Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while at a stop sign and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning. in addition, the gear shifter would shift into another gear independently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer three times, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

I just bought this car 1 month ago and when it is at a stop and you hit the accelerator, it shudders between 1st and 2nd and between 2nd and 3rd. it is getting worse the longer the problem goes on. i have taken it to parkway ford in winston salem, nc and was told it was a common problem and that the part has been ordered and could take 3+ months before it will come in and my car can be fixed. in the meantime, i am driving a car that acts like it's going to stall out in the middle of the road. having to wait possibly 3 months for the warranty repairs to be completed is unacceptable.

While turning at a light, my steering went out and caused me to veer into oncoming traffic in the opposing lane. it now takes great effort and muscle to make and turns in the vehicle. i have had the vehicle in the shop numerous times due to a faulty transmission. now when i turn on the vehicle, the instrument panel displays that there is an urgent transmission fault, then it will flash that there is an urgent steering assist fault. while running a vehicle health report, the vehicle states that the transmission is at a "reduced power state" which causes it to hesitate, not change gears, and not be able to accelerate properly - all of which ford says are "characteristics of this transmission." also, the transmission does not work at all in sport mode and has went into reverse or park grinding to a screeching halt while driving on a highway. luckily, i did not crash when the steering suddenly went out. my vehicle is currently in a lemon law dispute, therefore, ford will not further diagnose my vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle lost power and would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the vehicle shuddered. after shutting off the vehicle and restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 78,000. ...updated 12/28/16 *bf updated 01/03/17.*jb

The transmission on the focus is ineffective and, quite frankly, dangerous. delayed starts and failures to accelerate are the norm. ford refuses to fix this known problem and this model really should be recalled before injuries happen.

Car jerks, hesitates from stopped position. clutch replaced at 10,000 miles. at 15,000 miles car was brought back into the deal. computer adjustments made on the clutch and put within range. car has been brought back to the dealership 3 more times. the last on march 10 2016. car started to jerk and hesitate the very next day. i need my car for work and this is unacceptable. the trans needs to be recalled. i have had a ford since 1982. my 2 brothers work for ford for over 30 years. i am really considering moving on from ford with my next vehicle. very frustrated customer.

My vehicle was purchased new and currently has 29,000 miles on it. the air bag housing was loosed and has play on it, when reported to a ford dealer in merced ca, i was told their was nothing wrong. the other issue is the transmission, it slips. i recently recieved notices in the mail from 3rd party lawyers stating that it is a common problem with the focus, and "shuttering" may also appear. the lower arm, rotor housing was recently replaced because of the bearings failing due to "freezing up." ford representatives are down playing the shuttering and saying it is due to a program issue, and "when" it occurs, to bring it in.

The trunk will pop open while driving (in motion). it happened couple times on many different situations and even in the highway. last time i was at an avenue and it randomly opened and i had to urgently park. i have recorded a video that shows the event. i have also sent my car to ford over 4 times to repair my transmission as my car was shuddering and shaking on take offs

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. at 5,800 miles, the transmission caused the vehicle to jerk and vibrate when the gears were shifted. the dealer replaced the clutch. the failure also occurred at 18,500 miles. after repairing the vehicle again, the failure recurred at 29,000 miles. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the vin was unknown. the initial failure mileage was 5,800. updated 04/22/16*lj *tr

Transmission shudders on acceleration and seems to slip when gas /power applied. ford never completely fixed this problem when car under warranty and now will not touch it saying 2 months out of warranty when i brought it back 22 may 2019. previously reported under warranty. this is a 2014 focus. ford dealer stated 2 months out of warranty, but previously reported. ?????

