Problems with 2008 Ford Fusion AIR BAGS

Air bag came lose when driver the car and we were in motion. took the car back feb 16 2016 to the dealer and they glue it back down. this was unsafe to drive and we were not happy.

My car has not been repaired. i keep getting the same excuse, "the parts are not in"!!1 no matter which ford dealership that i conctact they all say that the parts have not been distrubuted for the repairs. this has been since january 2016 (almost 3 yrs)... this is a serious safety issue and i need it fixed asap.... the passenger frontal airbag inflator could explode if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. safety risk: the passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy... please contact me for repairs

I received a recall for the airbag and i contact the ford dealear but they say that the parts for airbag is not in and this was last year 2016 and i am still waiting so will be 2017.

The dashboard on the passenger side is bulging out where the airbag is. i took it to my local ford dealer and they said airbag is at risk for deploying, because that is what is bulging... it has gotten worse you can tell airbag is pushing on the dash. we have tried fixing it but its the bulging airbag that is the issue not the dash itself. i have researched online and have found that other peole are also having the same problem with their airbag. please recall, before someone gets hurt.

Takata recall i called ford to schedule an appointment to replace the recalled air bags over a year and a half ago. i have called since then and still no one has gotten back to me to replace the "death trap" airbag. does someone in my family have to die in order to have the airbag replaced?

I have tried repeatedly to obtain recall repair with various ford dealerships to no avail. i have no choice but to drive my vehicle at risk. i do not have access to use a different vehicle.

Dash is bulging around passenger air bag; my car is always parked under our 3 sided enclosed car port year round. this just puffed up one morning when i was getting in car - noticed. no previous indicator. its big now and i worry air bag will "come loose" my car not on recall list but it should be... this is dangerous. suppose a passenger leans forward and grabs it.. not good situation... and dealer / ford should stand by a warranty of some sort. this comes up out of the blue.. i've not been in accident... car has extremely low mileage...

I noticed the area where the passenger side airbag is is bulging from the dash. when i went to start the car it would turn over and immediately cut out. airbag icon is lit up on dash as is the engine light. repeated efforts to start and keep going were unsuccessful. since i was on my way to work i kept trying. finally got going and traveling approximately 20 mph and the car just completely shuts down. got started again and proceeded to work and it happened again going about 35 mph. ran fine for a couple of days, back to the same old thing today with the airbag light staying on. i have read of this issue before however i could not find that report today. it is very dangerous to be traveling along and have the car completely shut down on you. ford really needs to take care of this issue. i am contemplating reporting this to a news station because it seems like they are not taking this seriously. the other reports i just read do not mention car cutting out on them or airbag and engine lights on.

Drivers side door lock became inoperable. drivers side door will not lock using the lock switch or the lock button on the key. the only way to let yourself out from the drivers side is to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. the only way to lock the drivers side door is with the actual key itself. this is very inconvenient and dangerous i feel if i were in an accident. also, my 2008 fusions air bag on the passenger side dash is starting to lift away. anything to due with my family's safety is a big deal! these things are dangerous and need to be recalled and fixed!

A couple of weeks ago i noticed that the passenger side airbag compartment is bulging and am afraid that it may deploy accidentally causing bodily harm.

My son's 2008 ford fusion has a bulging dashboard at the air bag deployment section. it looks like if deployed, the bag would be prevented from protecting the passenger. i am seeing many complaints about this topic on '07 and '08 ford fusions. any ford issued recalls??

Takata recall: i do not think that enough pressure is being applied to get the problem fixed. my car should be pulled and a rental car provided at no cost. that will get them to fix the problem faster. i do not have full use of my vehicle as i no longer allow a passenger to ride in the front seat. only the passenger side airbag is impacted on my vehicle. ground all vehicles impacted and see how fast they get the problem corrected. it has been long enough. take the gloves off and get tough!

Takata recall: as seen in numerous other complaints, the area in the dash around the passenger side airbag is bulging. ford recently expanded the recall to include my model year ford fusion, however, it does not appear that my vehicle is included for some reason. this, despite the fact that the air bag appears to be expanding and pressing against the dash. i would suspect that this problem is related to the takata issue and needs to be addressed by ford.

I have contacted ford about my passenger side air bag bulging out and they acted like they didn't care. this is dangerous. if it would to explode it would bust my windshield and not to mention if i had a passenger in front of it they would get hurt if not killed. how has this not been recalled???? this is a major safety issue and i have seen so many complaints about this issue and nothing has been done. i love my ford fusion but if ford is gonna handle serous issues like this i will stop dealing with ford.

Like many other people the dash area holding in my airbag of my fusion started bulging a few months ago. at first i thought it was the trim but the whole area is bulging more each day. i am afraid to have anyone sit in the passenger seat for fear of the airbag deploying randomly. have been advised that the only fix is to replace the dash. since i see that countless other owners have experienced the same problem it would seem like ford would fix this.....especially since it involves the airbag which is after all a big safety issue.

The dashboard had begun to slightly bulge and has now peeled away from the passenger side air bag. after researching online, this appears to be a very widespread issue, of which ford has no remedy in place for except replacing the entire dash. for a car with relatively low miles over the course of ownership, this seems like an issue that should be corrected. i have no way of knowing how it may affect deployment of the air bag, and i'm not sure i want to find out. *tr

Takata inflators my car has not been safe no one can sit in the passenger seat i'm making payments for two years over 5000 to be driving unsafe vehicle neither takata or ford give me a resolution to this matter the passenger airbag is lifting up the sensor is sometimes on and off on the dash board

Went to worthington ford in long beach over a year ago (exact date not sure) after getting an airbag recall letter and was told they did not have air bags replacements for my car at the time. i checked several times and still no replacement. i service my car there all the timer and they never checked about this. other customers were there for the same recall and were told the same thing. the dealership never called me if the part was in. still waiting. when are these airbags going to come in?

There is a hump in my dash from the air bag, got a letter from them saying it was unsafe for anyone to sit in front passenger seat, i have been very patient as i bought this car new and it has been an issue for more than 4 years. i feel ford has had plenty of time to fix this. really??? make my husband and son have to sit in the back seat???? i have grown very tired of looking at hump on dash from defective airbag. it is time my car was fixed!!!!!!!!! the hump below airbag on dash just popped up going down the road - it was neither extremely hot or cold.

Takata recall: my passenger front seat airbag is faulty and that has been implicated in a number of intermittent, unexplained electrical problems and a constant "parasitic drain" on my battery requiring a replacement alternator and 2 batteries, so far. also i have been limited in performing duties of my job which requires transportation of others who (for medical needs) need to be in the front seat for observation. therefore i have suffered a financial loss as well. i drove this vehicle for 5 years, transporting my own children it the front seat before i received a safety recall notice. i was totally unaware of the deadly potential danger i exposed my children for hours everyday. i am now suffering from guilt, fear and shame for being unable to confidently protect my children from dangers that were well known to ford & takata for many years, but kept secret from the public. i have suffered emotional stress and psychological damage-similar to ptsd - from this situation.
