Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. while driving at any speed, the windshield wiper switch was activated and the windshield wipers stopped in the middle of the windshield and obstructed the contact's visibility. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the issue recurred numerous times. the dealer informed the contact of nhtsa campaign number: 08v169000 (visibility); however, the vin was not included in the recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 89,000. *tr

Sunvisors: the sun visors on this car fell apart without any damage to them. either the visor completely fell out or the visor will not stay up causing an obstruction/distraction while driving. there has been a recall on the 2008 models; however, there are problems with this year as well. *tr
The driver's side sun visor dropped down, blocking me vision (i'm 6'1). it seems to be broken, for no apparent reason and won't go back inplace. *tr
Driver's window moves up and down. i put window up, and it comes down by itself. minor issue is clearcoat paint peeling off of bumper. *tr
My driver side sun visor would not close causing it to hang down. i got into my car smashed my head into the visor causing me pain, and tenderness on the top of my head. *tr
The sun visor (passenger side) on my 2007 honda civic si split open in the hot sun while sitting in the driveway. it is not repairable and will not stay in the upright position. *tr
The driver side interior sun visor came apart and came down into the driver's line of sight for no apparent reason. further inspection indicated that it had split at the seam near the left side with internal damage to the visor rendering it beyond repair. *tr
The visor is cracked and will not stay up. *tr
Driver's side visor just fell apart. it was not acting any different and then i went to position it back to its resting position before pulling out of work and it failed. housing has separated which kept the interior workings in place. now the visor has slipped out from around the mechanism and i do not have the ability to position it to assist me in driving safely. *tr
Driver's sun visor split apart at the top seam, with the inner spring sticking out so it won't go back into place without (for now) using both hands to squeeze everything back in and try to reposition, otherwise it just hangs down and blocks view. cannot safely lower the visor to use, so driving looking into the sun etc becomes hazardous. searched online to see if this was a design problem, and after reading posts from a few hundred different owners with the same problem (many have had the visors replaced multiple times), i gave up reading the other posts.. *tt
I left my driver side sun visor down and with the heat it split apart. the visor now hangs down in the line of vision while driving and i will have to have it replaced. *tt
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that the windshield wipers malfunctioned and would operate without being activated. the contact referenced a technical service bulletin (nhtsa item number: 07-071: visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor) and the dealer confirmed the tsb but advised that the motor would have to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 36,600.
Both sun visors on 07 honda civic ex split, visors will no longer stay in the up position. visors cause a distraction and is a safety issue. you can get them replaced at honda dealership but they give you the same visors that they know are defective and will not last. visors are very cheaply made. *tt
I own a 2007 honda civic lx which i purchased from dealer new. recently my driver side sun visor "ruptured" open, and no longer stays in the secure position. it drops down in front of me while driving and obstructs my vision. i am tall, so this is a safety visibility issue for me. apparently honda issued a recall for this issue, and also settled on a class action lawsuit and acknowledged a defect in the visor. however, the recall only extends up to 100,000 miles and i have more than that, so the dealer says honda will not cover it and i will have to pay out of pocket. that is very wrong, particularly when honda has acknowledged defective part, and it is clearly a safety issue. *tr
Driver and passenger side sun visor in our 2007 honda civic breaks in the summer time. it cracks at the joint that mounts to the roof. causes visors to hang down all the time and hamper view. apparently a defect in the materials. *kb
I drive a 2007 honda civic, and lately the driver's side sun visor has been difficult to move. this has been happening for over a year now, and last week i noticed the casing near the rod around which the visor rotates cracking. today the visor came off completely and i realize that the teeth securing the visor to the rod don't rotate around the rod anymore, forcing the plastic in the visor to warp and eventually break completely. this causes the visor to stay completely down, blocking much of the field of vision. as the vehicle is out of warranty, i'm sure i'll have to pay for the part. *tr
