 *bf the consumer stated from the time is started happening, it was intermittent, until march when it went out all together. it is now stuck on a constant 74 degrees and nothing else on the center panel works. updated 01/06/12
Air conditioning blasts at all times that car engine is running. no way to control, lower or change the a/c defroster, heat or defogger. radio panels are similarly "blacked out" meaning they are not within the control of the operator. multiple safety complaints have been issued regarding this problem and the dealership has advised similar owners it will be $4,000 to rectify this problem. this is largely a safety concern. i have notified my insurance company of this issue as when toyota's were recalled and people were injured it was the insurance company, (state farm) that realized the severity of the situation first. *kb
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated that the defroster was inoperable, reducing visibility. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 125,000 and the current mileage was 140,000. updated 09/02/11*lj updated 09/14/11
The audio/climate controls on my 2003 infiniti g35 stopped working while my ac goes on full blast. can't turn it off. i have no control of my radio. called the dealer. they said it could be the radio ($900), the circuit board ($900) or both ($1800) plus tax. and that's on top of the diagnostics fee they will charge. infiniti service advisor told me that because it's out of warranty, it's just like a bulb going out. what a ripoff. . *tr
Electrical control panel: heat/ defrost/ radio and cd/tape. intermittent operation was reported to infiniti dealer in 2008. at the present time (oct. 2010), the control panel is totally inoperable as of the beginning of october 2010. there is no way of controlling the ac/defrost/temperature. the audio/ climate system was inspected and confirmed that the circuitry has internal failure. this has posed a hazard since there is no way of controlling the defrost and fan to unfog the windows. there was a voluntary recall in 2004, however i had not been notified. several similar complaints have been blogged. dealer will replace unit for approximately $550.00 at owner's cost. however, it appears that it is a defect by the manufacturer. *tr
2003 g35 sedan central console a/c, selected lights, and audio controls stopped working suddenly. cannot control heat/defrost/air conditioning. caused windows to fog up quickly impairing visual field while driving on highway. this is very hazardous because of its unexpected and unpredictable onset. *tr
Per g35 sedan recall my '...audio and temperature controls may, on occasion, not operate as expected....". my equipment failed multiple times. there is a voluntary recall for this problem on the g35 sedan but not the g35 coupe. the mfg'r. states that coupe is not covered even though i have the same problem. my g35 has/had the identical problem and they replaced my circuit board at a cost of $649.88 (parts and labor). i believe the g35 coupe should have same recall as the g35 sedan. *tr
I have a 2003 infinity g35 coupe my radio does not work and have lost all control of my heat and air conditioning i believe this is a really big problem do to the fact that i cannot defrost my windows when they fog up. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated that the defroger system was inoperable. the dealer advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for service. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. no repairs were performed. the current mileage was 153,000 and the approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
While driving my 2003 infiniti g35 in the highway the radio made a click and remained silent followed by the ac automatically coming on at full power. the dash controls can no longer be accessed . at the time it is bothersome but in certain situations the car is at danger. if this was winter everything would have fogged up and wouldn't have been able to use the defroster . i have researched this problem and there other owners with the same problem .this problem is electrical and is very dangerous when taking it into context. there was a voluntary service campaign for the audio finisher circuit board but it only included 23600 cars. infiniti should be responsible for this and cover the cost. *tr
There is an apparent known defect in the 2003 infiniti g35 models. the radio and climate control will apparently lose all indicators, as if there is no power, but will continue to function, staying frozen on at their last settings. the radio volume or channels cannot be changed and the air conditioning/heater,etc. are stuck on their last settings and cannot be changed without turning the car off. this is caused by a defective control board behind the dash. infiniti/nissan is aware of the problem, and has issued a voluntary service campaign (# itb03-007b) to repair the 26,300 vehicles listed by vin # on the service bulletin. this is a hazard , as in the winter, the front or rear defrosters cannot be turned on, or the air conditioning turned off, causing a hazardous driving condition. infiniti says my 2003 vin # does not fall into the bulletin parameters, (vin # is higher), and they will not cover the repairs, even though it is the same problem. infiniti states the cost to repair.........$2600.00. it is apparent that the bulletin did not go far enough to cover this defect on a larger quantity of vehicles than infiniti wants to admit. *tr
The hvac controls on my g35 intermittently stop working making it impossible to operate the air or defroster. there was a recall associated with this but infiniti refuses to repair the vehicle. *tr
A/c came on randomly at high speed,,could now turn of,,fog my windows will my niece was in back in her baby seat,,i tried turning the fan's off,,could not turn of,,and heater and cd malfunction together. went to dealer they would not replace, will cost 1300,,it was electric problem. i always keep my car up to service. *tr
Air conditioning unit comes on randomly and would not shut off. at the same time, the radio became inoperable. initially this problem would happen just a couple of times per week, but now it's a permanent issue. infiniti recognizes that a problem exists, but will not recall because they claim that it's not a safety issue. this is a huge safety issue because i cannot control the front or rear defrost. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 coupe. the defrost became inoperable. the failure is related to the audio circuit board which controls the air conditioner and heat. the dealer was notified; however, there were no recalls related to her vin. the failure mileage was 83,000.
I have an infiniti g35 (2003) that has suddenly had problems with the heat and air controls. when the problem started, it would go out after the car was on for more than 10 minutes. now, the controls do not work at all. this can potentially create a safety problem for a driver when the windshield fogs up in either cold weather conditions (after being garaged) or humid weather conditions after a rain shower in the hot summer. this is a serious safety issue when the windshield fogs up as the driver is operating the vehicle. after doing an internet search about this problem, i found that there are literally thousands of other 2003 g35 owners with the same problem. also, infiniti knows of the problem and the safety concern, but has not done anything about it to fix the problem for all vehicles in which this occurs. there was only a voluntary posting and it only included vehicles made in a certain time period. obviously, the timeframe established by infiniti is not correct as there are many cases where this defect is still occurring. this safety concern needs to be addressed and corrected. i have not had a crash as a result of this defect, but i do not want to have one in the future. others with the same problem most likely feel the same way......some may have actually had a crash because of this defect. this should be investigated. *tr
Center console control buttons do not operate. can't operate defroster and can't see out front windshield. *tr
I have a 2003 infiniti g35. the center console, controlling the heater/ac and the radio is not working. i was told that there is a control board problem that infiniti is not claiming, yet according to the web, there are several complaining of the same problem. *tr
My infiniti g 35 first began having problems with the cd player. it no longer works, but has now progressed to the radio and ac or heater freezing up. it occurs more frequently as time goes on. the safety issue is that i can not control the defrost or heat when it freezes. it happens when i am driving and yesterday the heater on the car turned itself up to 90 degrees with the blower at full blast. my daughter is a college student and i am concerned that when she drives back home on weekends that she will not be able to control the defroster this winter. we never know when this will happen and would hate for her to be on the interstate in the middle of no where and not be able to use the defroster. we also never know if the air or heat will turn to its low or high with the blower at full speed. several car mechanics have mentioned that this is a well known problem with the 2003 infiniti g 35's. on the internet there are numerous websites with many complaints on this issue as well.*tr