At 26000 miles i took car to dealer again for the car grinding and jerking at low speed (10 miles per hour) and not having power on acceleration at 40 mph. the car just decelerates for awhile before it finally goes. i was told that my car is needing a second clutch replacement. the vehicle is not even 2 years old. but it will be about 10 weeks before the part will be in. i had the clutch replaced in october 2014 (shards of metal were found in the bell housing) and had their recall of the tcm performed fall last year. what is sad is that the dealer/ford argues with the consumer and tries to keep telling me everything is normal. this is not the first complaint i have filed on this (reference #10726101). these cars are dangerous and should not be on the road.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced hesitation, severe vibration, and lack of acceleration. the failure occurred without warning. air port ford (8001 burling pike, florence, ky) was contacted and diagnosed that the clutch pack was defective and needed to be replaced. the transmission was replaced, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was also taken to browns ford lincoln (1701 w main st, west liberty, ky) where it was diagnosed that the clutch pack was defective and needed to be replaced. the transmission was replaced, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

Transmittion shudders 1st to 2nd gear upon acceleration and while turning slow to stalls in traffic. grinding noise from transmittion while driving and in park. loss of power from start in traffic. erratic transmittion gear changes while driving in traffic. vehicle violently rolls backwards when on a slight incline and vehicle placed into reverse. 2nd time ford serviced vehicle and problem still exists. problems exist every time vehicle is in motion. started around 7000 miles on new vehicle. current mileage is 15400.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked or accelerated as soon as the brake pedal was released and without depressing the accelerator pedal. there were no warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the transmission module was reprogrammed. the issue persisted and the vehicle was taken to the dealer again where the clutch was replaced. the failure recurred 1,000 miles later. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a third time where the transmission module was reprogrammed again. the contact stated that the clutch also needed to be replaced, but the part was unavailable. the manufacturer was notified and the contact was given the number csp:14m01 to have the warranty extended. the failure mileage was 35,000.

I have the same "shuddering" issues as many of these other complaints. i have had the transmission reprogrammed several times and the issue goes away temporarily and then comes back. worse, the vehicle has stalled while driving on the highway twice. i thought the first time was a fluke because i was able to get going again, but after the second time i had it towed to a dealer. they started the car and let it run for an hour, then plugged in the computer, and called me and said they didn't find anything wrong with it. meanwhile i see several recalls online related to engine stalling related to electrical signals and fuel pump issues. while my car doesn't have any outstanding recalls right now, i can't help but believe this is the issue. i drive over 300 miles each weekend on busy highways, and now i have a car payment on a vehicle i can't drive because no one can fix it and the problem is still there, a huge safety hazard! i will never buy a ford again, and i'm selling my stock.

Made complaints to ford regarding my transmission failures while drive on roads, i.e. stalling, decreasing speed, jerking etc. as a result i had to take a loss on the trade in at mountain view ford in chattanooga, tn (loss = $8500.00)

Shuddering of the auto transmission, erratic shifting, bogging down during acceleration/wont go. pulled out of the driveway today onto the state highway i live on and the car shuddered and would not go, was almost hit in the side due to the cars lack of power to enter traffic. these cars should be recalled immediately!

2014 ford focus - 28,000 miles: transmission fault service now: while driving on a toll bridge at 80 mph the car started to jerk and the following lights appeared: brake-abs-car on road-car on road off: i was able to coast off the toll and park in an exxon. i had the car towed to maxwell ford. it took them eight days to "fix" the problem module transmission control. they extended the warranty: 10 years, 150,000 miles. i am driving it now, but the car is now pulling while driving and shuddering, hesitating and then jerking. to have a new car completely shut down on a toll highway, with cars coming at you at 85mph was the most insanely scary, dangerous & life threatening experience i have ever had in my life. i trusted ford with my safety, my money and my life. why isn't this problem under recall? someone is going to get killed behind this problem.

Bought car february of 2016 at 28,000 miles, car started hesitating, stuttering, vibrating at acceleration. other times, it feels like it is going to just take off on its own. i took the car in to ford and was told that it was the clutch and it would tak 8-12 weeks for the part to come in and in the mean time i can drive the car without worry. i do worry because my son just got his license and i am afraid that the hesitation will cause an accident. i did some research and noticed that this is something that a lot of focus owners are dealing with. this is very dangerous and the vehicle should be recalled.

The vehicle shutters when shifting gears at low speed. occasionally the transmission will hesitate when taken out of park into drive. the transmission over heated within the first year of purchased and towed to dealership.