The visor on my honda civic 2007 has cracked and hangs down in my face causing visibility of the road to be greatly diminished. due to the cracked visor you are unable to get the visor to go back up and stay up so everytime i drive my car i can barely see the road. if i wreck my car due to this error in the make of honda civics i will sue honda for not having a recall on something that is extremely dangerous for myself and all other drivers on the road. *tr
Driver's side sun visor cracked along seam and falls down into vision of driver. can't be restored and you can only get it out of the way by pushing it to the side. it does not remain anchored there and when you turn it moves. *tr
Drivers side visor split open falling into face of driver. *tr
Cpsc# i1160082a 2007 honda civic ex coupe driver's side sunvisor broke off. *ln
2007 honda civic ex coupe. consumer states driver's side sun visor broke *tgw
Driving on the highway, suddenly heard a loud popping noise. opened up sunroof cover to discover that my sunroof had completely shattered. nothing hit the glass; it is bowed outwards as if it had become too large for the frame. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda civic hybrid. the contact stated that the front driver side window would not close properly. the window would derail and bounce back down while attempting to close. the contact stated that the window had to be closed manually. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the glass and rail would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 42,000. updated 06/01/11*lj updated 1/24/2012 *ln *tr
Sun visor in 2007 honda civic splits at seam and falls in to line of sight. the visor can no longer be locked in place, it continuously falls in to the line of sight. *tr
Sun visor has split into and i have no clue why and my third gear is always hard to get into and the rubber seals on the driver door always comes off in the heat of the summer. *tr
Driver side sun visor falls down into the line of vision on our 2007 honda civic lx sedan. it appears the visor has become warped and will not stay seated and often falls down into your line of sight out of the front windshield. only recourse is to swing it over towards the door but this is a safety issue and could cause a serious accident as your vision is blocked until the sun visor can be re-located. *tr
I own a 2007 honda civic si which has faulty sun visors. the visors appear to be made of two separate pieces which separate apart in the heat. due to this separation, they do not "grip" the little arm which is connected to the ceiling; therefore, the visors cannot be pushed up to the ceiling. no-matter-what the visors drops down and returns to the position it would be to be used (for example, if the sun is in your eyes).. however it is a distraction and a complete nuisance to any driver. i am petite and it obstructs my view; however, if anyone else who is taller than me attempts to drive my vehicle they cannot see straight in front of them because the visor will not stay in place against the ceiling.. obviously this is a major safety hazard. moreover, the passenger visor separated last week and has the same faulty issue as the driver's side. *tr
The sun visor in my 2007 two door honda has broken and will not stay in place. it gets in the way of my vision and distracts me when trying to drive. the design flaw of the visors in this car is major. it will not stay up and falls down in front of my face. a few times it has caused such a distraction i almost ran off the road trying to keep it out of my face. this occurs every day and i have to move it to the side which bothers me. nothing has been done to correct this failure. i am not paying $100 for a replacement which will only end up failing anyways. honda needs to own up and make a recall so that this design flaw does not cause crashes or any deaths due to the major distraction it creates to the drivers. *tr
The driver side visor fell on my lap and honda replaced it because it was still on warranty.. but now the passenger visor is hanging down but honda wont replace because its out of warranty. the front brakes does wear out around 12k miles after replacing it with the dealer for the 3rd time (honda dont want to admit that they use poor quality pads so you'll keep coming back to them for replacement, they say its the way you drive but i did point out to them that if i drive like a maniac i would have also need to replace my tires which lasted me more than 50k miles) i decided go get an aftermarket ceramic pads and had it installed from pepboys. its been more than 30k miles and brakes are still fine. the wiper blade on driver side does become sticky on the windshield which leaves unpleasant streak on my windshield.. even after getting a new wiper it still have the same problem.. i solve this problem by replacing my driver wiper with a shorter one(original is 26" now i have 24"). *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that while driving the sun visor broke, which made it difficult to see during the day and in inclement weather. the manufacturer stated that the warranty expired and the failure should be diagnosed by the dealer. the contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. the failure mileage was 26,000.
