Tl* the contact owns a 2003 hyundai tiburon. the contact started the ignition and the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the warning indicator remained illuminated continuously until the engine was turned off. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and repaired however one week later, the failure recurred. on a separate occasion the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who refused to repair the vehicle and recommended that the vehicle be taken to a dealer. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 03v321000 (air bags: frontal) but the vin was not included in the recall. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was under 100,000. the vin was unavailable.

Low-speed collision with the front end, driver's side of my 2003 hyundai-tiburon resulted in only the passenger side air bag deploying.*ak

I was driving 35+ miles per hour and rear ended a large truck. the air bag on the passenger side deployed (no one in passenger side),mine (driver side) did not deploy. 2003 hyundai tiburon,causing almost $9,000 damage. dealership towed to,elhart in holland mi.,had no concern. vehicle towed to denooyer chev. and the body shop manager,steve batts showed a great deal of concern. i contacted hyundai complaint dept.,and that person was non chalant about the episode. i still do not know if i have a deployable air bag on drivers side. hyundai would not fix it! or pay to have one either put in or to even test to see if it was defective. . i am paying for a vehicle in which i am not confident regarding its safety factor. perhaps this could be a recall. i have gotten no where at this time,and am filing a formal complaint against hyundai and the dealership,elhart, who sold me this vehicle,sept 2002. if you cannot help,please direct me to an agency that will. elise knapp. *jb

Air bag light came on intermittently. dealer serviced the vehicle on several occasions, but problem recurred. consumers was concerned that it was not safe to drive the vehicle. *ak

While driving, the passenger side air bag deployed without warning. the dealer was contacted as well as the manufacturer, however, neither is willing to assist the driver. please provide further details. *la

I have never received any recall notices at my address, by phone email, not even face to face with the dealer when i took the car to the dealership. i stumbled across this by accident trying to find online how to fix my electronic key, that was friday, february, 28, 2014. from 2002 to now, no mail, except to extend my warranty. they could reach me then. the dealer never informed me or said anything about a recall on my airbags, light has been on for years, i was told the airbag was no big deal, seatbelt replacement, fuel tank, suspension, i got locked in the car and i couldn't get out, i never know if i will be able to get my car to unlock. it locks itself which is scary, i am florida and if i get locked in again, with no a/c i can die quickly, it is called barters syndrome so i am on disability, i cannot keep potassium in my body which in a car locked in i could easily die, i can the dealer didn't utter the work recall or anything close to the word. he gave me prices to fix all these problem on the link below he is giving me these prices like i have to fix these at my expense am supposed to fix these recalls. if i can't get help or guidance i just the car the until it does kill me., then my family will sue, will sue hyundai and anyone else. the neurosurgeon's at mayo clinic said if i have an accident i will either be dead or in a wheelchair. how do i find any one to help the car has on it at this time 3/4/14, 42,282 thousand miles. http://www.automd.com/recall/hyundai_m/tiburon_mm/2003_y/. *tr

Consumer's daughter was driving at 30 mph when the air bags deployed. it scared the driver, and she made a quick right turn. the vehicle hit the curb, and broke the rim on the passenger's side. *ak *jb

My hyundai tiburon was partially submerged in flood water dec 26, 2003. the air bag light stays on but did, not deploy. at 10,000 mi i was told my warranty was canceled, eventhough i'm still the initial owner. there are several recalls on the vehicle. since i still driving the vehicle, i need the recalls taken care of.*ak

While proceeding to enter an interstate and without warning passenger's side air bag deployed. driver drove the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. *ak

While driving 30 mph side air bag inadvertently deployed, causing consumer to hit a curve. vehicle sustained damage. consumer took vehicle to dealership before this incident because air bag light was on while driving. however, this problem was not resolved.*ak

While driving approximately 30 mph, the side air bag deployed inadvertently. as a result the vehicle swerved to the right and hit a curb. the vehicle sustain damage to the passenger side front tire, rim and suspension. *ak *nlm *la *jb

While driving approximately 30 mph, the driver's side, side impact air bag deployed for no reason, causing the car to swerve towards the right hitting the curb on the passenger side damaging the passenger side front tire and rim. as of today hyunday did not make any repairs or investigation of the deployment of the air bag. the car is parked at the dealer from september 21, 2003. *la

Consumer stated that while driving at 45 mph an accident occurred while trying to avoid a collision with a stalled vehicle in the highway. while avoiding the stalled vehicle consumer rolled into a ditch and rolled over several times. consumer's seatbelt came undone, and the air bag did not deploy. after the accident something under the hood started smoking, and within ten minutes the entire car was consumed by the fire.*ak

Consumer complained about electrical problems which included the power windows, and the driver seat belt buckle wiring. consumer received a recall notice on this matter, however, dealer refused to accommodate the consumer. *ak the air bad failed during a crash and the sun roof malfunctioned. *jb

The all-new 2003 hyundai tiburon boasted to deliver a perfect combination of stylish design, high quality and outstanding performance. in reality, the new vehicle, which i leased was plagued with numerous handicaps. the knob on stick shift keeps falling off-appears to be broken. re-attached knob and centered face plate only to have knob fall off again still broken. july 18 2002 a/c fumes coming thru vents this is caused by grease on wheel from band clamp loose off cv boot. july 18 2002 steering wheel shakes at high speed- car sways at rear. steering wheel off center, they adjusted, still shakes. july 18 2002 park and emergency brake defective. park brake loose and brake light flashes. emergency brake loose/does not hold, they fixed both, they are broken again jan 9th. dec 18 2002 sunroof will not open requires a new motor and module, which was installed. when i picked up the car i tested it and it still would not open. they said make another appointment in the new year. dec 18 2002 driver side window defective-goes up very slow yes, power window is dragging. we will order a new one. jan 10/03 still no part. bob (service manager) will call me when parts are in. jan 17th, i called, yes parts are in, as per bob the letter is in the mail. as of feb 25/03 i have yet to receive that letter. may 15 2002 i bought (from hyundai showroom) blue neon lights for windshield wipers $22.59 had their service dept install them $30. the first time i washed my car they fell off. yes, they were defective. june 11 hyundai re-installed my old ones and in doing so dented the car roof. aug 28 2002 with the pending possibility of lay-off i went into the dealership to see what my options were. the manager directed me to call financial lynx leasing co. financial lynx directed me to call dealership. the manager told me i could buy out my lease for $6000 at that time. thank god i didn?t get laid-off. i am not looking to get out of my lease. sincerely, carrie urbanowicz
