Driving along highway speed and the car brakes abruptly and the accelerator pedal was unresponsive. if this would have happened at rush hour, this would have caused a pile-up. if this would have happened in front of a semi, i might be dead. i moved across two lanes of traffic with no throttle control. the car regained throttle response after about 45 seconds.

Over 12 different times in the past 6 months since i purchased the car it has had serious electrical issues ranging from locking itself with the keyless fob inside the vehicle during a snow storm, all windows including moon roof rolling completely down during a rainstorm when parked or in motion. when parked, the alarm blaring non stop for hours and the battery dying completely without warning or drainage on my part of any kind. all systems on the car shut down completely after loss of power including the braking system and you can dive it that way. it brakes hard on its own on the freeway. there is a usb port in the center console right next to cup holder that can get wet if you have a drink in there. i notice the weather conditions were cloudy, raining, or snowing during the majority of the bigger issues.
My car was broken into while parked in a public parking lot. the 2020 civic has a feature where all windows roll down if you put the key into the driver's door lock and turn it to the right. according to honda of oakland service center, someone used a screwdriver to activate this feature, which in turn rolled the windows down and they were able to access the trunk latch near the driver's seat and steal items from my trunk. they were then able to roll the windows back up using the same feature (turning to the left) and i was not aware that there was a break in until late the next day when i went to retrieve items from the trunk. a related feature is that the key fob allows you to roll down all windows simultaneously by holding down the unlock button. this feature is very sensitive and can be activated in a pocket or purse. i tested out the range of the feature and was able to roll my windows down remotely from over 200 feet away while inside a building when my car was parked outside across the street. i twice ...

I've had my car for less than a year and on three separate occasions it has failed to start. the first time it happened, i did a google search and saw that this was a common problem with the car. i found a youtube video that gave instructions on a possible remedy -- which included going under the hood of the car and finagling with the battery, etc. my husband tried this remedy and once my car started, i immediately took it to the dealership. at the dealership i was told that my battery was dead; they replaced the battery. months later, with my new battery, this happened again. my husband tried the remedy again but when i took it to the dealership i told him that they should look further into this issue because it is not just the battery. to me, it was some kind of electrical glitch. the dealership informed me that because they could not replicate the problem of the 'no-start', there was nothing they could do. at 6 months pregnant i told them that i was being left in a vulnerable position with a very unreliable vehicle. i told them that a google search would ...
