We have classified the 168 complaints from 2007 Honda Civic about VISIBILITY into the following categories.
The driver's side sun visor on my 2007 honda civic ex 2 door suddenly burst open, it will not go in the up position now. it is a hazard with night driving since it won't go up. this should be a safety recall. *tr
I purchased a 2007 honda civic in late may 2007. in sept 2008, the sun visor on the driver's side broke. when i contacted honda they stated that this problem always occurs in warm climates. the sun visor will malfunction in warm climates and it is clear that this is a problem on a large scale that should be corrected by honda. i contacted honda and they said until the nhtsa officially recalls the visors, they are under no obligation to do so. early this month in may, the passenger sun visor broke inthe same manner. honda is currently stating that they cannot cover this under warranty because the car has exceed its mileage limit of 36,000 miles. however, this equipment failure is not related to mileage but in fact they have acknowledged that the part in the sun visor will break in all warm climates. *tr
Passenger side visor failed. the visor cracks and is no longer connected to the rod. this is the second time it has happened. the failure is due to heat from the sun. *tr
Driving along at 65 mph on the freeway and the driver's side sun visor split open at the "glued" seam and it fell down in my lap, nearly causing me to have a serious accident as it obscured my vision and certainly startled me. there are hundreds if not thousands of complaints about the sun visors on civic's model years 2006-08 all over the internet. *tr
Honda civic 2007 visor pops open and does not grab. visor floats down into field of vision. honda not issuing recall they don't believe it is a safety issue. maybe a lawyer will convince them. *tr
While driving my 2007 honda civic coupe at approximately 70 mph on highway 67 south near newport, ar, my rear window flew off the car. luckily, there were no cars behind me at the time. after some quick research, there were a number of complaints regarding this happening on the 2006 honda civic coupe. it appears that there is little to no adhesive where the rear window used to be. i talked to honda and they said that they would not cover the cost to replace the window because my car has 43k miles on it.
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that the drivers side sun visors fractured and would not stay in the upright position, causing obstruction to the drivers view of the road. the sun visor was repaired by the dealer. the contact stated that the manufacturer should issue a recall due to the amount of sun visor complaints regarding the failure. the failure mileage was 54,000.
2007 honda civic lx coupe has defective sun visors. at first visor very loose. over time visor would not stay up. this hinders driving and being able to see the traffic signals. now the entire visor has come off as it won't stay on its hinge. now i drive in the morning facing the sun and drive home facing the sun. very difficult to see traffic in front of you with the sun in your face. honda agrees i can get a replacement at my expense but i understand this is a flaw with many honda civic owners. *tr
Paint is peeling on car big areas on roof and car is only 5 yrs old, sunvisor broke into pieces and they wouldn't replace it even though it had a recall on it, and engine mount broke also. *tr
i have purchased the brand new march 2007 honda civic on may 2007. the driver's side sun visor is broken and does not remain in up position nor remain on the side. this is a driving hazard as it blocks and obstructs the driver's view, and will hit the driver with vehicle movement. it causes a huge issue with visibility on the road. not so much during the day but very much at night to the point where it is extremely annoying to drive with it at night. it is under warranty for three years but car driven more then 30,000 miles. when i go to schaumburg honda they said it is never covered under warranty because it is wear & tear. i also have bumper to bumper warranty even though they did not care to verify warranty and quoted me parts $65.00 and installation charge $36.00. this is given in writing by dealer on 02/16/2010. *tr
2007 honda civic sun visors split open and will not stay up. the visor then dangles down in the driver's face and partially obstructs vision. from online complaint forums, appears to happen in 2006 and 2008s too. although there may be a tech bulletin, the dealer would not replace, and the problems appears to happen on replacements as well. *tr
While trying to put my sun visor down i heard something crack, and after that the visor will not stay closed any more. it also happened on the passenger side 2 weeks ago. *tr
Windshield wiper does not park itself in the right position when turning off. while driving, sometimes the windshield wiper will stop in the middle of the windshield thus blocking portions of my view. this occurs on several occasions when the outside temperature is below 40 degrees f and raining/snowing. when the wiper fail to park itself in the correct position, it blocks driver's view and could cause an accident. issue occurred a few times on highway travel and partially block my view of a lane barrier. brought to dealership and dealership could not reproduce problem. *tr
I have a 2007 honda civic ex. the drivers side sun visor has split along the hinge line and will not stay in the up position. this blocks my view of the road at unwanted times and has caused me to have instances of blind vision to traffic around me. *tr
Driver's side visor cracked and fell apart. visor will not fall suddenly and obstruct my view. *tr
Sun visor attachment fails (the visor splits apart) and falls into line of sight. the visor will not stay up. replacement visors do the same thing. i have had the visor replaced 3 times. *tr
2007 honda civic, both sun visors have had to be replaced. i have purchased the care brand new march 2007 - and this will be the 4th time getting these replaced, i have called honda's 800 number twice and they just keep telling me i am under warranty. well, what happens if the thing breaks again while i am driving and get into an accident? this is an issue and i have to drive 60 miles round trip every time i need these replaced. i think honda should look into these visors - this is a safety issue - i live in fl and use my visors everyday. i should not have to have them replaced 4 times within 2 years! *tr
When the windshield wipers are turned off, they intermittently do not stop (park) at the correct location at the bottom of the windshield or they continue to run. *tr
I own a 2007 honda civic, i have replaced 2 sun visors so far and today the driver side broke and the passengers is about to fail due to the noise it makes, i saw the very problems on u-tubes, that is my problem. i have to remove it because it keeps falling down blocking my view but have no protection from sun glare which could cause an accident which almost happened last year when it failed, i am out of warranty and it is ridiculous i have to replace the sun-visor every year. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that the sun visor became fractured and it impaired her vision. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised her that the sun visor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 35,000. the current mileage was 87,894.
