Recently reported VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL problems on 2011 Ford Fusion

My 2011 ford fusion, which i purchased only a few months ago... lost speed while driving home from work today. i'm still shaky and upset. i was a very busy 2lane up/2lane down avenue when my vehicle lost speed! i was in the inner lane and had to decide if i wanted the delivery truck to hit me from behind or risk side swiping someone in hope of getting off the road before i slowed completed. through the grace of god i was able to make two hard rights before my fusion began to stop, shake, and sputter. the first hard right was into the right lane in front of another car then onto the side street. my goodness never been so scared in life except the next two time it did while still trying to make it home. this time though, i knew to stay in the left lane. i also relied on the fact that once you get to a safe place and turn the engine off and on again it starts back up!!! i'm scared of my car! and scared for my life and others that this vehicle malfunction may affect during my commutes. i'm going on the record as saying if i die in my 2011 ford fusion during an accident single/multi vehicle please do a forensic check on the throttle! *tr

My car shut off while at a red light when trying to give it gas. restarted after a few tries. had the battery and alternator checked and both were fine. it continued to give issues and finally would shut off while going between 1-10 mph. took it to ford to have a test ran on it, and they showed it was a faulty throttle body and would need to be repaired. we purchased the part and paid for a repair for this even though 725,000 other vehicles in the same make have been having these issues. it is quite frustrating. *tr

The engine shook violently. the wrench light and check engine light suddenly appeared. the speed of the car went from 45 mph to 0 in an instant. then the entire car powered off. i managed to pull over to the shoulder as this happened and not being able to accelerate at all. i turned the car on again with keys in ignition. started to drive and the same series of events happened again and my car completely powered off. i got my car towed to ford malcolm cunningham on 8/26/13. they confirmed it was the throttle body that caused the issues. i purchased extended warranty on my car which only covered the actual part and not the labor to replace the throttle body. the dealership service rep, [xxx], said that they recommended i also flush the engine because they have seen this is related to the throttle body issue. she also said the throttle body issue is a common problem with fusions and escapes, as she had another person in there for the same issue on an escape. ford needs to realize this is extremely unsafe and issue a recall asap! i cannot believe my car is practically new and i'm out of pocket $400, while ford doesn't take any responsibility. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).*tr

This is a known issue with 2011 and other model ford fusions and other model ford cars. according to the media, on oct 2nd 2012 nhtsa created a defect petition to open an investigation on escape and fusion vehicles. i was traveling on over the chesapeake bay bridge on i50 in morning traffic ata ~ 60 mph when all of a sudden my fusion lost complete power. this caused a hazardous situation. i then had to 'limp' over a mile up the to the top of the bridge at less than 5 mph until i could put the vehicle in neutral and coast down the other side. myself and numerous other vehicles were subjected to a hazardous condition when this occurred. later troubleshooting revealed my problem was the well known 'fusion throttle body issue' currently under investigation. local ford dealer al packard in white marsh md service dept confirmed the issue as the '2111' fault and problem. after reading all of the details on this problem on the internet, i discussed the matter at length with local and national ford customer service people. although this is a well known issue, ford has no customer warranty program in place for this dangerous problem, nor is it covered until their power train warranty. there needs to be a recall warranty program and have this problem fixed before more people get hurt. in my case i witnessed numerous unsafe conditions while i was limping up the bridge for 20 minutes. the situation could have caused a terrible accident on the chesapeake bay bridge. i work as a flight safety product support manager for a major aircraft engine manufacturer. any loss of thrust control issue is handled as a safety issue and recall programs are put in place. the same needs to occur here. my brother who also owns a 2010 fusion had a similar issue where he has lost complete power while traveling ~65 mph in interstate traffic. *tr

I was driving normal speed of about 35 mph. all of a sudden, the car stopped. the engine was running, but the throttle would not respond. i pressed down on the gas pedal, but no response. the car started to slow down and eventually stopped. i pressed the gas pedal, but no response. the wrench light came on. i turned the engine off. i restarted the car. it started funny, but started. the wrench light came off but the engine light came on. i drove for about a mile and it happened again. the car started to "buck" and then stopped...no throttle response. i turned off the car, waited for a while, and then restarted the car. it started funny, but started. i drove it to the dealer. turned off the car and restarted. it started funny, but started. the engine light came on. no throttle response when i pressed the gas pedal. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle was hesitant to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. the technician stated the throttle would have to be replaced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 76,500. *jb

