Automobile impacted telephone pole on right front quadrant. the continued travel of the vehicle up small embankment caused the vehicle to roll and flip. the driver's side impact airbag did not deploy resulting in head injury to driver. *tr
My passenger side airbag compartment looks as if it will open at any minute. is this safe to drive while waiting for replacement parts? it has been this way since vehicle was bought.
Have been notified that as of august 1, 2011, there is a recall on my car's passenger airbag. they still cannot fix the problem and it is unsafe for me to have a passenger sitting in the front of my car. my family has no choice to use the front seat of the car-. with only 15,000 miles on car the dealer would not repair also paid for 100,000 bumperto bumper warranty when aquiring the vechile needs to be safe per us. gov. and ntsb
On june 17, 2011 my daughter was driving my car and i was the passenger, we had stopped at a four way stop. when we had the right away we proceeded across the intersection. we were struck in the intersection by a driver who ran the stop sign. she was traveling around 30 to 35mph and struck the passenger side of my car, smashing in the front passenger side door, also the front support where the window shield is attached. also the middle support where the front and back doors attached, along with the top and bottom supports of the vehicle. the door had to be cut off the vehicle to remove me out of it. the vehicle was deemed a total loss. my concern is that the side curtain air bags did not deploy in a crash of this nature. why even have them if they do not work.
Dash around passenger air bag bubbling and popping out. *tr
Takata recall the dash where my passenger side airbag is, is starting to come apart. i have not heard from ford in over a year about this recall. i am not sure what would happen of someone pushed hard in that spot of my dash. to me it is a huge safety issue and should have already been fixed. or they should at least stay in contact with people about this problem. i am very dissatisfied with ford on this recall.
Illegal, unethical, immoral decisions made by ford in waiting eight years to notify me about driving a dangerous unsafe car for many years. if there are laws to follow in notifying you or the consumer when a manufacturer discovers a serious and dangerous defect in a product they offer, then they most have been violated in my case and hundreds of millions of consumers cases. for eight or nine years i have owned and my wife has driven the vehicle listed. i would like you to determine when did ford know about their cars having dangerous air bags.takata has been in the news for years. which people knew. did these people follow your laws concerning notifying nhtsa, consumers and other government offices? i received safety recall notice 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384 in july of 2016 after driving this car for eight or nine years. if you find the true answers to my questions then it is difficult to believe that no violations occurred. the actions taken by ford over the past eight years must violate nhtsa codes, consumer rights, product safety codes and many other codes. when national ford employees can not give approximate date to get unsafe car repaired to the nearest month and they do not return call as promised, then if no codes are violated then surely that is an example of unethical or immoral decisions made over the past nine years. so again i ask. when did ford know of the problem? who knew? but more importantly what laws were violated? in closing i would like to say that "statistically speaking" i find it very difficult to believe that a car could go eight or nine years with a defective product (especially a takata air bag) and all codes especially related to timely notifications to you and the consumer were met. thank you [xxx] ps i have a 2008 ford fusion sitting in the garage for three months for sale if you know any one who would buy a ford? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Dash is peeling, i know for a fact, there are many other cars have the same issue. suppose, ford used some bad glue from mexico. replacement is to replace the whole air bag? *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 ford fusion. the contact stated that the driver's side interior door handle failed and fractured several times. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the contact replaced the driver's side interior door handle himself. the contact noticed that the driver's side door cable and actuator were not releasing the latch; therefore, it caused the handle to fracture. the contact advised that the interior door handle was replaced several times; however, the failure was not corrected. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the contact also stated that the repair for nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. the contact received the recall notification approximately eight months ago. the failure mileage was unknown. vin tool confirms parts not available. ...updated 11/15/17 *bf *tr
My air bags are turned off and so far no dealer said they can fix the air bags after all these years. my passenger seat belt would not buckle and ford refused to fix it unless i paid a 300.00 price. i took it to bell tire and they put a new one in for much less. i don't feel i should have paid anything because it was a safety issue. i also had to put 5 batteries in my car because the would be totally dead. the last one even though it was under warranty i had to pay for. year 2017. i told them to dc my automatic starter because they thought for several yrs. it might be that and it was. in the mean time i paid for an altanater i did not need. paid out a lot of money to the dealer that was not necessary. i have all the bills for all the years. all started in 2010with the battery which i bought when the car was still under lease. i bought the car and to date the miles are just going to 36,000
I was driving our 2008 fusion on winding roads near our home in wnc. i was into a switch back turn and was approached by an oncoming vehicle which was on my side of the double yellow line. i did not have to swerve but allowed plenty of room for the other vehicle to pass. as they passed i was pulled into the snow and ice and off the road. i hit the side of a mountain and came to an instant stop. our vehicle has sustained many thousands of dollars worth of damage ie front end bumper and sheet metal engine cradle broken, frame floor roof buckled doors on the right side windshield. all this damage with no air bag deployment or seat belt interlock! i was driving approximately 30 to 35 mph and sustained several injuries among which are; facial lacerations and contusions, knee injury resulting in bruising and contusions and reinjuring of recent shoulder surgery. i also am seeking legal advise as to fords liabilities. *tr
My 2008 ford fusion purchased brand new also has the bulging dashboard on the front passenger side. it not only looks bad but who knows if the air bag will even deploy in a front end crash? i have also has catalytic converter replaced and today i need a new output speed sensor to the tune of another $500 in repairs. car now has 130k mi. *tr
My 08 ford fusion's air bags did not deploy. my son spun out and hit the concrete barrier and the air bags did not go off. *tr
I was driving home from work on rt. 511or lorain street in oberlin, ohio. the light on lorain and s. pleasant was flashing. i had the yellow flashing light i was driving 35 the speed limit and a girl with her two children did not stop for her red light and i hit her t-bone. my airbags did not deploy and my seatbelt did not lock. this forced me to grip the steering wheel with my hands and as i did this i bruised my arms, chest from the steering wheel trauma. i raised up from the seat and hit the top of my knees and they are bruised. i was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital for treatment and release. i missed 3 days of work and still have pain in my muscles and trauma to my body. i have contacted ford motor co. for their response. i feel i should be compensated due to my injuries and missing work. and if i had been driving on a highway and this happened i could have been hurt worse or thrown through the windshield. there was extensive damage to my car and i have a rental for over two weeks i have to drive. i would like someone to check into ford motor co. i will seek legal counsel if this is not resolved. *tr
Takata recall i received first notice of defective air bag in july 2016. i made several calls to no avail. no parts available to replace. second notice received in december 2017 with warning to not have riders in passenger seat. made several more calls. still no parts! this is unacceptable to go for two years with a dangerous defect with no remedy! and not be able to have passengers! no one has an answer.........i have two case #'s 10730307 and 12294037. very unhappy with ford's service!