The sun visors in my 2007 honda civic are defective. the plastic inside the visor weakens and breaks in the heat, and the visor no longer stays in place. it can drop into the driver's line of vision at any time, posing a hazard for visibility when driving. it can no longer be used to block the sun, so visibility is reduced when driving into the sun as well. *tr
Honda civic sun visors, split, break and lose their ability to stay fixed while driving. i'm in need in replacing my 3rd sun visor. the visors on the honda civic drops and obstructs a clear view when driving and is a major safety concern. honda dealers tell consumers that it's due to heat in the area where i live, but there are many websites listing complaints from with other honda owners who live in an areas with cooler temperatures. regardless of where one resides, i am uncomfortable driving my car with fear that the visor will drop without warning, startle me and obstruct my view. how does one get through to the honda manufacturer that this is a major problem that must be resolved, not just replaced at the owner's expense. *tr
The sun visor is broken in my 2007 honda civic ex. when it first happened, i was able to muscle it up into the proper closed position, but since i park in the sun, and need to use a sun shade, i need to put down the sun shade, then muscle it back into the closed position again. this morning as i put down the shade, i heard a loud cracking sound, and saw that the shade is falling apart now, with broken pieces of plastic now falling out of the shade. this is a design flaw that several others have reported. i have a 100 mile commute to work, so the car was long out of warranty when this first happened, based on mileage, and i can't afford to have this repaired at my cost, so i will have to attempt to repair it myself, as there has been no recall initiated by honda for this extremely common issue. *tr
The driver's side sun visor is broken and does not remain in up position nor remain on the side. this is a driving hazard as it blocks and obstructs the driver's view, and will hit the driver with vehicle movement. *tr
My 2006 civic hybrid sedan has had 4 sets of sun visors put in it while under warranty. the sun visors break internally and will not go all the way up or down. when this happens the visors hang down about three inches from the front roof line right in the drivers field of view. when trying to place the visor all the way forward it does the same thing and hangs about three inches down in the drivers field of view. my sun visor failures all happened during the summer and the manufacturer has not offered a fix for this part. *tr
I took my honda civic lx to get water leaks around the windshield repaired. the mechanic told me i'd be called back to get the entire windshield replaced, however, despite continuous follow up with the dealerships service department they have not done anything to repair my windshield. the latest news i received with run-around calls is that the dealer has to make an appointment with another vendor. i am very worried for my safety. i drive on the highway on a daily basis. can you help me get this resolved? i've been dealing with pompano beach honda, 5381 north federal highway, pompano beach, fl 33064. *tr
Sun visor on 2007 honda civic cracking (driver side). *tr
I pulled down the sun visor on the passenger side and a few seconds later my husband pulled down his drivers side)visor in our 2007 honda civic lx and they both cracked and wouldn't go back up. this obstructed our view and made it difficult for him to see the road while driving and posing a safety hazard. *tr
Sun visor in 2007 lx civic coupe failed in hot weather. the plastic melted and spring broke through so that it does not function and partially obstructs view. replaced the visor the first time in 2008, and the new one broke again in 2009. the part is not under warranty by honda. *tr
Faulty sun visor on drivers side ... has broke twice ... visor can not be moved so always hanging straight down ... can not see street lights ... have to slide down in the street to see stop signs, etc. *tr
8th generation honda civic models have a common problem of sun visor hinge failures that cause the visor to always stay in the down position. this is not so much of a problem during the day, but it severely limits the sight of the driver at night. this is a problem with all 8th gen civics, but honda refuses to cover the repair, or to recall the visor. *tr
2007 honda civic visor is defective, splits, falls down and obstructs driver's view and can cause accident. safety issue. honda replaced once. now failed again. claims not under warranty-not a safety issue. what do i do with my 16 yr. old daughter when this happens while she is driving? please make this a recall. otherwise, i'll be replacing twice a year forever. thank you so much. *tr
Both driver and passenger sun visors in honda civic 2007 model cracking and falling apart. hangs and does not go up in the stow position easily without wanting to pop off. blocks driver's view and can no longer do a good job of blocking the sun out of the field of view. this situation can easily lead to a dangerous driving condition. i've reported the problem to honda usa and they are not making a recall or a redesign on this part. so the broken/cracked sun visors are being replaced by new parts that are designed to fail in the future. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that the drivers side sun visor was replaced in 2009 after the sun caused the plastic to melt. the sun visor was damaged twice. the manufacturer stated that the warranty would not cover the repair cost and that they would not provide any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 38,000 and the current mileage was 49,000.