The sun visors on the 2007 honda civic lx are defective. once the hinge breaks, the visor will no longer stay up and it hangs straight down blocking more than one third of the windshield visibility. because my vision is dangerously obstructed i often have to move the visor so that it is against the driver-side window. with the visor in this position, nearly half of the side window visibility is obstructed causing yet a different but equally dangerous hazard. furthermore, when my visor is against the driver-side window and i have to turn, the visor often hits me in the head. in order to prevent being hit in the head i have to hold the visor in place while turning. your defect is not only a cosmetic nuisance it is also very dangerous. as outlined below you can see that i have had to replace my visors an unreasonably excessive number of times. part date mileage driver visor07/19/073,179 driver visor06/14/0814,071 passenger visor08/30/0816,519 driver visor09/16/0817,135 driver visor11/06/1039,479 passenger visor11/06/1039,479 i will gladly produce supporting documentation upon request. *tr

Windshield wipers fail to turn off or when they do turn off fail to park in a lowered position. vehicle was 500 miles out of warranty. apparently this is a known problem with manufacturer who has issued a tsr on this. dealer filed appeal with district service manager who authorized a replacement of the wiper motor for a courtesy charge of $50 to owner. *tr
A sun visor failed, again. this is the 3rd time. first was the driver's side, second and third, passenger's side. the melting of the visor insides, due to high ambient temperature, is now a known defect to many owners and the dealerships. driving with the sun visor stuck in the down position can be very dangerous when a taller driver is present. also, the issue is not easily mended unless the visor is taken in to be replaced. which was free the first two times, but now costs around $100. *tr
I purchased my 2007 honda civic new in december 2006. since that time my driver's side overhead visor has broken and failed twice! once in june 2009 and again october 2010. this is unsafe for normal driving because the visor will not remain out of my field of vision when i drive. there is no way to adequately secure the visor out of the field of sight without totally replacing the part. the first time it was repaired by honda for free because it was covered by warranty. now my vehicle is out of warranty and the dealer wants to charge me nearly $100 to repair the visor. this happened under normal driving conditions and during normal use of the vehicle. i have never had a problem of this type with any other vehicle before! this is an obvious quality control manufacturing defect that continues to recur and honda should take responsibility for the repair and replacement of the defective article on behalf of the consumer/customer. i believe this problem warrants investigation and follow up before a serious accident happens due to someone not effecting the repair in a reasonable amount of time due to the prohibitive cost placed on the shoulders of the consumer. *tr
The sun visors (both drivers and passenger ) split at the top seams where they are glued together, making it impossible for visors to stay up; thus obscuring the vision of both the driver and passenger. this is the second time the passenger sun visor has been replaced for the same defect which is a manufacturing, design, and engineering defect. i was advised by several honda employees that numerous sun visors are replaced on a weekly basis for the identical defect, just at one dealership. this is not a dealership issue but a honda issue. it is to be noted that the sun visors were in no way abused or even used that much but the seams just split. i have been in law enforcement for over thirty years and can assure you that this defect not only affects the individuals in the honda with the defective sun visors but other drivers and pedestrians as well, resulting from the obscured vision, i was advised that honda is aware of the defect but continues to use the same sun visors in new vehicles and that they continue to fail by splitting at the seams there was no resulting accident, i was advised that the sun visors would have to be returned to honda but i did photograph them and the photos are available. it is to be noted that the service department at the dealership was excellent and that honda did replace them at a reduced cost even though the vehicle had approximately 51,000 miles on it and was out of warranty. *tr
The driver side sun visor on my 2007 honda civic is defective. the plastic pieces that attach it to the mounting has melted due to the heat inside of the car and causes the visor to not be able to be put back into the upright position. before it totally broke, it would fall down into my line of vision while driving, since it was not able to be folded back up properly due to the damaged parts. it now hangs partially in my line of vision since it no longer can be folded up properly. i have read countless similar complaints of this happening on other honda civics and it's a shame that honda doesn't consider this a "safety hazard"! *tr