On thursday 8/22/13, i was driving about 55 mph on the highway and i experienced what seemed like an engine stall. my 2011 fusion would not accelerate so i pulled off the side and my car started shaking so i turned it off. i waited a bit and started it back up and kept driving. i could still feel a lag when i stepped on the gas. i had a mechanic look at the car but he could not find any issues. on saturday 8/24/13, the same issue happened to me 3 times within a 4 hour span. i poured in some seafoam to rule out any moisture that may be in the engine. i did some research online and discovered others have had similar issues that have all been linked to a faulty throttle body. on sunday 8/25/13, the issue happened twice during the day. today i finally took my car to the ford dealership and told them what i was experiencing and told them that i think it is the throttle body. the guy told me that they would not know until the computer displayed the error code. several hours later i received a call from the dealership telling me it is a faulty throttle body and the repair would cost $650. if this is a known issue, why hasn't a recall been issued? *tr

When turning left, lost throttle control. auto stayed powered but attempts to apply acceleration via the gas pedal were unsuccessful. coasted to a stop, put in park and restarted vehicle ok. the 'wrench' signal came on when the issue occurred but went off upon restart. *tr

Ok so i was on my lunch break, entering a well known busy intersection, when i tried to cross over into the median. my car all of a sudden w/no warning sign failed to accelerate further, this almost caused me to get hit by a 16 wheeler truck. now my car didn't cut off which was surprising, it only stalled and when pressing on the gas pedal i was unable to move. i eventual turned the car off and once cranked up the car hesitated b/4 finally cranking up and allowing me to move on. this issue happened 6x on tues 8/20/2013 before my car eventually just wouldn't let me move at all.. took the car up top auto-zone and was adv. and still have the print out of the issue which was the throttle stuck open/stuck closed.. took the car to ford who fixed the issue for $520+, and advised me that the issue was related to the throttle. i asked if there was a recall, ford company told me no, that there is no recall as of yet, however the part was out of stock nationwide.. and after completing my resaearch i have noticed that i am not the only person experiencing this issue.. this issue has been really irritating for me especially since i travel over 45 miles to work everyday. however the isue is resolved now b/c i paid $520+ to get my car fixed, however w/ no warning signs and almost getting hit and possibly fired b/c my transportation issues.. i am just glad the problem for now is fixed. however would love reinbursement especially if this is recalled.. thanks for your time lavon harper. *tr

Throttle body stopped working while i was traveling down the freeway. service light came on and i had no power to continue on. had to get over three lanes while car slowed down. stopped off at side of road and car idled very rough. turned car off waited a minute and restarted and it ran fine for awhile unit happened again. *tr

Car quit running in drive. decelerated to a stop. restarted and parked in a lot. i had just come from the dealer for warranty work and an oil change. i was on my way home when this happened. i walked back to the dealer and reported this. they had to get a tow truck and tow it back to he dealership. they told me it was a bad throttle body. as of wednesday at 4pm, the vehicle is still there waiting for a throttle body part. my invoice stated "c/s vehicle's idle sometimes goes high by itself". the technician [xxx], stated on the invoice, 'no codes present, cannot duplicate'. the dealership is countryside ford, 24825 us19n, clearwater, fl 33763 727-797-2277. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I was driving on i-5 on my way home from running errands with the family. i was driving between 70-75 mph , in the fast lane, when the car jerked and the wrench light came on. my car lost acceleration. i was losing speed fast. my husband kept me calm and helped me get the car to the side of the freeway. when we were safely on the side of the freeway the engine was still on but running rough. i turned the car off. i called for a tow truck. i had my father come and pick my son and i up and my husband waited with the car. we had the car towed to harrold ford. the part was on back order and i was without my car for 10 days. thank goodness my car is still under warranty and a rental car was included. this is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my 25 years of driving. i am so thankful that my husband was with me to keep me calm and help me get our family safely off the freeway. i am so nervous driving my car now, i just pray that nothing like this happens again. *jb

Driving at highway speeds, very hard jerking. luckily the highway was clear or someone could have died! wrench and check engine light went on and car went into limp mode. went home and ran the code and it told me it was the throttle body stuck. i used google to review my options and 1000's of people have had this problem!!!! how is this not a recalled part yet!?!? i cannot wait so i ordered the throttle body, and it is backordered at the dealer! how is this not a clue that they need to fix this asap? someone is going to die, i read their have already been major accidents with this issue. *tr

