Over 4 weeks ago, 2 weeks after leasing the 2020 car, the dashboard started to display numerous error messages. the car was evaluated at the dealer, honda of freehold, nj, and i was told that a certain module failed. soon thereafter a tire warning light also started to display and once again the dealer told us not to be concerned as it is likely as a result of the same module. not taking their word for it, i brought the car to a costco repair shop and a large nail was discovered in the tire. i've been in touch with the dealer and have also called many times to the corporate offices. the same answer was given ' the part is on back order and 'we will call you when we get it'. no additional information or suggestion was given to us. in the meantime, over 4 weeks later, although the car is drivable none of the safety features are operational and i am not sure what warning lights to trust or ignore.
My honda civic experienced severe rear tire wear on the inside edges about 10 months after purchase (as a new vehicle). in october 2009, the dealer replaced both rear upper control arms as described in honda service bulletin 08-001, which has since been replaced by sb 13-047 (attached). the arm replacement was intended to return the tire camber angle to zero (see alignment criteria in last page of tsb) so the the wheel would be perpendicular to the road, and no longer cause wear at the inside edges. at a recent inspection, the tires were again found to be worn at the inside edges: there was about 1/4 inch of tread on the outside edge, but the cords were showing on the inside edges. i validated that the dealer had actually installed new control arms (they are marked with a "c" as described in the bulletin). using a level, i determined that the top edge of the wheel was leaning inward about 9/16" inch, so it is apparent that the replacement arms do not correct the camber angle problem. it is true that the tire wear rate has been reduced by the replacement arms. ...
It was raining, i went to slow down and it was as if the front wheels locked up, tcs blinking on and off, and the tires remained pulling as if power was still being sent to the front two, locked up, tires and i had no control as the car pulled me straight forward into the side of another vehicle resulting in a collision that had me hit a stopped car so hard it spun the other car around and totaled my car. this all happened within 500 feet of where i initially pulled out onto the road i was traveling on when the car started to malfunction to the road where i attempted to turn onto to avoid the crash and could not maneuver the vehicle at all.
The tpms has came on warning of a low tire. the tires were checked and none were low. this has happened a couple of times. today while driving something punctured the side wall of the tire and it went flat the tpms did not indicate a low tire. i pulled to a safe place and changed the flat tire. the vehicle was left running and the tpms finally came on when i dropped the flat tire into the trunk. the tmps on my sons 2019 civic has indicated a low tire a couple of different times and the tires are at correct psi.
Today, i was driving my 2019 honda civic sport to performance honda in fairfield, oh for a warranty-related problem regarding tpms and a faulty tire. the biggest issue is that the front, left tire did not hold air. every few days, i had to add air to my tires/reset the tpms system, as described by owners.honda.com. within the last week, my front, left, tire lost air so quickly that i decided to take the vehicle in for service. as of today, the vehicle has 4,000.00 miles (exact). during the trip there, the front, left tire blew out and jerked me to the left (60 mph). while easing into the brake (not pumping), i steered to the right and pulled into the shoulder lane. upon stopping, i shifted into, "p," and then activated the parking brake. then, i took my my foot off the brake and turned on the emergency flashers. i called aaa and got towed the rest of the way there. tpms needs to tell the driver what the pressure is in each tire; my grandfather has a 2019 vehicle that does. at least i was not injured today!
All 4 of my michelin tires are splitting in the sidewalls (shoulder). they have not gone flat, but i am afraid to drive at high speeds. i complained to michelin and they agreed that it was a defect, but refused to do anything about it such as contact you or announce a recall. they are "defender" tires dot apwc 113x 2312. size 205 55 16.
I bought my car new and have had it only 3 1/2 years. my issues started with my battery failing twice within a year of each other. i had to replace all 4 tires with new ones only a year after buying it because the tires were so worn down as if they were not new to begin with. then i had a system failure that required my car to be taken in to service for a couple days. then more recently i had a transmission piece failure that emptied my transmission fluid to the point that i was driving on the road and my car slowly stopped moving which eventually had me stranded on the side of the road for a couple hours until i was able to get towed. honestly one of the worst experiences in my life. i was by myself on the side of a wooded area while it was getting dark. when i had my car not start it was in a stationary potion. when my car had a weird system molt down i was driving and when the transmission started acting up i was also driving. when driving i was on a ...
Twice while driving at 60 mph the cruise control dropped out for no reason. i have low pressure alarms for no reason. these were always while i was driving. i had 6 in may and june took it to the dealer on july 3, they could not find anything wrong. that afternoon i had the low pressure alarm come on for no reason tires at at normal pressure.
As i drove the car off the lot they tried to say it ''twas bad tires they replaced it when it was really the wheel bearings. and i'm in finance with no background in car mechanics and i knew there was something wrong as soon as i drove of the lot. and then they tried to say who would have known but several of my friends and mechanics said it wasn't obvious so they fixed it. i then told them beforehand i got the vehicle purchased that i required a state inspection to make sure it fell under the inspection rules of texas and they swore and signed off on paperwork that this was done on two separate work forms. well while i was driving i was ran off the road as my horn didn't function at all after they had sworn they had done two inspections at this point and i have the paperwork to prove it. i could have lost my life in an accident if i had no drove off in the shoulder and the. i come back to the dealership and they try to say it wasn't them and that it could have stopped working on ...
