I was driving to work on i-77 and while the vehicle was in motion, the vehicle stopped accelerating. i would push on the gas and the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle began to slow. i could have got into an accident but pulled off onto the right side of the highway. the car was running but would not accelerate. i called my insurance company to tow the vehicle. the honda dealership who assessed the car said the transmission went out. there is only 100,364 miles on the car and the transmission should just stop working. there is a known problem (recall) with the 2015 honda civic but my vin isnt included. honda knows they need to extended or open recall to include more vins. this is hondas mess up buy putting in a faulty transmission.
My car was involved in an accident last night after being stopped on the freeway. while driving on the freeway i noticed my car driving strange( sounding and feeling like it was in the wrong gear) moments later the check engine light came on and 2 warnings in the dashboard about my engine and transmission systems. my car begin to decelerate, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the freeway and being hit in the rear by another driver. i found this very strange and dangerous due to my car being a 2015 and properly maintained. i would like to know what happened.
On 10-31-19, driving my 2016 honda civic 1.5 turbo engine taking my kids to school. car was driving well, until a reach about 1 mile, while making a left turn the car loss power and can only drive up to 15 mph. i have to drive my car back home and get my other car. the honda never regains normal power. the same date in the evening, i drove the honda for about 3 miles around my neighborhood and never loss power. the following date, i drove the car and suddenly again loss power while making a right turn a block away from my house. drove back my honda back to my house with the car never regaining normal power. the honda civic only drives well for less than a quarter mile and then suddenly loss power, especially when making a turn. this is a safety hazard. when the car loss power it only drives up to 15 mph (which takes several seconds to reach 15 mph) and never regain normal power. this loss of power started on 10-31-19, which was a very cool day about 24-degree fahrenheit. my car is not driver able any longer. now that this ...
I was driving home on i-80 and while the vehicle was in motion, the vehicle stopped accelerating. i would push on the gas and the vehicle would not accelerate. rpms would go to 4000. the vehicle began to slow. i could have got into an accident but pulled off onto the right side of the highway. the car was running but would not accelerate. i called my insurance company to tow the vehicle. the auto shop who assessed the car said the transmission went out. there is only 158,000 miles on the car and the transmission should just stop working. the shop said it would be $5100 to replace.
I have a 2012 honda civic lx, it has intermittent problems with unintended acceleration. it occurred twice on the highway and also urban area. just this morning, it happened again i was on the highway when i noticed the car suddenly accelerates and speeds up without stepping the gas pedal. fortunately the brakes responded to slow down. i came out of the highway, and i had to stop at a red light but still it was a constant fight acceleration by itself and stepping on the brake until the car will operate normally.
Adaptive cruise control was engaged at a stop light. when the car in front moved adaptive cruise would not disengage. there was at least 30 feet clearance to the next object. cruise was turned off and the brakes released.
Takata recall. i've had this car for 3 yrs. the problem with it is that, when i come to a stop while driving it doesn't wanna take off. it hesitates for about 30 sec. the problem is that its dangerous when i turn left it stays in the middle of the st and i can get hit. at one point i had to put it in emergency lights and turn it off and on. then it worked. its been doing it for about 4 months at least twice a day. it started in about april. at first it wasn't that often then it started everyday. it happens anywhere, st highway, fwy, city even when i wanna reverse. im not sure why its doing it i've taken it to the mechanic about 4 times. i do all oil changes everything , tire changes, rotations, the mechanic can't find anything. he even changed a sensor and it still does it.
Twice while driving at 60 mph the cruise control dropped out for no reason. i have low pressure alarms for no reason. these were always while i was driving. i had 6 in may and june took it to the dealer on july 3, they could not find anything wrong. that afternoon i had the low pressure alarm come on for no reason tires at at normal pressure.
While driving (50+/- mph) on a two lane state road, my 2019 honda civic hatchback sport cmbs (collision mitigation braking system) automatically engaged, bringing my vehicle very close to a complete stop for no reason i could see. there were no vehicles in front of me in either direction and fortunately no vehicle following or i would have been rear-ended. clear morning, nothing on the roadway, no wildlife i saw. dry and sunny, no leaves, no breeze, bare pavement. a sweet june morning in dutchess county, ny. out of the blue the cmbs engaged automatically applying the brakes so hard i could feel the abs kicking on and in moments i was at a crawl, then the car simply behaved normally again. i've owned this car less than a week. there is no means provided to shut this feature off permanently. the only way to override the cmbs is to manually turn it off every time i restart the car. it resets every time the car is turned off. this feature may wind up causing more rear end collisions as it avoids front end collisions. what would the consequences be if that scenario happened while on a curve, driving 50 ...
The car slowed down while driving on city streets, and then stopped completely. also when i stopped or was slowing down, made a turn or braking the same thing occurred. this happened several times on individual days. i put on my flashing hazard lights to prevent being hit from behind on busy streets. i have read about his happening to several other drivers when i was researching it online. this is a very dangerous situation. i do not feel safe driving his car, it's like russian roulette. i am having it checked out tomorrow at a honda dealer.it may take a while for diagnosis of the cause. i was surprised that this was not listed as a recalled vehicle. since his has happened on different dates i will just list the latest date below.