I was in my 2011 ford fusion. i stopped at a red light. when it turned green i gave it gas and the car started to shake violently, the wrench light came on the dash and would not go more than 2 mph. a truck almost rear-ended me in a 50 mph zone. i was really shaken up and thought that was the closest i had come to death or serious injury in my life. we took the car to ford and they told us that it was a bad throttle body and that it would be around $500 to replace. they said the part was on back order but could do a rush shipment and have it within 10 days. our ford has always been serviced at the dealership but we decided to call our mechanic (non ford) in town to see if he could get the part quicker or cheaper. he called another ford dealership and was told that the throttle body is a huge problem and they had been back ordered for over 6 months but more were expected in by october 2013. we checked online and found that there has been problems with the ford throttle body for years, and ford refuses to do anything about it. i would think ford would stand behind their products instead of worrying about profits when their customer's lives are in danger from an inferior part. to top it off we have also been hearing a popping sound in the front end. when we took it into ford for the throttle body problem they also said that the bushings in the front end for the tie rods and a arms were bad and that they needed to be replaced. when i called ford they said there was nothing they could do since there were not any recalls on the vehicle. i can't understand when you type in ford throttle body in any search engine, it comes up with thousands of people that are having problems with the ford throttle body. now i truly know the meaning of ford, found on road dead. either the ford vehicle itself or the occupants of the car. shame on ford for not fixing these safety issues. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently and failed to accelerate. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the throttle body assembly would need to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure and current mileage was 70,000.

I own a 2011 ford fusion. on 8/16/2013, on city streets, traveling less than 20 mph, the car engine cut off, the wrench light came on. i was able to steer, but all of my dash indicator lights were functioning as well as a/c and radio. however, there was no response from the accelerator. at less than 5 mph, she began to shudder/balk like i was just learning to drive a stick shift. on 9/2/2013, the same thing happened at two separate times, except during the first i was driving on a toll road at 55 mph. the second incident i was again traveling at 55 mph on an access ramp that leads onto the interstate. in all 3 incidents, the wrench light came on and i did have control of the steering wheel and was able to safely get my vehicle out of the main thoroughfare. i then shut off a/c, radio and ignition; waited a short time and restarted the car. each time she hesitated ever so slightly before starting and i was then able to drive on to my destination. *jb

Leaving from rockville md to connecticut 0800 hrs 15 aug 2013. traveling in the left lane on highway i95 at about 67 miles per hour and the car just lost all power. i was able to coast to the left shoulder and just kept idling at about 2 or 3 miles per hour. i turned the engine off, and then back on and the gas pedal became active again. i was able to get back on the three lane highway and work myself over to the right lane. was able to go about 5 miles and the car went dead again. i pulled off on the shoulder, turned the car off and back on and was able to continue again. in another few miles it died one more time. i pulled over turned it off and back on. i continued to the next exit and decided to cancel our trip and go back to rockville. unloaded at home and took the car to lindsay ford. they replaced the throttle assembly (under warranty). we cancelled our vacation to connwecticut. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. the test results showed that there was a defective throttle body. the dealer replaced the throttle. the contact did not call the manufacturer. the failure mileage was 48,000.

The first incident i was driving back from the airport and the engine stayed on but the throttle would not respond. i found a way in heavy traffic moving very quickly to get to a shoulder. then i turned the car off and then back on and the car responded fine. 5 days later (today) the exact same thing happened and again on a very busy freeway (us59 near downtown houston) at lunch time. again i managed to get off the road without causing an accident and turned the car off then restarted it and it worked fine. it happened a third time while in a neighborhood traveling at 20 mph. i am astonished that there are nearly 3/4 of a million vehicles with this issue or potential issue and the impressive number of reports of the exact same scenario happening all over the country and ford has not issued a recall. *tr

***throttle body failure**** i was driving in the freeway and all of a sudden i lost the ability to accelerate in speed. the car just started to slow down which almost caused us to get into a car accident, luckily i managed to steer over to the emergency lane. we took the car the nearest dealership and they found out that is was related to a throttle body failure and needed to be replaced. they mentioned that it is common occurrence with ford fusion 2011, so much that the part was on back order! they are charging us about 700$ to replace the part and we have to wait for it to show up. very dangerous for anyone to experience this situation especially if this happens so frequently. i would recommend that all owners should be notified of this risk in order to avoid any possible fatalities. *tr

When i am on the highway and i go to accelerate it seems as if the throttle is sticking and then causes the car to jerk after i take my foot of the gas pedal. *tr