I purchased a new honda civic sedan in 2007. at around 40,000 miles, the driver's side visor has split apart and will not stay up. it flops down making it difficult for me to see the roads. i have not taken the visor to get repaired, but my research shows that this has happened to several other owners of the same type of vehicle. *tr
I have now owned this vehicle for two years and in that time i have had to have the passenger side sun visor replaced twice to date and today, am taking my car in once again for the driver side sun visor to be repaired for the third time. needlessly to say at this point i am getting quite aggravated with this particular problem. every time one of the visor's break it causes a vision issue for me while i am driving; i commute to work 45 minutes one way i am told the glue holding the visor in our 100+ degree temperature does not hold. each time it is repaired but does not last. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. while driving approximately 45 mph, the driver's side sun visor failed to remain in an elevated secured position. the defective sun visor obstructed the driver's visibility. the failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in motion or stationary. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they replaced the sun visor. the failure mileage was 7,500 and current mileage was 8,000. updated 08/28/09 *bf updated 08/31/09.*jb
The driver side sunvisor on my 2007 honda civic sedan cracked so it no longer stays up, thus creating a safety hazard. this is the first summer where i've parked my car outside during the day so i believe the part failing is heat related. *tr
2007 honda civic ex sun visor broken where it attaches to the ceiling of the car. my car is still under warranty and i have had both sun visors replaced a total of 4 times. after it breaks, i have had to have it replaced immediately because it causes a huge issue with visibility on the road. not so much during the day but very much at night to the point where it is extremely annoying to drive with it at night. *tr
I have a 2007 honda civic lx. hot day, opened the car door and sat down and noticed my sun visor flapped down and busted. looked online to see if this was a common problem and view hundreds of complaints and the pictures of what happened to my case. buerkle honda in minnesota wants to charge me 125.00 to fix a problem that was not my fault and is obviously a common problem that they are ignoring. *tr
Drivers side visor fails to return to "up" position hangs down. *tr
I own a honda civic 4 dr auto transmission, and have issues with poor quality sun visors. the sun visors break apart every summer i have owned vehicle for three years and changed the sun visor atleast thrice till now for no cost. but now i being charged since warranty is over. why do i have to pay for known quality issue? *tr
2007 honda civic si sun visor separation and hangs in the field of vision. there is a defect in the manufacturing or design of the sun visors of honda civics. the unit breaks apart without warning and will no loger be able to retract out of the drivers field of vision. i repaired the driver's side under warranty, and now the passenger side has become a problem, and hangs straight down with no ability to adjust the position. i have reviewed several sites on the internet to conclude that this is not an isolated error, but a continuing defect. *tr
Sun visors split in half. once the visors are split, they will not hold a "tucked up" position, but rather will hang down and obstruct the driver's vision. the problem is chronic and there is now a class action lawsuit that has forced the vehicle manufacturer to extend the warranty on the sun visors. however, the broken visors are being replaced by another visor with the same design defect. after a brief period of use, the new sun visor also fails. the vehicle manufacturer needs to create a new design without the flaw and replace the old design with the new design at the manufacturer's expense. *tr
2007 honda civic. sunvisors split open and hang down in front of the windshield causing the driver to have full view of the road. *tr
2007 honda civic sun visor breaks and hangs down blocking drivers vision. *tr
i own two 2007 honda civic lx coupe & sedan with15,000 miles and coupe with 30,000 miles. both cars have the same sun visor problem. it breaks and will not stay in up postion. the visor could suddenly fall in front of the driver and cause an accident. *tr
2007 honda civic ex, driver and passenger sun visor breaks and flops/hangs down obstructing vision. occurred on drivers side first - replaced under warranty, passenger side occurred a year later but not replaced because not under warranty anymore. *tr
2007 honda civic driver side sun visor keeps breaking i have gone through two already and honda will not replace it for me. *tr
2007 honda civic visors (drivers and passenger sides) break when it gets hot and they flop down unexpectedly interfering with the drivers line of sight. this is the car my daughter drives and i am very concerned about the problem because honda is doing nothing to fix the problem. i live in arizona and the visor can't take the heat. i have had both visors replaced 3 times and they are broken again. aside from the obvious inconvenience, i truly believe this is a safety issue yet the keep putting in the same defective visors. *tr
