IGNITION 1

Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2007 Honda CR-V

The doors unlock themselves whether driving or parked. when i use my remote to lock my doors two of my doors automatically unlock themselves. when driving and auto locks engage, two of the doors automatically unlock themselves causing the car to continually lock and unlock itself. *tr

For some time now the doors open and then immediately lock again when using remote keyless entry. but now occasionally the panic button goes off and the car honks and flashes and the vehicle is inoperable. this results in a safety hazard as the latest incident occurred with children in the vehicle with high temperatures and we were all essentially stranded until the car settled down. it is easy to imagine a much more serious scenario where the children are locked in the car and the car cannot be opened because the locks are inoperable and the car will not respond to deactivating the panic button. *tr

Left rear passenger door locks when other doors are unlocked, and unlocks when other doors are locked. also rear hatch door now won't unlock. *tr

The right rear door lock reopens by itself after i lock the doors with the fob. the lock will not lock manually. hence i cannot lock the vehicle. several other people have complained of similar problems with this make and year vehicle - numerous complaints on the edmunds.com website. apparently, a class action lawsuit was filed against honda in january 2013 regarding this and other door lock problems of this year crv vehicle. from internet research the price is about $300 to fix per door. i am unable to fully lock my car both when i am in it and when i am away from it. hence we crv owners are now subject to any one getting in or waiting in our vehicles and causing harm to us. also any one can take anything or put anything into my unlocked car. we are open to some one jumping in our unlocked vehicles when we stop at traffic lights - especially at night. finally, the car door automatic door locking system seems to try to lock the mentioned malfunctioned rear right door every time i slow below 10 mph and then speed up. i hear the clicking sound when the door is trying to be locked. the attempts are unsuccessful, the door does not lock thanks *tr

While driving rear passenger door locks and unlocks. *tr

Passenger door lock will remain lock after pressing unlock button on key and on door. lock actuator has a grinding sound when locking. *tr

The left rear door does not lock when using the fob or when in the car. all other doors lock, the back door tries to lock, and then automatically unlocks. when accelerating from a stopped position, the door will try to lock, but then unlocks. after seeing all of the posts related to this problem, i think honda should step up to resolve this. *tr

I have been having issues with the door lock actuator for the last 2 years, i have had them replaced, and now they are being replaced again. i can not lock them on the inside, and leaves my car open to anyone. i don't feel it is a safe. the dealership knows it is an issue yet they charge an arm & a leg to fix them. ridiculous!!! *tr

Passenger rear door lock not working. honda dealership said the door lock actuator is broken and needs to be repaired. this seems to be a common occurence. they charged me $280 for repair. *tr

Front passenger door wont stay locked. locks and then unlocks every time i slow down. cant lock manually either so no security. *tr

Began having chronic issue with rear passenger door locks. door cannot be manually locked and if i attempt to lock with key remote it immediately unlocks. i tried to see if keeping the child lock on would at least help keep it locked but it does not work. the car is constantly locking and unlocking every time i am in motion but immediately unlocks. this is very unsafe especially if transporting small children because the car does not stay locked at all. it is also unsafe to keep any belongings in the car overnight since the car cannot be locked under any circumstances. *tr

While driving my honda cr-v 2007 the locks would unlock and lock on their own. anytime i slow down and come to a stop the passenger side door unlocks. it will also never lock when i leave the car. i also remember months earlier that the dome light flickered when we had the doors open and putting stuff in the car. i didn't notice it for awhile and figured it was ok since it didn't happen anymore. *tr

After unlocking the door the door then locks itself. this happens both when you unlock manually or unlock using the fob. very dangerous as it locks you in the car and will not unlock. *tr

The rear door lock fails to lock. the rear door lock will not lock when using the key fob. the door can be opened while the car is traveling. the door tries to lock after every stop once the car is going again but still will not lock. significant safety problem as a child can open the door while it is moving. *tr

After unlocking the door the door then locks itself. this happens both when you unlock manually or unlock using the fob. very dangerous as it locks you in the car and will not unlock. *tr

It started with the rear passenger door lock unlocking and locking itself. now the other door locks are doing the same thing. as i am driving they are always unlocking and locking. i am scared my son will lean on the door handle while driving and the door will open. the car only has 43317 miles on it. *tr

