I received a recall notice a year ago, and i keep calling my dealer webb ford in highland indiana, and ford in dearborn michigan, still have not replaced my passenger takata air bag!! can not give me a date when it will be replaced. have asked ford to deflate the bag i feel i would be safer without it but they won't "due to safety issues''! i worry everyday i drive this car yet i only have 4,.000 miles on it. what can i do????? no one will help me [xxx] r.n.b.s. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*jb
Recall repair has been ignored by dealership and manufacturer to date. i responded to the safety recall letter 7/2016 and nothing more than - no parts- no target date for parts-no there is no one who knows or can do anything more. just have to wait. for what?? until there is an injury or death. the alarm has been sounded - then no remedy available. the access on the top of the front dash has pulled apart and now have been notified that the airbag may deploy at any time.
Takata recall waiting for a part for almost 2 year. if safety issue why the delay? ford tells me to purchase a new car. i cannot believe this should be the solution.
Received recall on airbags 6 months ago and as of 1/3/2017 has not been taken care of. ford dealership says they have not received the parts yet. also the brakes go soft when braking and have not received any recall about this problem. 2 very dangerous problems that need to be taken care of.
Airbag safety recall notice # 16s26 nhtsa recall 16v-384. received first letter informing of "possible" recall in july of 2016. in june of 2018 (two years later) i received another letter telling me to go to my dealer for them to order parts. i went to my local dealer in goshen, indiana and they took the information and said they would call when the repairs could be made. it is january 2019 and i have not heard one word. they say the parts are not available "yet". this is ridiculous. don't offer a recall if you are not prepared to fix the vehicles.
Takata recall - while we did receive a recall notice in july 2016, ford has still not made parts available to our dealer or contacted us regarding other ways to remedy this dangerous situation. several telephone calls to our local ford dealer as well as one directly to ford in june 2017 have gotten us nowhere.
Takata recall. we received this information in reference to air bag defect.. each time we drive our car because we never know when it could go defective with a passenger in the seat. we haven't heard anything in way of oral conversation. we just received the letter and that was it. we received the letter last year in july. please shed some light into this matter as to when we will be contacted in way of repair. nothing has happened to the car it's just frightening knowing that the air bag is defective.

Takata recall i just checked the status of this recall and ford says it is still waiting for parts. this is unacceptable. it's been 18 months since this recall went out. it needs resolved immediately! i have not had any accident with the car but it could happen any time and may affect my ability to sell or trade this car!

Takata recall i have received a safety recall which states that "the passenger frontal airbag inflator may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment." it, also, states that "a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death." i have received three letters to this effect, beginning july, 2016. in addition, the letter states "if your vehicle contains a defective or potentially defective airbag inflator and is under recall, contact your nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair." i contacted ford several times, and they say they do not have the parts to replace the airbags. today, i called ford again, and i was told the part is "currently being developed in conjunction with our suppliers. they are expecting parts the spring of 2018; however, no specific date has been determined. finally, i was denied a loaner vehicle until the parts come in. i have no transportation, as i am handicapped and cannot easily get into the back seat. also, the letter stated that metal fragments could strike vehicle occupants, so it would not matter where they were seated. i am looking for a loaner (free of charge) until replacement parts are put in, or i would like to have all of the airbags disengaged permanently, until the replacement parts come in.
Takata recall. we received a recall notice from ford motor company in july 2016 they still do not have the parts. the letter says the car is dangerous to a passenger. two year wait for a dangerous issue is terrible! no one will do anything about it.

None of the dealers in the area are able to have the parts. we've been trying since june 2016 when we first received the recall.

About the same time my recall notice was sent the leather on the dash lifted that was attached to the cap holding the air bag. i could not get it to slip back so now i have an opening on the dash in front of the air bag. i did take it to ford the said it was not going to open up all the way unless i had an accident. i am still waiting for a recall for the airbag to be fixed but i feel that this was not a coincident that the leather lifted. i am worried that the air bag will deploy and someone in the front driver side will be hurt. i know the car is an older model but i keep this car in perfect condition.

I am registering this complain because it has been over one year and no parts are or at least no parts are said to be available...this needs to be fixed . the car is parked because of the risk to our daughter and whomever else would be with her.....one year
Takata recall, i received a letter from ford in june of 2016 stating there was a recall on the takata airbags in my car. i've tried multiple times to schedule an ap't. with ford dealer's to have them replaced. i was told every time there were no airbags available. what should i do ?

We purchased our ford fusion 2008 through a private sale in may of 2016. the vehicle is listed as part of the takata passenger frontal airbag inflater recall since june 1 of 2016. we have not received a letter regarding the airbag recall. i found the information online after purchasing the vehicle and hearing reports of a massive recall in the news. around june 25, 2016 on a particularly hot and humid day, the airbag compartment expanded and created a bump in the dashboard. a gel leaked out of the airbag compartment, into the glove box and on the dashboard. not only do we have a defective inflator, but we also have an airbag that was somehow activated by heat and humidity. i highly suspect this airbag will not deploy correctly if the car is ever in an accident. i contacted three dealers (two in our area and the dealer that sold the car to it's first owner. the first two dealers said there's nothing they could do as the replacement airbags are not available. one dealer said they could replace the airbag if we pay over $600. they also assured me that the bulging dashboard and oozing gel had nothing to do with the recall, but i was welcome to work with takata after paying for the airbag to try to get a refund. ford motor company was also not helpful saying this is a production issue with takata, and takata doesn't have capacity to produce the needed airbags more quickly. we can't afford to park the car to rust, and we can't afford to sell a car that has a safety defect. how long is too long to expect takata to produce the needed airbags? what happens if there is an accident with significant injury while waiting for this faulty airbag to be replaced?

Multiple times a week i drive passengers in a potentially unsafe car due to a recalled airbag. i have called a dealership, but was informed the part was not available for over a year and a half. it is irresponsible of ford to not have this part available. i bought a car which i thought to be safe and the company clearly is not concerned about the welfare of their car owners due to the lack of concern about replacing the part.