Severe transmission/clutch problems. shudders, hesitates and surges when shifting or even just driving. cannot slow then accelerate without stopping without heavy jerking. when trying to pass on a freeway, car falls into neutral and won't accelerate. car has fewer than 10,000 miles and clutch is already 25% worn.

The transmission is being defective since i initially purchase the car in august 2014, i did not noticed it right away, it was until i was driving with a passenger that he mention the shake that the car have when i was in a stop and begin to accelerate it start shaking like when you are driving a manual and don't know how to properly change the shift. it keep doing it so i took it to the ford dealership mechanics and they told me they know about the problem but they couldn't do anything about it since all the transmissions were dual even if they change it i will still experience the same. so at that moment they told me they could only reset the computer to see if alleviate the problem, it didn't so i try to take it again but they will tell me they didn't have the personal to do transmission work or things of that nature.

My 2014 ford focus has had the clutch pack replaced three times by the dealer. the car has 19,000 miles on it. the transmission shudders upon acceleration from a stop and when accelerating from a slow speed doesn't down shift causing heavy vibration. the repair lasts a few weeks to a few months then comes back. the parts for the last repair took about 10 weeks for the dealer to receive. two dealers i have talked to said the clutch pack on the ford focus and ford fiesta automatic transmissions are faulty and is part that fails constantly. my vehicle now has 19,000 miles on it and now has it's fourth clutch pack. the transmission is an automatic. i have paperwork for all of the repairs.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle vibrating violently without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced or rebuilt. the vehicle was repaired with a rebuilt transmission twice, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 46,000.

Automatic transmission shutters when starting from a standing stop and when advancing through the gears. vehicle will drift forward or backward when setting on a slope after releasing the brake but before applying the accelerator. this is supposed to be an automatic transmission but is very dangerous. dealer refuses to fix the car under warranty.

Car hesitates and shutters when driven. this is worse at lower speeds or when turning. this happens both on the highway and on city streets. it's been serviced 4 times for this issue, each time the module requires reprogramming, but the problem persists. recently the check engine soon light had been on. we've been to the dealer and they repaired it, but the engine light has turned on again only 5 days after the last repair. i've checked and the focus has 5 different active recalls, 2 of them with regards to power train, but this car seems to be excluded from them at this time.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while starting to drive the vehicle, it shook violently. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 63,343.

I have had my 2014 ford focus for almost 2 years now and it has been giving me nothing but problems with the transmission/clutches. the first time i noticed it was a little after 5 months of having the car i was driving the vehicle on the highway and out of nowhere it died on me shut off while i was in motion in heavy traffic. i was able to pull to the side of the road and turn it off and was able to turn it on and take it to the dealership. at the dealership i was told my computer malfunctioned and needed to be updated. after doing this my car was fine for about another 2 months then it started to sputter, hesitate while turning and in motion and also not shifting gears correctly. i took it again to the dealership and this time they told me my clutches need to be replaced and this happens all the time with my type of car. i was confused about them telling me this because this is very dangerous to be happening all the time. i go the car back worked fine for another 3 months then the same thing again with the transmission. took it in again and was told again that i needed the new clutches in my car and i said new clutches? why was i not given a recall on my old one oh because we only change them out if you come in and complain about the old ones what?? really!! so got my car back and this time 2 months later today 1/23/16 i was driving the vehicle and was mid u-turn and my car turned off in the middle of my u-turn in on coming traffic almost killing me!!! i haven't been to the delaership yet but after numerous attempts with ford corporate to fix this nothing is happening they are not taking blame for anything and refusing to recall these cars. reading online i'm happy to see that i am not the only one they tell this too and it really makes me upset, angry and frustrated. i'm scared to drive my brand new car because of this please help me and everyone else.

