I was in a car accident and the airbag did not deploy. i continue to have pain and injuries that have not healed.
I have 2 recalls and i need the notification for them gone asap so i can ship my car overseas. the issues stated about the "air bag" and "floor mats" have yet to cause a concern to my driving and or handling ability. i don't have the time to go through these recalls as i am military and need my vehicle shipped but the recalls are whats kicking me back.
The airbag srs warning light comes on intermittently when i am driving it and i cannot pinpoint when/why. this happened a year ago and the dealership said it was the cable reel in the steering wheel which was replaced. 10 months later (and less than 1000 miles driven) and the airbag srs warning light is continuing to come on intermittently (driving city streets and highway - sometimes it comes on after 15 minutes of driving, sometimes it doesn't come on for for multiple times of driving). i brought it to the dealership and they said they could not duplicate the error and that it could be airbag assembly or clock spring. there are numerous complaints online about intermittent airbag light and honda should be addressing this if it's a manufacturing issue. i do not feel safe driving nor comfortable paying $1200 to replace driver airbag assembly when it's not even clear if there's an issue. honda should be researching this issue and addressing it, particularly with the number of similar complaints. it is unsafe.
According to nhtsa recall number 20v-027, my vehicle is equipped with a defective airbag that, if deployed in an accident, could seriously injure or kill me. honda states that free recall inspections and free repairs will not begin for one year, as alternative replacement parts are not yet available. what am i supposed to do until then? i travel around 200 miles weekly for work, and i cannot afford to buy another car. i feel like i'm risking my life every time i step in my car now. would i be better off just removing the airbag myself?
Nothing has happened yet, but i am worried something will. the problems with the airbags on my car are beyond ridiculous at this point and something needs to be done. i am worried about my safety when driving my only car. the vehicle has already been recalled twice now and it seems that the airbag problems have still not been resolved. honda is unable to fix the current issue until they have the parts, which could be a long time. i am either forced to get a new car or drive in a car that might have airbags that won't deploy in an accident. is something going to be done about all the cars on the road with these problems.

Passenger airbag replaced from recall and driver side air bag not replaced is not in recall. the show marketplace on cbs did a segment on dealership ripoffs and came across the air bag(s) issue on a 2008 honda civic. (takata) is the company for said airbags. same make and model as mine.has metal shards need to be replaced was not recalled. this is a safety concern and should be addressed while the recall is out. these airbags can go off at anytime while driving or sitting
Once a month roughly while i'm driving my airbag light comes on the dash and reads "check airbag" i know this is wrong because nothing is wrong. if i pull over and shut my car off wait 30 secs then turn it back on the error message will turn off.