When locking the front passenger door the door automatically re-opens.the door will not manually lock as well. honda will not take responsibility for the defect. a very big safety concern for the passenger sitting in that seat. *tr

My honda cr v 2007 door lock. it started about one and one half ago, the back driver door kept locking and unlocking as i drive. later the other door started to act up, now 04/05/2014, it opens while i drive. the driver side stay open (always) i cannot lock the car. *tr

The power door locks are malfunctioning. when unlocking the car to either enter or exit the vehicle, the car locks again automatically in less than a second. this occurs when using the remote to unlock the car as well as when unlocking the car from any door both outside and inside manually. in addition to this malfunction being a major inconvenience with nearly having locked myself out of the car numerous times (particularly at the gas pump and in store parking lots), it most certainly is a safety issue as well. it makes it difficult both entering and exiting the vehicle at any given time, let alone in the event of an emergency, especially with kids in tow. *tr

2007 honda crv problems with door locks. the driver's door lock automatically unlocks while the vehicle is moving and can't be relocked. at first it was the passenger door lock, got that fixed @ honda and cost about $300 back in oct 2010 @ 38500 od mi. now, the driver's door lock has the same problem! using remote keyless or driver's master door lock button, all doors lock except for the driver's door. it constantly makes grinding sounds and lock clicking on but does not lock!!.. tried to lock manually, but key does not work, afraid to force it and have it break in the lock. safety issue and as well as property damage (unable to secure property). i hear this has been an ongoing issue with hondas crv and other models, dating back quite a few years and makes sense if honda contracting the same vendors! quality control issue? the recent recall for 2012 hondas and acuras for defective door locks!! if using same vendor - same problem - and why only 2012 if older cars have had the same problems? recall should be for older cars as well! ***the other problem is the powertrain @ 66000 od mi. - recently noticed that at speeds of 10 - 15 mph ( after every stop) car sluggish as if about to lose power (dangerous safety issue) recall issues! *tr

driver side lock and trunk lock initially about a month ago would not lock manually or remotely. then two days ago, the car would not unlock at all. had to have the car unlocked by a company. now only the passenger and two rear doors work. i have to crawl in from the passenger side to get in the car. *tr

When using the key to unlock the doors, they relocked automatically in less than one second. this was initially occurring sporadically, but within a week progressed to constantly. even unlocking manually from inside the vehicle, it relocked on its own before i was able to open the door. this has become a safety issue, as i use my vehicle mostly as transportation for my young children. the first time it kept locking on me, my baby was in her car seat and i was unable to unlock the doors. this was very frightening to me. i must now simultaneously press the unlock button and use my other hand to open the door to be able to enter or exit my vehicle. i called my local honda dealer who told me that he hadn't heard of this problem, and that it would cost $ 127 for a diagnostic test to try to find the cause of the problem. *tr

Driver side door re-locks within 2 seconds of being unlocked by remote or door panel switch. door lock lever is then stuck in the lock position and cannot be manually over ridden nor can the door be opened from inside! battery voltage is ok. same situation whether engine is running or not. not sure what happens if there is a power failure, but it might be that the driver can not unlock the door and get out after a crash. nasty safety issue! *tr

Rear passenger side door slowly unlocks after being key fob-activated or manually locked. this is a serious safety concern, as my child's car seat is anchored on that side of the vehicle. in addition to this concern, my car has recently been broken into and items have been stolen from my vehicle as a result of this manufacturer defect. unacceptable. i am puzzled as to why honda hasn't issued a recall. *tr

When i use keyless entry or key entry, i have about 3 seconds before all locks in the vehicle lock back up. when i get out of the car, this also happens. this happens everytime i get in my car or get out of my car. i tried re-programming the keyless entry and this did not work. i have had my keys locked in my car and had to call a towing company to come unlock the car for me. finally after months and months of this happening, i got into my car on 08/14/2013 using the keyless entry and once my locks locked up and i tried to start my car, the entire car shut down (lights, locks, horn, ignition, car engine.) i had to use the manual restart located on my dash board to get the car to start back up. this all seems like a safety hazard. *tr