This car was bought used with 22218 miles on it on 12/29/2015. the car was running fine. by the middle of january 2016, the transmission was slipping. before we made first payment on 2/9/2016, the transmission was slipping and shuddering going into second gear. here it is 5/5/2016 and we are supposedly still waiting on a part to come in, we feel like we have bought their problem and we are on our own, and this could be a very serious issue in safety when your car will not go. from dead stop, shifting from first, going into second it shudders, hesitates, in traffic, it's really bad. this was bought for my teenage daughter to go to college, now i'm worried about her safety in it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle started jerking and shifting from the transmission. the speedometer decreased in speed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 29,000.

When starting the vehicle it has a 'hard start' and idles extremely rough for a car with only 18200 miles. it has done this since i purchased it in june 2014. i've had enough cars to know that this is indeed not "normal". it feels like the idle is not set right and it vibrates enough that you can feel it while in park and idling. i was told by the service manager who is obviously not a mechanic that this is 'normal' for the 4 cylinder engine to vibrate. also the car continuously shudders, lurches and loses power on acceleration as a result of a faulty transmission. clutch assembly was replaced at 9300 miles. note to everyone, upon taking the car to the garage for the fuel pump recall in dec 2015, the car had to be put in the garage again in jan 2016 for the purge valve to be replaced, which resulted in my tank becoming deformed (deformed means it shrinks, but no one bothered to explain that to me). within a month (after 4 repeated trips to the garage for the same issues: distance to empty calculations and miles per gallon were all over the place, no gas mileage to speak of but each time was told that when diagnostics were performed my car was getting 35 mpg). however, when i put gas in it, i had a 12 gallon tank before purge valve was replaced in jan 2016, 9 gallons was all it would hold and the gauge showed full. the the car used 1/4 tank of gas to drive 27 miles. the vehicle is still shuddering at a stop light & lurching when accelerating and feels as though the tires are grabbing for traction. but it is within 'specs' according to the technicians. i have had the following replaced: 2nd fuel tank; 3rd fuel pump; 2nd purge valve; and 2nd clutch assembly and the car isn't even 2 yrs old yet and has under 20,000 miles. it is a road hazard. i've had it to 3 different garages and still no resolution. contacted ford (dont bother), i have since contacted the bbb.

The 2014 ford focus has several issues. the power shift transmission is a complete disaster. it jerks, bucks, shudders, delays shifting, and has an erratic shifting pattern. the uneven and erratic shifting causes gas mileage to fluctuate between 20 mpg and 28 mpg.(actual not average-average is somewhere between 23 and 25 mpg). there is never better gas mileage than 28 mpg. this is unacceptable for a 4 cylinder vehicle that is advertised as 33 average mpg. i have spent a lot of time registering, filing for, and documenting necessary repairs for the class action law suit and eventual arbitration. the local ford dealer has been difficult to work with and we only have one on the east side of the big island of hawaii, where i live. this has been a huge inconvenience and i have to rent a car every time i take the focus in for repairs. ford has replaced the clutch which has improved the shifting to some degree, but not mitigated the problems, completely. the car is going in for a third evaluation as it is still staying in first gear for an inappropriately long time and bucking at low speeds. i have requested that ford replace or repurchase this vehicle. so far, so bad. the "deal" ford offered me was nothing, after i filed my paperwork. i am waiting to be assigned an arbitrator, but that has been stalled by a third party in colorado, who wants the rules of arbitration changed. i have read the entire arbitration document and it favors ford, of course. however, if they offer to repurchase or replace this vehicle, i would be agreeable to that. i do not know what more the colorado people want, but it is stalling all of us waiting for our chance at arbitration. in the meantime, i am stuck with this major lemon vehicle, which, is covered under hawaii's lemon law as well. ford manufactured a sub-standard vehicle and needs to take it back.

When i begin to pull off the transmission hesitates to go into the gears along with jerking and chugging noises, this happens with ever stop and go motion.