I left from my home in the early afternoon. the car had not been used since the previous evening. about 2 miles from my house i got onto a state route and started to go up a slight hill. i had accelerated up to approximately 45 mph and the engine started running really rough, then stalled. the check engine light lit up. it seemed to go down to idle with no response from engine while pushing the pedal. i glided to the side of the road and crested the hill, then let the engine sputter at around idle as i was able to put it in neutral and let gravity take me to the bottom of the hill where i could glide around the corner into a safe parking lot. i shut the car down, waited a minute and it started back up as though nothing had happened. the check engine light was clear. i have not tried to check to see if it stored any codes yet. i had experienced 2 previous events in the previous 2 weeks with this car. the car has been serviced regularly. *tr

While driving down a country road, the vehicle's engine suddenly started shaking violently and would not accelerate above 3 miles per hour. we had to push the car home and have it towed to the dealership. the problem is the throttle body. ford motor co. is aware that there is a design flaw with the throttle body in this make/model. ford has re-designed this part but has not issues a recall. the car has been in the shop for over a week waiting for a new throttle body because there is a shortage due to a large number of vehicles experiencing the same problem. ford needs to issue a recall to avoid what could have been a fatal accident. if this problem had occurred while pulling out into traffic, or on a major highway the end result could have easily have been a fatal accident. ford needs to recall this part now! *tr

On 8/7/13 i was driving my car to work in my apartment complex (approx. 5 mph) my car stopped responding to the gas pedal and started "shaking" erratically. a small tool/wrench light appeared on my dash. i pulled over and turned the car off. restarted several minutes later and was able to drive with no problems until on the way home. i didn't drive it again until 8/9/13 to the mechanic. it started and drove fine, until 15 minutes after being on the interstate (which i had to get on to get to the mechanic) the car stopped responding to the gas pedal and seems to stay at the same speed for about a minute (approx. 60 mph). finally the car started to slow down and started shaking ( like it was out of gas but i still 1/2 tank). i had to pull over immediately on the very busy interstate because the car was shaking and didn't seem to respond to the gas pedal. i let the car sit for several minutes and tried to start driving on the shoulder but the car started shaking again. i decided to try one more time before calling a tow truck because it was a very dangerous situation (and i had my 11 months old son in the car) trying to merge back on the freeway with a car that didn't want to accelerate and was shaking. i tried again and was able to successfully pull back onto the interstate. once i was able to get off, i took side streets and had to stop the car again (approx. 30-40 mph). mechanics said that fords aren't suppose to have this problem they were very surprised and told us to research the internet for recalls, that is how i found safercar.gov and the numerous complaints for the same situation. this problem is obviously an issue with the car itself and not in anyway the owners/operators fault. there should be a recall issued immediately since this issue happens suddenly with no warning that there is anything wrong with the car and could result in accidents/loss of life. *tr

I was driving at highway speed (70), when my cars accelerator stopped responding in the middle of a curve on a 2 lane rural highway with 2 foot shoulders. i was able to pull off into the grass, where i realize that my car was idling erratically. the accelerator would not respond, so i turned the key off and restarted the vehicle. it resumed normal operation, but has since happened multiple times. i regularly enter high volume, high speed intersections, where this could be extremely dangerous, if not fatal. ford says there is no recall, but i found no small number of similar complaints as i searched the internet. please force them to do a recall before someone gets killed. Traveling down the road at 60 mph my car began to feel sluggish, started surging, felt like the engine was going to shut down. i got pulled off the side of road and looked in manual after seeing the wrench icon has was on the instrument panel. i turned car off and back on again. i was hesitant to restart but did. the wrench icon went off and i went back home set an appointment for the following day with the ford dealership. my car has been there a week today. i was told the throttle body was defective and was on backorder. i am still waiting to get my car after one week. *tr

Driving 45mph on state road 45 in southern indiana, which is very curvy. let off gas, then when i went to accelerate, pedal went completely to the floor. car then started sputtering. no acceleration at all. finally got car off of state highway. car never completely died, just absolutely no acceleration, throttle body sensor bad! this is a safety issue! had i been going faster and vehicles behind me, there would have been a major accident. cost $580 to repair on a 2011 car! according to the ford technician that repaired my car, they have replaced several in the last 6 months! very disappointing for ford not to recall sure a important repair! *tr

On saturday, i was driving out from a complex making a left turn into traffic when my vehicle abruptly slammed stopped at a green light. i put on my hazards and noticed a wrench signal popped on. i put the car in park and turned the vehicle off, then started it back. the vehicle turned on again. i was lucky i was not rear-ended. i drove home and decided not to drive the car until i took it to nearest dealer. monday morning, i got into vehicle headed to the dealer and again driving out of my complex, the code popped on, vehicle sputtered and stopped. i turned it off then on again. it started and i headed to the dealer close by with hazards on. my vehicle was diagnosed needing throttle body totaling $585.00. mind you my vehicle is two years old. *tr