This thing happened over a year & now it even worse. all lock sys. will auto lock by themselves after i pressed unlock for 2 seconds; when i'm driving on the road, all four door-locks make the sound too loud with lock & unlock by themselves until i get home. i remember one time; when i took a flyer that stuck on my windshield before i drove home; suddenly, my door had locked by the wind. that made me crazy to find the way to open it because my little boy (10 months) was inside & being locked! i have to ask for help from a locksmith. for 20 minutes standing outside & see my little boy's crying without doing anything to help him!!!!!! now : both rear doors can not be locked! whenever i lock them by the remote or manually. but my front doors are keep locking after two seconds . i'm so worried that some day people will find out my secret ( about doors not locking) & my car will be gone! i asked the dealer to fix the problem. do you know how much to fix that ?? almost $ 400.00 per door (after tax) ! how can i handle that amount for things to be fix which they are not my fault! can some one tell me what should i do ?

I'm having trouble with my door locks. the front door locks don't work properly and the rear hatch also works when it wants to?.....i've read the owners manual and done what it says to do to no avail....please tell me if their is a remedy. *tr

In december, my rear passenger side door would not unlock. i tried to manually unlock the door and the lock would not budge. my baby was in his rear-facing carseat on the rear passenger side of the car so i had to open the rear driver side door to get my baby out through that door. the problem has continued to escalate to the point that as of today (06/11/13), the rear passenger side door will no longer lock and the front passenger side door will only remain unlocked for a few seconds before moving itself back to the locked position. i have an appointment with my local honda dealer tomorrow to fix the problem at my expense. this is a safety issue and based upon the number of complaints i have found on the internet, honda should be forced to issue a recall. i have three children and i fear that if there is an accident and we need to evacuate the vehicle, the door locks may fail all together and we may not be able to safely exit the vehicle. *tr

Door locks normally with key fob or at designated speed of 8mph. however left rear and right front slowly unlock after about 3 seconds. repeated key fob use is to no avail. using the door lock switch or the actual door lock mechanism will still not allow door to remain locked. highly unsafe as there is no way to keep door locked and prevent door from opening. vehicle is now easily hijackable or can be broken into quickly. *tr

This is complaint for the honda cr-v 2007 lx model. the passenger door would not lock, after locking the car. so every time i lock the car, the door lock would re-open.

Windshield wipers run erratically. while driving (in the rain), wipers stopped in the non parked position. then wipers came back on and unable to turn them off even after turning car off and back on. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v. the contact stated that she was unable to get in her vehicle with the lock system. after the vehicle finally unlocked, she had issues getting out of the vehicle. the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. the manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 50,000. the current mileage was approximately 71,000.

Passenger side door automatic lock malfunction. at times would not open/ at times would not lock. when i use the master control (on the drivers side door) or the key fob, the passenger side lock continually clicks. also the locks continue to click open and locked as i drive (especially when i speed up from a stop.) i have heard that many other people have the same type of problems. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v. the contact stated that she was able to remove the key from the ignition without the transmission being in park. as the contact exited the vehicle, it rolled away. the contact immediately placed the vehicle into park but the vehicle continued to roll and did not stop until it crashed into some barn wood. the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 67,000. the current mileage was approximately 69,000...updated 03/18/13 *bf updated 04/02/2013 *js

The drivers side door will lock automatically and will sometimes not unlock. *tr

Both of the front door locks actuators are not working properly. some times when you try to unlock the car the doors won't unlock, in other occasions when you try to lock the car the doors stay unlocked. this is causing the alarm to arm itself and when you open the door the alarm goes off, the only way to turn it off is with the control remote. some times the alarm gets armed while we are in the car and it won?t start due to the defective door latch actuators. in various occasions the doors remained locked while we were in the car. the unlock button does not unlock the doors, even trying to unlock the lock manually wont work. the actuators stay locked!!! i?m pretty sure the back doors will start failing too any time soon. this is definitely a safety issue. honda needs to put out a recall to this problem right a way, or maybe they waiting until someone dies to do something about their poor parts quality. *tr

The passenger rear right (r.rr) door lock actuator failed on 8/25/12 in the locked position then eventually would unlock with the remote fob but would immediately relock on its own. the passenger front (r.fr) door lock actuator failed on 12/10/12 with the same symptoms as the r.rr actuator. the passenger left rear (l.rr) actuator failed on 8/15/13 in the locked mode and would not unlock with the mechanical lever or remote fob. in order to get the door open i had to remove the door panel and dissemble the actuator still installed in the door. *tr

