I complained about this car the day i bought it. i told them it was a lemon and i wanted my money back. the dealer refused. from the day i bought the car (one year ago) it is has been in the shop for a total of over 8 weeks. it has had replacement transmission, catalytic converters, gaskets, pumps, hoses, filters and it still does not run. it doesn't start properly, if it starts at all. it stalls in reverse and initital shift into drive does not run smooth. the wiper fluid does not come out. the car rattles and sounds awful . the car is under manufacturer warranty and they won't fix it. the car is a lemon there is something fundamentally wrong with it and it can't be fixed. ford knows this and they won't take it back.

At approximately 47,600 miles the bearing to the transmission fluid pump failed causing the shaft to gyrate, destroying the torque converter. discussing the failure with the mechanic that repaird the transmission it was theorized that the design of lubrication to the bearing was flawed. even though i had the car for 1.5 years and put 47 thousand plus miles on the car, a catastrophic failure such as this should not have happened.

We have had this vehicle for less than 2 months--it has been in the shop for all this time except about 2.5 weeks. the rear brakes are grinding and it sounds like metal on metal. the vehicle jerks very bad when going from park to drive which i feel could cause an accident. the car has less than 15000 miles on it and i don't feel like these problems should be occuring at this time. our car has been in the shop 4 times in less than 2 months. *ak
At 20,000 miles the transmission was rebuilt because of shifting problems. at 70,000 same problem again. ford said this problem was rare so did not cover. my easy care policy ($1500) would not cover because i didn't have transmission serviced at 50,000 miles. i argued that transmission fluid changing would not have prevented this problem as it was an ongoing problem with ford taurus transmissions.still driving at 93000 miles. slipping , shifting erratic and shifting hard.
Transmission went from drive into 1st gear without warning and locked
Transmission sensors were replaced but the transmission still slips and car will rev to high rpms, while applying the break the steeing wheel shakes, and when you let off the accelarator, the car does not slow down. *ak
While driving at lower speeds, vehicle will shift to a highr gear and give itself gas with no driver input. transmission snaps at low speed shifts, it pops and bangs. wipers activate for no reason intermittently. *slc