Vehicle lost engine power and would not accelerate. vehicle was maneuvered to the road side where it was shut off for 1 minute. upon restart, vehicle drove and accelerated normally. after driving for 5 minutes, vehicle again lost engine power and would not accelerate. vehicle was again maneuvered to the road side and shut off for 1 minute. upon restart, vehicle drove and accelerated normally. condition was experienced three times the same day. ecu stored code for throttle control system. *tr

Drove a mile from our home to pick up pizza. went into the shop for about 5 minutes, came out and started the car. backed out of the space and pulled across a divided road to head home and the car sputtered and lost power so that i had to pull over to the side. the check engine light was lit. i shut down the car and it started right up and the check engine light was clear. it repeated this issue again about 1 week later on the highway for my wife though recovered. then again for me while accelerating up a state route but did not recover. *tr

Vehicle stalled without warning in heavy traffic. pulled off, restarted. resumed normal operation. stalled again. restarted again. began stalling at lights. had to trim gas pedal while stopped to keep running. car stalls on acceleration b/w 2nd and 3rd gear (6 speed manual). when car stalls while underway, major shudder occurs. has gone into limp mode but after restart will be normal operationally for a short time and then without warning cut out. extremely dangerous situation, in particular when accelerating from a stop or into traffic or if successful doing that, stalling without warning at speed and with cars/trucks bearing down on you. at one of the above stalls, had tractor trailer bearing down on me without an ability to remove the car from road in that particular area. throttle body codes p2111 and p2112 indicating bad throttle body. very common occurrence apparently among the 2010 through 2012 ford fusions. requesting a recall and reimbursement for throttle body which i have replaced. *tr

Car stalls while driving down the road, pull over and it starts back up. it has done this 3 times in the last week. will be taking it to the ford dealer monday. did online searches and found this is a common problem with ford fusion and it points to the throttle body or electronic module that controls the throttle body. this should be recalled by ford - very scary and dangerous for the driver of the vehicle. *tr

Tl* the contact owns 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact mentioned that the wrench and the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was towed to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the electronic throttle body needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure and current mileage was 60,000.

My 2011 ford fusion has repeatedly experienced the same stalling and random shut-downs that i know understand many other drivers have experienced. usually upon accelerating, my vehicle will buck abruptly and then shudder and rapidly reduce speed until i am able to shut it off. the indicator light for the transmission turns on and occasionally the check engine light. most of the time, the vehicle will turn right back on and be able to drive as normal, but sometimes it will repeat the same bucking process very shortly after i resume driving. i took it to an auto zone and the engine check they ran returned with an error message saying "throttle body system stuck open" and that is was being held open at an angle larger than needed. thankfully, this hasn't happened while on the highway or in any place that i could not pull over safely, but it continues to happen with other drivers around, nonetheless. this is an incredibly dangerous and frustrating issue and one that i am shocked and appalled to find happens to so many other drivers. ford needs to do something to make this right for the great many of us who have been put in harms way by this faulty system. *tr

7/30/13- vehicle would not go above an idol, car sputtered and stalled while sitting at a stop light (this happened 3-4 times same day); while slowing to round a curve, pressed accelerator to pick up speed and car stalled out (2 times); there were no symbols on the dash this day. 8/5/13-started car in am, car sputtered badly, put car in drive & car sputtered part way up street, did not seem to be getting gas when accelerator was pressed, "wrench" light appeared on dash; turned car off, waited a few minutes, started car again and it ran okay & no warning lights. i purchased this vehicle "used" on 4/4/13 from blue knob auto, altoona, pa *tr

After accelerating to 30 my car lost the ability to use the foot pedal. the engine continued running but was unable to accelerate. i pulled off the side of the road, shut the car off waited a few minutes and then started the car. it worked fine until august 15th when the same thing happened 4 times. once with in 30 minutes at a speed us 40 to 55. the 3rd and 4th times occurred within minutes of each other at 55 mph in a construction zone. on all occasions the wrench light came on. on august 17th i took my car to the dealership and they informed me the throttle body assembly was bad and needed replaced. that cost me $500 out of pocket since my car is out of warranty. *tr