2007 honda civic drivers side sun visor cracked/popped apart causing an inability to push it up all the way, obscured view while driving; car is only 3 years old with ~29,000 miles on it; found it this way after it had been parked at the airport for 2.5 days; called honda america and was given a case number and then told i had 5 days to go to a honda dealer to "diagnose" the problem and a case manager would call me but there was no guarantee they would do anything about this....there are many complaints about this online and it's a safety hazard and there should be a recall. *tr
I have a 2007 honda civic coupe and both the passenger and driver sun visors have become loose and hang down in the way constantly. the driver side visor has now detached and is of no use for blocking sunlight. there have been many times that my vision as a driver has been compromised due to the lack of protection from the sun visor. i feel extremely unsafe driving in direct sunlight, even with the protection of sunglasses. the passenger side visor seems as though it will eventually detach as well. the failure has not been corrected, as it happened just after my car wasn't under warranty anymore. the replacement of these visors will cost $75 each and my honda dealership doesn't guarantee that the new visors won't have the same problems that the old ones had. i have done research and many other civic owners are having the same issue with the visors. it is imperative that honda corrects this problem and has a recall for the sun visors, otherwise as a consumer concerned about my safety, i will not want to purchase another honda. *tr
3 months after buying vehicle noticed ac running warm. first told by honda carland cartersville that nothing was wrong. took it back to honda carland roswell that freon was low and coolant but no leak. have had continuous problems with ac running hot. yesterday went to grocery store and when i walked backed to car noticed something leaking underneath. tried to get it to car repair place but car immediately ran hot. towed it and they called saying that the engine block has a crack. noticing multiple complaints for 06-07 honda civic engine block cracks with initial problems showing in ac and coolant. *tr
I have a 2007 honda civic, and the driver's side sun visor hinge is defective. it broke, and the visor is no longer adjustable -- it just hangs straight down. judging from the number of complains being registered elsewhere online, this is a very common problem. it is also a safety concern, as i am now blinded by the sun or have the visor blocking my field of vision. i will contact honda to request a free replacement, but as my car is out of warranty, i will probably have to buy a new one. *tr
Out of the blue my driver's side visor cracked and i am unable to keep it in the "up" position. it continues to fall down in my field of vision and it is very distracting while i drive. *tr
Sun visors crack and break so that they are no longer secure and hang down obstructing the driver's vision. my driver side visor broke approximately 1 year ago and was replaced under warranty (with the same defectively designed visor). it has now broken again (out of warranty). *tr
2007 honda civic ex 4 door (120,000 miles), drivers side sun visor split open at the seam and now hangs down and blocks forward and side line of sight. i believe this to be a safety issue. called american honda and they will not replace or warranty the defective part. *tr
2007 honda civic ex 4 door - failure of passenger side sun visor causing impairment to visibility through windshield. possible impending failure of driver side sun visor with resulting inability to safely control moving vehicle. ref: http://www.usrecallnews.com/2007/09/major-honda-civic-recall-of-2006-and-2007-models.html. *tr
The driver's side sun visor on my 2007 honda civic ex melted on the inside and now will not remain in the up position, making it very difficult to see. *tr
The visor on my 2007 honda civic broke and is now hanging down in my line of sight. this is extremely dangerous. i've done some research and found forums where many people are having the same issue. there should really be a recall because this issue can cause major accidents! *tr
Driver side factory installed (original equipment) visor of 2007 honda civic ex split apart and no longer remains in the fixed upright (flush with ceiling) position, but rather hangs down in views way. this issue occured spontaneously and without force or misuse of feature. this failure is permanent. item will have to be replaced. research easily found many similar experiences from other honda civic owners for this same defect. honda is not claiming responsibility and not correcting the defect without charge. this is indeed a safety hazard. *tr
Sun visor on 2007 honda civic fails again in the heat. have purchased replacement visor just to have them fail again in a few months. when they fail at the hinges, it causes the visor to hang down in the line of site, if you remove it, then you don't have any protect from the sun shining in your eyes. honda is very aware of this as there are 1,000's of posting and the dealers all acknowledge that it is an issue. honda needs to come up with a recall and a visor design that works verses just doing nothing...it is a huge safety issue!! *tr
