Takata recall i was notified may 13, 2016 during routine oil change at my local dealership of recall & told parts would be ordered that day. i received july 23, 2016 letter from honda about recall. i called bob boyte dealership on july 25 since it had been over the 6 weeks they suggested on may 13. i was given a 2016 cr-v rental car that afternoon to drive. on july 29 the dealership called to tell me the drivers' air bag had been replaced & i must return rental car & pick up my cr-v but suggested i avoid having a passenger sit in front passenger's seat until recall repair has been made on that side. i use my cr-v to transport grandchildren from ages 2-15. i need 4 seats for my teenage grandchildren & a toddler seat. i have been waiting 11 weeks for repair of recalls. i feel that my dealership (bob boyte) in brandon, ms is not working quickly enough to fix recall. school begins aug 8 and i must be able to transport 4 safely. as it is now, i cannot do this. my 2007 cr-v has just turned 104,000 miles & is excellent condition. i bought it to use basically to transport grandchildren. this is an unreasonable length of time to wait for the recall to be taken care of.
Takata inflators. i need assistance for my 82 year old mother. her honda is part of the recall for the takata inflator. upon reading the instructions off the web site advising her to go to her local dealership..to rent a car...she was turned away and told they had no cars available. i have called 2 additional dealers about the recall and was not given any information other than to call back...every week... i was told by the 1-888-234-2138 # that there is a waiting list that the dealer must put you on and that each dealer has a pre negotiated rate with hertz or enterprise.....so why would my mother be turned away from her local dealer and not assisted in this recall that is life threatening to honda passengers? i feel like no honda dealer really wants to be bothered by this recall.

Takata recall. on april 29, 2016, i brought this car to my local honda dealer. i was informed that because of the takata airbag recall, that this car was dangerous and i should not drive the car. however, they provided me with a loaner car, under the program approved by honda motors, at no cost to me. therefore i did not drive the car until the driver side airbag was repaired. this was done on august 12, 2016. at that time i was told that i would no longer qualify for a loaner even though they had not repaired the passenger-side airbag because of a lack of parts. i was told that the car was still dangerous, however, in that there should be no passenger in the passenger seat. i discussed this with the service manager, and he and i both agreed that this was not an entirely satisfactory solution. besides the inconvenience of not having a usable passenger seat, if the passenger-side airbag did deploy, it would seem possible that metal parts could scatter throughout the passenger compartment. thus, it wouldn't matter whether there was anyone in the passenger seat. people could still be injured, even in the rear seats. honda apparently will not pay for a loaner car, since the car is now "drivable". until the passenger airbag can be repaired, it would seem to me that this is a dangerous situation. this could be easily remedied by extending the loaner car period until the passenger side airbags can be repaired.

I visited my honda dealer (crown honda in pinellas park florida) on april 4th, 2016 in connection with important safety recall service bulletin #16-016 received from the automobile division of american honda motor co., inc. crown honda's service advisor (james g. mclaughlin) told me the part(s) necessary to fix my car will not be available until late summer 2016, but that i should not worry because the statistical probability of either myself or a passenger in my vehicle suffering any kind of harm or injury is highly remote. i mentioned that my vehicle is apparently at greater risk of the faulty part(s) failing because it is an older vehicle being operated in a very high humidity/high temperature environment - the tampa bay area of florida. mr. mclaughlin was still of the view i should not be too concerned as the whole recall matter had been blown out of proportion by nhtsa. but while driving yesterday i heard some unusually weird noises coming from where my driver and passenger front airbags are located and i was very fearful of an airbag inflator failure because it was a very hot humid day. my dealer has refused to confirm whether my vehicle will be receiving priority because of the high risk environment in which it is operated. yesterday i called american honda at 1-888-234-2138 and spoke with a customer service rep named emmit located in torrance ca and he too was unable to confirm whether my vehicle was on a priority list given its much higher risk of the part(s) failing. i need help from someone - please help me. thank you.
Takata recall. i called 4x now regarding the airbag recall. my original call to the dealership was 4/19, actually that wasn't my original that was when they finally told me that i could order a part. i originally was told they'd contact me when the part arrives... so after calling 2 more times someone said i could specifically order a part, so naturally i did. after following up a few more times, it still isn't there! it is now july 22nd. it's been over 3 months and my part that they "ordered" is not there. i was told that my car is a priority b/c we live in tampa, fl and it's grossly muggy and hot and that apparently is a condition of the airbag spontaneously combusting. so here we are, i am filing a complaint. i will follow up again with the dealership in a week or so. it's kuhn honda on [xxx]. phone#813-872-4841 so i've been driving around for months feeling unsafe in my own car, i am not ok with this and am considering getting a more reliable car or at least one that the dealership will treat me as if i am a priority and not putting off a potentially deadly recall for months with absolutely no follow up at all. not once have they contacted me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
The honda dealer in charlottesville, offered me a rental after two trips over to their offices. that was before april 19. today july 5, they called to pick up the car and replace the drivers air bag. they will not be able to fix the passenger air bag until it comes in, but they are taking away the rental and telling me to have no one sit in the front seat. the car is driven by a 17 year old and i dont think i want her driving a half fixed car. additionally, we have a ridgeline truck that was recalled and in late june they called to fix the air bag when we went to pick it up they said only one air bag is fixed no one can sit it the passanger seat. while this truck has the capacity for 5 people the truck is used by my son who using the jump space for his triathlon gear and fills the truck with passengers for triathlons.

Takata recall i bought this 2007 in 2006 off the showroom floor. it was a 100% japan built with all the extras. i let my daughter by it off me to go to college and she paid the loan off of $17,000 i have taken it to dealership for recall several months ago and they will notify me when there is a fix. i have a car in my driveway that nobody in the family wants to drive. there has got to be a recourse...like take it out for now,,,so we can use a vehicle that i'm paying insurance on because i feel so bad for my daughter. she is getting a ride to purdue her senior year and feels threatened by a first car she has purchased.

Takata recall -i am filing a complaint as pacific honda in honolulu, hawaii, did not repair my vehicle in a timely manner, which per american honda is 60 days from the date i first contacted the dealer for a repair appointment, march 2016.they offered a compact rental car at 35.99 per day but i needed a larger car for work to transport supplies and shared the car when my son returned from college in may. i would need to pay more for an suv plus an additional 12.99 per day, since my son wasn't 25 years old. they promised to call as soon as the part was available in july. i contacted them several times before july, then in august when the agent said she would ask the manager to authorize detailing of my car, since mold had grown all over the interior and my car battery died twice. i again left a message on september 2 to advise that i wanted to pick up a rental car on september 5th, have my car cleaned and repaired as soon as possible. terry, from the service department returned my call at 6:26 pm, and asked if i ever contacted honda, then advised that they no longer offered a rental car, (as of a week or two ago) and the service manager could call me back on tuesday, september 6. then, when i became upset, she offered an appointment on friday, september 9th to replace the driver's side airbag. if the appointment was available, why wasn't i called and scheduled sooner? we realize it was not the fault of pacific honda, that the airbag was defective, however, it is their responsibility to rectify the situation in a timely manner and offer a comparable replacement or compensation for the inconvenience when a comparable replacement without additional expense is not offered. we think we have been more than reasonable waiting for the part, as well as saving honda over $5,400.00 in rental car fees (as i could have had it for over the past 150+ days at 35.99 per day)