My vehicle has been taken in for the recommended recall in regards to the transmission problem. after driving it for about 20 miles the car continues to rev and stall when starting from a stop. now i am taking back to the dealership because they will re-test it even when thought they know the problem persists. the dealership made me contact ford motor company because they did all they could do. now ford motor company is making me go back to the dealership. this issue needs to be resolved quickly as now i am afraid to drive my vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the transmission failed. the contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle jerked violently. the vehicle was taken to be repaired but the failure recurred multiple times. the details of the repairs were unknown. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 23,200. updated 03/09/16*lj *tr

The car hesitates every time you try to accelerate. it does this when you are stationary and first starting out and when you are already in motion. sometimes it's so pronounced that i'm afraid it's going to stall completely. this has happened since the 1st day i bought it and the dealer where i bought it said there was nothing wrong with it that's the way it's supposed to be. something about a different kind of transmission.

I previously had a 2012 ford focus, which left me stranded in the middle of a bridge after a recall part broke. (ford in the letter sent on the recall stated they could not fix the part that broke until it broke). so i had to wait until that day happened. that was the second strike against them. i had already been in for diagnostic checks and reprogramming several times over the years i owned the car. then they had to replace the clutch and tcm; kept my car for 3-4 days. so after all that was fixed i traded and got a 2014 ford focus hatchback. all that stuff was supposed to be behind me and no glitches in this year. after 15,000 miles was put on the car the clutch started acting up again and progressively got worse. the shuttering and stuttering become so bad i thought my car was going to fall apart. from a dead stop to a go (20-30 mph) it had such a hard time shifting gears that the rpm's would just take off. grinding noises under the car upon acceleration. when in cruise control it would just lose speed on it's own, cruise set for 60mph and rpm"s would just drop outta no where like the car was about to stall. took it in and sure enough new clutch and seals were already needed (this car was purchased in april 2015 and the clutch went out in january 2016). they kept the car a wk (at no time was i offered a rental) had to borrow my parents vehicles to get around; my husband needed his car. had the car back a wk and have already taken it in to be reprogrammed b/c yet again we are having shuttering and stuttering issues as well as problems upon acceleration. when i check 2014 focus recalls there are some major recalls. i was issued a recall on my vin# for the tcm already. they have increased my warranty to 100,000 b/c they know i will be back for more repairs and the service guy stated replacing the clutch is only temporary, i will be back for a new one again and again.

I bought my car brand new august 2, 2014. i began having issues with my transmission shortly after purchase. my vehicle went in for repairs at 13,399 miles. they reset tcm/pcm and ordered a new clutch assembly. 2 months later it finally came in and was replaced with a little over 17,000 miles on it. it has since messed up again. i took it to the shop on january 4, 2016 and they had it for a day. i picked it up again on january 5, 2016 and was told the clutch assembly needed to be replaced again. i have contacted ford and requested a buy back and they refuse. this is an ongoing issue with this model. please do something.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving 65 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated in excess. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the shifting gear and the linkage in the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred and multiple warnings were displayed across the message board. in addition, the contact stated that the gear shifter was shifted in park and the reverse position and failed to shift out of those positions. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 6,000.

From the purchase of the vehicle (dec. 2014) there have been repeated issues with power. within the first months it powered down on the freeway - with the dashboard's power flickering on and off and the car put putting to a near stop. we were only driving about 40 mph and it was not a steep incline. when i called the dealership from which i purchased the car they didn't report any recalls or malfunctions, when i brought it in they said that there was a transmission software updated needed. on and off for months throughout the year my car would struggle when accelerating and shake. although i brought it in and called multiple times i was told that it was safe and operable. finally in january 2016 i brought it in again (after having gone in multiple times for inspections and fluid changes) when i had experienced stalling enough times to frighten me and after a whole day was told that there was a recall on the clutch. it has been 2 months!!! i have not received a loaner or rental vehicle even though the car is unsafe to drive and there is a malfunctioning clutch that controls the power of the vehicle which could stall at anytime resulting in an accident. my car is still shaking and worries me to drive every single time; i do not have an alternative vehicle or the money to pay for one nor should i have to. i have been disregarded repeatedly by ford's corporate customer service manager nikki and by the gentlemen whom i once respected at the service department of petaluma ford. the part has been "on order" for more than a month. i am appalled at the way that this situation is - or rather is not being handled. this car is a lemon and after paying thousands of dollars for this vehicle i would like to be reimbursed so that i can purchase a reliable vehicle outside of ford's limited selection or at least have the car rightfully replaced by an alternative vehicle.

