Upon replacing rear rotor's and brakes i discovered that the mounting point for the rear trailing arm was rusted out and not replaceable. upon investigation this seems to be a common issue with this model, and currently has a recall with honda canada, but not in the us. the car has been makeing noises while in motion and breaking so i assumed it was rust build up on my caliper mount bracket. sadly its a poor design that honda wont admit that northern states that use salt this is a key point issue. ive been driving my daughter around in this.
I was driving on highway 101 in california in moderate traffic when there was an unexpected slowdown. i braked in time, but the vehicle behind me did not. i was rear-ended and my car was totaled. i was not injured. however, the person in the passenger seat, who was wearing her seat belt, was thrown forward. she struck her head on the dashboard (possibly the grill) and incurred a serious eye injury that required surgery to repair. i am reporting this because although the lap portion of the seat belt restrained her, apparently the shoulder portion did not. the accident is documented in traffic collision report #9360-2020-00053 issued by the california highway patrol, 6100 labath ave., rohnert park, ca. 707-588-1400. the photo i've attached was taken about three days after the accident.
The car body exterior is showing significant paint problems on the roof and the back trunk door. the paint is chalking and paint on the front is cracked.
I was pulling into the parking lot, when the car started to accelerate on its own! i push the brake pedal to the max and it kept on going, over cement stoppers, grass, and finally a tree stop it from continuing! and i am not a zenior citizen yet!
The paint on my civic is peeling around the rear window. the peeling is noticeable, growing, and not a function of neglect or abuse. it's like the paint was not properly applied or there is some manufacturer error that is causing the problem. the paint color is cosmic blue. it is only peeling in one spot.
I was involved in a major car accident on the freeway involving my 2017 honda civic. traffic was at a slow/stop on the freeway and a tahoe collided into my vehicle. i was sandwiched in-between a nissan titan and chevy tahoe. my car was totaled and sustained significant damage to both the front and back. despite this major impact, none of my airbags deflated.
My 2016 honda civic ex-t was purchased brand new on 2016. in less than 40,000 miles, my air conditioning unit blows hot air. it is currently in the shop replacing the ac unit. they said there was a leak and i am sure refrigerant is not a safe chemical to be leaking out in the environment.
While washing my 2 day old car a chunk of paint blows off the lower kick panel. dealer told me it was my fault and they weren't going to pay for it. i told them they could have the car back. suddenly they were going to repair it. they told me they replaced the entire panel. 2 days ago almost exactly 1 year to the day,i was washing my car and in the exact same place a chunk of paint blows off ( a bit ironic). i went to a different dealer (cant trust superstition springs after they lied to me). i called honda they said no problem to take it to another dealer. the dealer i took it to said i would have to pay for the repair since honda said they had paid for the fix once. no way they replaced the panel because they have no record of it ever being replaced and the paper work i have does not state the panel was replaced. they didnt change the panel, they slapped some touch up on it and sent me on my way.
Paint is peeling where the rear window meets the roof. just noticed, not sure how long it has been happening.
Air condition compressor relay stuck at 75k miles. compressor not engaging at 83k miles. windshield gasket/trim began deteriorating about the same time.
