We have classified the 34 complaints from 2003 Infiniti G35 about VISIBILITY into the following categories.
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the radio, heater and air conditioning console had an electrical failure. he notified an infiniti dealer in reference to a recall, and was advised that the recall repair had previously been performed. the contact has to pay $1,300.00 to repair the vehicle. a representative from the manufacturer advised him that if he did not drive a hour and a half to an authorized dealer for an assessment, they would not provide any assistance. the current and failure mileages were approximately 85,000. updated 11/10/09 *bf the rear window defroster was inoperative. updated 11/13/09.*jb
A/c controls/electrical failing on vehicle... during summer months do not have ability to lower a/c (blows hot air). during winter months do not have access to heater or window defroster creating road hazard and personal safety issues. 2003 infiniti g35 couple. *tr
There is an apparent known defect in the 2003 infiniti g35 models. the radio and climate control will apparently lose all indicators, as if there is no power, but will continue to function, staying frozen on at their last settings. the radio volume or channels cannot be changed and the air conditioning/heater,etc. are stuck on their last settings and cannot be changed without turning the car off. this is caused by a defective control board behind the dash. infiniti/nissan is aware of the problem, and has issued a voluntary service campaign (# itb03-007b) to repair the 26,300 vehicles listed by vin # on the service bulletin. this is a hazard , as in the winter, the front or rear defrosters cannot be turned on, or the air conditioning turned off, causing a hazardous driving condition. infiniti says my 2003 vin # does not fall into the bulletin parameters, (vin # is higher), and they will not cover the repairs, even though it is the same problem. infiniti states the cost to repair.........$2600.00. i have 2 other friends that are having the same problem with their 2003 g35 infiniti's, also not covered by the service bulletin. it is apparent that the bulletin did not go far enough to cover this defect on a larger quantity of vehicles than infiniti wants to admit. *tr
Something was draining the battery in the electrical system. one day while trying to start the car after it had been sitting for a few days, everything flickered (headlights, dashlights, control panel) and then the car wouldn't start. charged the battery and then the radio, ac/heater/defroster did not work properly. have seen many similar complaints on the internet. *tr
The defrost no longer works. it has short circuited the heat and ac unit. the entire unit controls the radio and cd player. can't control any of these functions. many people with the 2003 infinity g 35 have these problems. *tr
The display on my radio started to go out and made it so i had no control over the radio and the ac/heater. it went off and on randomly for the past year, now my radio is completely dead and still have no control over my a/c controls so it blows at my feet. now that temp. outside is getting into the 30's, and i need my defrost to be able to see through my windshield but can't control it... *tr
I own a 2003 infinity g35 sedan. the climate control system often turns on by it self. depending on the weather this causes the windshield to fog so it is had to see while driving. i have seen on the online forums that a lot of people have this problem. the dealers want to charge $ 1,200 to replace these units. *tr
My 2003 infinity g35 has an electrical problem with the radio which causes the climate control system to freeze up defroster will not work front or rear causing fogging when temperature changes this impairs my vision and creates a dangerous condition infinity will not do anything to fix this they recalled some vehicles so their aware of this condition. *tr
Intermittent heater, defroster, ac, audio failure. this is a safety issue with regard to the inability to defrost / de-ice the wind shield. there are numerous complaints from other owners on this site and others. no response or support from infinity. *tr
1) called the dealership and was told there is a technical bulletin on how to fix the problem but it wasn't a recall and will cost approx. $800 due to a malfunctioning of a circuit board. 2) the climate control and radio are inoperable about every other time we start the car. i read current recalls for this exact problem for the sedan and not the coupe. i just don't understand that. i know there are other's with the same issue. hope this become a recall soon. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35. the contact stated that the welding joint was coming apart and damaging the base. the dealer stated that the entire base was unsafe and needed to be replaced. the vehicle is currently at the dealer being repaired at the owner's expense. there is a service bulletin for the vehicle, but the number was unavailable. the failure and current mileages were 46,000. the consumer stated in january 20009, the driver's seat began to rock back forth whenever he accelerated from a complete stop. at first, the rocking was isolated to when acceleration occurred from a complete stop. however, after two weeks the rocking would occur when traveling at highway speeds of about 70 mph. eventually, the condition of the driver's seat became so severe that the seat could be rocked back and forth without any person seated in it. the driver's seat assembly was replaced at the consumers expense. updated 02/09/11 the consumer stated while driving in inclement weather, the window defroster suddenly shut off on its own. at the same time, the air conditioner reset itself to 60 degrees and turned itself on at maximum force. the lights on the climate control panel and radio panel went dark. attempts were made to shut off the air conditioner and restart the window defrosted, but the climate control button were non-responsive. it was discovered that the only way to control the radio was through the control buttons located on the steering wheel. unlike the radio there was no secondary climate control button. within 30 seconds of the window defroster shutting off, all of the windows inside the vehicle became foggy. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was discovered the audio finisher circuit board was defective and that along with the radio would have to be replaced at a cost of $ 1,329.01. the dealer stated the radio and climate controls were both intertwined with the audio finisher circuit board. updated 09/10/12 the consumer stated the audio finisher board was replaced. updated 10/10/1
Tl*the contact owns a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan. the contact stated that the electrical system works intermittently, causing loss of defrost and air conditioning. due to the high humidity in his state, the contact was unable to defrost the rear glass due to the malfunction in the electrical system. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. he noticed several complaints on the internet regarding the same failure. the failure mileage was 132,000 and current mileage was 133,600.
I presently own a 2003 infinit g35. the entire climate control functions and dash lights do not function because of a problem with the radio. a recall was initiated for the "audio finisher circuit board" by infiniti but the problem still exists. these items will suddenly stop working while driving the vehicle. this happened to me while driving. these items do not function at present. an infiniti dealer infomred of the recall and also infomred me that my vehicle had already had the circuit board replaced and that the only other problem that would cause this would be the radio. i was also infomred that this is a common problem with this model infiniti and infiniti will not take responsibilty for this problem or the repairs. repairs cost from $600 to $1250. that price quote was stated to by infiniti. just a note, all equipment i am referrring to is factory installed. no aftermarket equipment has been installed. *tr
My 2003 inifinity g35 a/c and radio controls are stuck which is causing my windows to fog up....not a big deal during the summer, but this could be a major hazard for winter. infinity says my car was manufactured after the recall date, but funny, the problems are all the same no matter when manufactured. please help before this does kill someone! *tr
The heating/defrost/ac unit stops working while driving causing window to fog up during cold weather - back seats are ripping, like brittle. brake light in back window goes off and on, works when it wants to. *tr
2003 infiniti g35 with a recall on the engine. customer states that the dealer told her that her car was not included in the recall even though the symptoms were the same. dealer refused to fix it unless she paid 11,000 dollars to fix it. *kb the dealer informed the consumer the engine shut down because the piston broke causing it to hit the engine which put a hole in the engine block. the consumer had a used engine put in the vehicle on july 24, 2006 but, one year later the engine failed. the consumer stated she has had numerous problems with the brakes, the driver's seat made a constant noise, the 6 cd changer malfunctioned and ceased to operate and the window motor was replaced. *jb
The rear defrost interferes with the radio. you can't play the radio if it's raining. the jim colman infiniti dealer ordered the part that took 3 months to come in. when they finally installed the part it did not fix the problem. i was told they would have to replace the rear window, however they can't because my basic warranty had expired. i was still covered under the warranty when they ordered the part that didn't fix the problem. *nm
While driving on an entrance ramp to highway the rear window shattered. there was no overpass where an object could have been dropped. the entrance ramp at the point of is long way from any other traffic. i fail to see how a small pebble could cause the rear window to shatter into so many pieces (this is what dealer claims) dt
