The passenger airbag indicator came on about 3 weeks ago, and the car was not involved in an accident in over 4 years. the ford service representatives said the airbag is intacted with no hazards, and the airbag sensor needs to be replaced. the car was not in an accident, and there are no dents on either of the passenger doors. while sitting in motionless car, noticed the dash board airbag indicator was eluminated, and i was parked in the work parking lot on commercial blvd, behind work at 401 broadway ne 87103. i took the car to power ford on 1101 montano rd ne, albuquerque nm 87107, on wednesday january 24, 2018, where they are waiting on the passenger airbag sensor to come in. a diagnostics was completed to verify the condition of the car.

When will there be a fix for the air bags?
Takata recall: about two years ago i received a recall notice from ford. no remedy to date and calls to the local dealer are not fruitful. yesterday i got a safety recall that said "remedy parts" would be available in spring 2018 and until then i should not use the front passenger seat. now the car is less usable for my family and it cannot be sold. i expect a better remedy than "don't use our product" until we can repair it. i suggest that every owner affected should be given a loaner car until their car is repaired and safe to use. too many years have gone by. ford is just stonewalling the problem and should be held accountable today.
Called dealer and was told that there is no remedy at this time to replace the airbag. i was given no other information then to contact ford directly and complain, also to disregard the deadline on the recall card i received.

Called bob sight ford in lee's summit, mo and spoke with glen about the defective airbag and they stated that the airbag company went out of business and that they still haven't received the air bags to fix this issue. they told me i would receive a letter in the mail or phone call if and when those parts become available. not sure if this is true or not just thought i'd pass it along, they said theres nothing they can do at this point.

Takata recall: i called the caruso ford dealership, located at 3500 cherry ave., long beach, regarding the takata airbag recall. jose, at the service department, confirmed the recall, but said they didn't have the part. when i asked about an estimated time, he said he refused to give me that information, and ended the conversation saying that ford was gonna send me a letter when the part would arrive. jose gave me the impression that ford is refusing to help.

Takata recall; i received the recall notice dated july 2016, immediately notified academy ford and was told that the parts are not in and i would receive a notice/letter when the parts are available. i'd check with them every couple months with the latest being 10/17/17, and still no luck to correct this problem. i was given an 800 number to call "headquarters", but the gentleman only said that there was millions of cars out there that need taken care of....i asked what was i supposed to do about this and he told me to "drive carefully". today, 10/31/17, i get this card in the mail stating that tk holdings are filing chapter 11. does this mean they will not be fixing my car's problem? this has gone on for over a year and it makes no sense why this airbag issue isn't fixed by now. can someone please assist me with this matter. i will be contacting several different dealerships to see if i get any help. i don't even allow anyone to ride in the front passenger seat due to this problem.

Keep getting run a round with phil long ford ( takata recall ) nothing happen to my car yet phil long ford will not honor recall almost one year has pass.
Takata recall - i received a letter july 2016 stating that my airbag needed to be replaced in accordance with the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act. i have been with two ford dealers since then, but they said every time i brought my car in for an oil change that the replacement airbag was not available. i just entered my vin into the nhtsa website and it states that my car does need the airbag replaced since it could rupture on impact, but the remedy is not available yet. i am very concerned since i'm driving with an airbag that is known to cause danger and death if deployed. i want my airbag fixed asap. it's been over a year that i've been forced to drive in danger. please provide the remedy now.

Takata recall (16v-384). i received a letter one year ago (jul 2016) regarding this recall. i am still operating this car on a daily basis. this model does not have an off switch for the passenger side front air bag so i cannot have a front passenger ride safely with me in this car as it stands now. can you at least have a ford mechanic install an off switch for this dangerous air bag at least until a total recall can be performed? if not, i expect this recall (16v-384) to be accomplished very soon because having to wait over a year would be extremely irresponsible on your part. please get this done now. thank you! my next step will be to write the potus!
