Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda civic. while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, the contact noticed a puddle of coolant under the engine. the vehicle was towed to lundgren honda (163 washington st, auburn, ma 01501) where it was determined that the engine block was fractured, leaking coolant, and needed replacement. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 137,039. *pm*jb
While driving i smelled then saw smoke coming out of the gear shift area. i pulled over, turned off and exited my car. i opened the hood and within minutes my car was engulfed in flames. the fire department had to come put it out. *tr

2006 honda civic. consumer writes in regards to unsatisfactory customer service at dealership with issues in replacement of auto tensioner pivot bolt service bulletin 09-007. *m the consumer did not believe the tsb was completed as indicated by the dealership. the consumer stated the oversight, has led to a catastrophic malfunction of the vehicle.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle jerked and lost power. in addition, the contact stated that coolant had to continuously be added to the vehicle and the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to multiple dealers, who were unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 78,000. updated 09/03/15*lj updated 09/10/15.*jb
2006 honda civic. consumer writes in regards to coolant leaks coming from engine block and transmission. *smd the honda dealer verified the engine block was cracked. the consumer was informed the vehicle was not covered under warranty even though the vin was the correct year to be covered. the consumer was informed it would cost 5,000 out of pocket. *jb
While trying to pull into an isle of a parking lot for the purpose of finding a parking space, the engine suddenly accelerated on its own and out of control spinning around, jumping a curb and crashing into a tree, and four other automobiles parked on the parking lot causing property damage to five automobiles including my automobile. *tr
While driving on the interstate, the car was no longer accelerating. while stepping on the gas the engine was revving but the speed would not increase. as i was only a short way from an exit, i was able to get off of the interstate, down the exit ramp, and to the stop light prior to the local roads as the car would still drive but only less than 40 mph. upon getting to the stop light, the car no longer responded to the gas pedal going forward, i was able to back up to a space in between turn lanes. i placed my hazard lights on and called triple a for a tow truck. my car was towed to a local auto body where i was informed the car's transmission had gone, to their surprise as the car is in "great condition". *tr

I was rear ended at low speed at the end of september. the bumper was replaced and when i got my car back, i started noticing changes in vision, headaches, and hearing loss. about two weeks later, i was traveling on the highway at about 70 mph when i started feeling faint. i pulled over to the side of the road and thought i was well enough to drive. i got back on the highway and started to feel worse. my vision dimmed, my left hand started cramping, i started sweating and shaking, and a very nearly fainted while operating the vehicle. i was able to pull over and call 911 and was taken to the hospital. the doctors could not find anything wrong with me. the following week, i had issues with forgetfulness, disorientation, and impaired vision and hearing. my roommate, who drove the car home from where i left it on the side of the road to go to the hospital, also felt strange after she drove it. i've since been to a neurologist and a cardiologist and neither can find an issue with me and agree it must be something related to the car. the longer i've ...