As we were driving down a 3 lane freeway, the car just all of a sudden lost all response in the gas pedal and the wrench light on the dashboard came on. luckily we were able to get to the side of the road and no one was behind us when the car became unresponsive. we restarted the car and everything seemed fine, but as we were almost home, it did the same thing again. after this time, we called the ford roadside assistance to have it towed to the nearest dealership. the problem was reported to us as the throttle body and motor assembly. *tr

I was driving to work at highway speeds when i lost acceleration and had to pull over, the car went into limp mode. i shut the car off and turned it back on. i got another couple miles when it did it again. i tried to drive it again and it made it to work fine. on the way home from work, i made it about a mile when it did it again, i turned it off and then turned it back on, the car acted normal and i made it another mile before it went into limp mode and the check engine light came on. i got my car towed to the shop and found out that my electronic throttle had gone bad. i found that many other cars from ford have had this issue as well. my car is only two years old and shouldn't have this issue already! i could have gotten into a very serious accident since i was on the highway. *tr

Was running along at 65 mph and car jerked and lost power and the wrench icon come on the dash. pulled to side of road car was idling but rough. attempted to push throttle pedal down to increase engine speed but no response just idle. shut car off and called a tow truck. tried three ford dealers was approx. one week to get in. i was 750 miles from home.tow truck dropped car off a repair shop. manager said he had seen a car not long ago that they had disconnected the battery and all was fine. the service man went out to car and it started right up without little wrench icon being on. drove w/o any incident. *tr

Auto suddenly slowed down, became jerky, and had minimum response gsa pedal pressure. i pulled over, shut off the engine, restarted the engine and was able to continues driving. ford dealer performed ids test, no codes, ran pinpoint tests by symptom. test etb. failed. replaced electronic throttle body, cleared kam and road test. total cost $433. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fusion. the contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the throttle body needed to be replaced. the vehicle was being repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. the failure mileage was 92,000. the vin was unavailable.

Driving on highway 24/27 my car just shut off. no warning. then sputtered. i cruised over to shoulder. the tool light was (wrench) on. i cut off the car and then restarted the car. very scary. at first i was advised i had bad gas in the car, then i was advised i need a new fuel injection system. then after cutting off 6 times in the space of one exit to another, i refused to drive the car anymore. the mechanic stated i need a new throttle body and it was replaced. my car still hesitates and accelerates at times. *tr

Since january of 2012 when i drive my fusion the vehicle just would quit and the check engine and tool light would stay on only until i would put the vehicle in park and restart it. i would take it to the local ford dealership and that the tcs module was bad then it happened again then they changed out the battery. then two weeks ago it happened again and took it back in now ford said its throttle body is bad and the part and the labor would be around 400 dollars to fix. this is a safety issue someone could get hurt or even killed. i feel that this should be recalled. i am not the only person that has had this issue. on top of this i don't have a vehicle to drive for over a month and a half. I was driving 50 mph on a major road and the vehicle started shaking and cut off. restarted the vehicle drove less than a mile and the vehicle started shaking again and cut off. three days prior i had a check engine light took the vehicle to the ford dealership and they told me that i needed the sensor replaced that connected to the charcoal canister. i had the sensor replaced and know i have to have the throttle body replaced. i understand that the part is on back order but there should be some type of recall on the fusion. if a part is on back order this tells me that it is in demand and that is not a good thing when it come to something that affects the speed of your car. if there is a recall i would like to be reimbursed for the $277 i have to spend to get the throttle body replaced. *tr

While driving on a highway with a fair amount of traffic the gas pedal quit working then my car stalled out. this all happened very quickly. i was able to pull to side. i restarted the car merged back on highway and in 1/4 to 1/2 mile it did it again. once again i was able to restart it and merged back into traffic hoping to make it to the next exit, but it did it again in less then 1/4 mile. i restarted it and stayed on the side of highway. it went into limp mode and i was able to get to a gas station at next exit. the car had stalled out a month or so prior but restarted and no other issues until this reported event. also as we researched on line my car had the surges of power or lack thereof as mentioned on line. note: i am a person without much mechanical knowledge and this was an extremely unsettling event. i do a lot of highway driving in my work including rush hour. i am well aware that my life could have easily ended that day or been severely changed. please address this before someone's life is ended or severely changed!! *tr

Engine cut-off going at 5 mph. according to aamco code p2112 appeared on their reader. this code has to do with the throttle actuator control system. took car to local ford dealer and was told that the part, throttle body and motor asy., are on national back order. it took at two days or two weeks to receive the part. this is not acceptable; ford and their dealers should have this part available immediately. does someone need to have a serious or deadly accident before action is taken? *tr