Automatic transmission slips and grinds causing the car to sometimes shake and vibrate. downshifts while driving causing the car to seem to lose power while accelerating. i have almost been involved in numerous accidents. it is very unsafe and i am sometimes frightened to drive it. i took it to the dealership for repair in november, 2015 but ford has yet to repair it 3 months later. the problem has gotten much worse and i fear for my life while driving it. i bought the car with 26000 miles on it and it now has 32000 miles.

Focus 2014 been in the dealer ship in fairfax..ted's for over a month now .i called 4 times and no one answers my calls or return them...i don't need the car any more since i had to buy another one..i shakes when ever you it starts moving very violently and constantly stall for no reason it's not going anywhere and have some sounds that the whole engine is about to break...the seat belt don't work all the time or the air bags offen start beeping on the dash bord...it's been a really ruff ride for a car that has less then 30000 limes on it...it's been a real problem and headache since i got it...returned it to check few time but nothing...can they pay for my car value??? or my laon??

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford focus. while driving, the vehicle slowed down and the rpms suddenly increased, which caused the vehicle to speed up again. the contact took the vehicle to vista ford lincoln of oxnard (1501 auto center dr, oxnard, ca 93036, (805) 983-6511) and they re-calibrated the engine. the vehicle's performance improved, but the failure recurred and worsened. the vehicle was taken to another unknown ford dealer and they replaced the transmission control module and the transmission clutch. after a couple of months, the failure recurred. the dealer stated that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced again. the dealer wanted to charge for the repair since it was no longer covered by the warranty. the failure mileage was 36,000.

When accelerating from a stopped position, or a slowed speed (such as in a traffic jam), the vehicle jumps/lurches due to a problem with the timer on the automatic standard transmission. this is a known problem to ford and many people are having problems and being placed in unsafe situations. i paid good money (as did everyone else) for a car that is known to be unsafe and ford refuses to do anything.

I purchased my 2014 ford focus 1/1/16. when driving at slow speeds and always if accelerating at 10mph the car jerks and sputters. i took back to the ford dealer and had what they said was an adjustment due to a recall. didn't fix anything, took it in again and the answer is its the design due to a 5 speed within an automatic transmission it has to adjust itself. this car will not accelerate when a light turns red turning left and i need to get out of the way, it jerks and sputters, same problem at any stop. my concern is that if i can't accelerate to get out of the way i'm going to get hit, at a light, stop, on the freeway. ford told me that's the way all of them drive. this is a daily occurrence since i purchase the car.

Vehicle jerks on streets and highways. transmission is faulty. nhtsa has already received several complaint regarding this specific issue. why hasn't there been a forced recall? it's a problem that affects several customer's driving the same model.

Takata recall.... on take off car violently jerks at 2000 rpms and continues to jerk intel 4000-5000 rpms then shifts gears. this happens every time i drive, has been doing this when i bought the car in 01/01/2016 and is getting worse everyday

Transmission has issues w/the clutch. has been taken 2 the dealer now 4x's since purchase in jan. '15. has a constant shudder/jerk when taking off from a stop; daughter has never driven a stick so she is not familiar & says she feels like car is about to die. every time we take to dealer all they say is "all we can do is reprogram the transmission"; car is getting worse. she basically has to slam on gas pedal sometimes to get it to go. car is dangerous, and is in a stationary motion when this is happening.

My 2014 ford focus began lurching, shuddering and stalling a few months after i bought it in october 2014. i took it to the dealership and it was fixed. ford even extended the warranty on certain transmission parts to 100,000 miles. the problems have come back, and for four months i've called my dealership to get this fixed. every time they tell me that ford will not send parts to dealers so they can't fix the problem. these transmission problems are rampant with the automatic dual clutch transmissions ford installed in focuses and fiestas, and it's time for a recall. these are dangerous problems, and ford has chosen to remain silent and refuse to provide solutions.

Car hesitates, shudders, fails to move, engine revs without moving, sounds terrible at times..