All five door locks will lock immediately after you unlock them making it very difficult to get into or out of the car. the locks will also lock and unlock randomly while driving under 15mph. *tr

My driver door and hood door are unable to open; took it to honda dealer and it's costing me over $800 for them just to break the door panel and then to fix the electrical issue it's a separate bill; this vehicle should be recalled due to electrical issue and i find it to be very unsafe. *tr

Failure of the door lock actuator. the rear driver's-side door continually unlocks, even despite the automatic lock feature. with small children in the back, i am unable to ensure their safety with an unlocked door while driving, or even while parked. also, our belongings are at risk of theft because that door is constantly unlocked, even when locked by hand. despite our efforts, the door unlocks itself immediately after we lock it. *tr

Left rear door lock actuator did not lock after 9 mph per design. believe this to be a safety issue in that passenger in left rear can open door while traveling at high speeds. *tr

Problem started with driver-side rear locks. would not always lock, constantly tried to relock itself while driving, and made rattling sound. problem has spread to all doors. driver side door will not lock at all. passenger-side rear lock will not unlock. hatch will not open. other doors relock themselves immediately so you have less than one second to open door. using the key itself makes no difference. *tr

The locks are acting weird. the car locks automatically when the door is closed. as soon as i get in the doors lock and the same when i get out. when i need to get in the car i need to use the key fob and it unlocks for just a second the locks again quickly. very annoying! i fear the locks will malfunction more and more as time passes. today the alarm went on and i had to start the car and put it in reverse and back in drive then in park and then off to end the alarm. *tr

It started on the back driver's side door. it would not stay locked. it always popped back unlocked. every time i would push on the gas after being stopped a light or slowed down for a speed bump, etc. the doors all tried to relock to get that one door locked, but it would just pop back open again. then, in the last month my driver's side door started to do the same thing. now my locks have gone haywire. they are constantly locking and unlocking. when i turn my car off all the doors will lock. when i try to unlock them they automatically relock in 2 seconds. i have to always keep my keys with me for fear of them getting locked in the car. luckily i stuck a spare underneath the car because the next day my 1 yr old got locked in the car with my keys! today my locks are making an unearthly grinding sound every time they try to lock which could be 20 times just in one trip to the grocery store. i really would like the dealer to fix their own mistake. *tr

Car security system automatically lock doors after a few seconds of unlocking. can not unlock car with keys have to use fob. right side passenger door wont lock proppally. *tr

Powers locks began to get stuck on passenger back door. they would re-lock immediately upon unlocking. this went on for about 2-3 months. after that, the locks on all doors starting locking and un-locking when driving slow, i.e., merging into traffic, driving through development, another 2-3 months. it now has stopped that and makes a horrible loud grinding sound when you lock and unlock the doors. i am worried that at some that the locks will quit working completely.

I previously filed a complaint about my car doors locking and unlocking. does someone have to lose their life for honda to recognize the problem here? or maybe one of our children from being locked inside? *tr

Right front passenger door will not stay locked, no matter how i try to lock it. it locks and slowly opens itself. *tr

The locks intermittently do not stay locked. they will unlock on their own while driving. the car will not lock properly while it is on. it also does not lock properly while it is off. all doors except the driver door is affected. *tr

The vehicle began resetting door locks whenever vehicle was stopped and accelerated through 6 or 7 mph. so far it is just the front, right passenger door, but based on hundreds of other complaints it seems like it will only be getting worse. this is very unsafe because i live in a city and anyone could easily jump into the car and hijack the vehicle. this puts everyone in danger of being harmed and puts my car at great risk of theft. it is ridiculous that this has not gotten a recall when it has been a problem for years. i only have 34,000 miles on my car. there is no reason why my car should be experiencing electrical problems. i have to manually lock the door and even when i do it still reopens itself sometimes. this seems to be a common problem. the government needs to get involved. these car companies should not be getting away with selling defective products. they should take responsibility for selling a defective product. toyota was not penalized until people started dying. it is only a matter of time before a honda owner becomes the victim. *tr
