Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford flex. while operating the vehicle, the door ajar sensor light illuminated erroneously indicating that the doors were not secured. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that a module was faulty and needed to be replaced. no further information was available. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 80,000.

Driver side door and right back passenger ajar door. it says its open when its running. totally unsafe for my kids who ride in the back. since i bought this vehicle to have a better comfort with my family and drive them to their school, soccer practices and games. :( total disappointment bout this issue. when ford charges me around $500.00 to fix it, when supposed to be a recall for faulty latch.. *tr

The driver door is showing ajar. it you slam the door multiple times, the light will go off. every time you put on brakes, the chiming goes off and light comes on. i have seen this has been a recurring problem and ford will not issue a recall. must replace entire latch system to correct the problem. *tr

Purchased car in feb. 2013. in oct 2014 i began taking my flex to sunland ford service center due to door ajar warning lights on both right side doors. the service center would disassemble and clean door assembly. there would be no more warning lights for several weeks and then the problem would persist of the doors appearing ajar. finally, service center decided to fully replace door assembly on back door latch but part was on back order. service center replaced back door assembly in december of 2014. my passenger door continues to show the door ajar and my warranty expired february 2015. i still have this problem today and have called ford motor company to which they claim this is not a known problem. there are several safety concerns. 1) in motion: dome lights don't shut off hindering visibility for the first 2-5 minutes of night driving. 2) stationary or in motion: doors cannot be locked while car is on and parked. this is dangerous. 3) my auto door locks quit working for a time and i can only assume it's because of these door issues.

Door ajar message is displayed after driver's door is closed. multiple closing attempts are required to rectify, often five or more. doors cannot be locked while message is displayed, creating a safety issue. dealer has said it is swamped with recall work and cannot address. *tr

Door ajar light for the front passenger door stays lit even though door is closed. at times it takes over twenty attempts to get it to turn off. doors will not lock and lights do not go off at night until you manage to get the door light off. even when light is off and door has not been opened it will suddenly light up and alarm goes off when driving. *tr

Upon hard acceleration exhaust fumes enter the passenger compartment. go to http://fordflexforum/topic/596-fumes-in-cabin/page-2 for actual carbon monoxide concentrations test results performed by a fire department. *tr

The door sensor on my 2013 ford flex continuously says the door is "ajar" even though it may not be. this causes all of the interior lights to come on, as well as the doors to unlock. this is a huge safety concern as i travel daily 80-90 miles with two toddlers in my vehicle. sometimes you can shut the door 4-5x and the door ajar sensor will go off, but most of the time, you have to just deal with it.. unsafe and all. also, the door ajar sensor when the car is off and parked causes the alarm on the vehicle to go off at random times...usually all through the middle of the night! this is a daily occurrence that has been happening for approximately 10 months. ford will not cover this as they say my vehicle is out of warranty and the cost is estimated $600 to repair. i should not have to pay for something of this nature when i am not the only person this particular problem. if you do a simple internet search, everyone has this issue with their ford door ajar sensor, not just on the flex! this is definitely a safety issue that needs to be addressed and something should be done about this on ford's part. calling ford's customer relation department was a waste of breath. *tr

I was turning a corner and something popped and the car would not steer. the only thing that stopped the car was the curve, as i was making the turn, and that caused a lot of damage. sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il said they would not repair the damages caused by the lemon-ford-flex that was sold to me because the vehicle was 300 miles out of the warranty. sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il than said it would have to be reported to insurance. so i reported it to insurance and the repair shop, that was repairing the damages, said they found damage to the radiator (1,500 dollars worth of damages) which could not have been caused by the car hitting the curve. and that it looked like sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il raised the car inappropriately and caused the radiator damage. the repair company said, since the original place where the flex was towed to (sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il) was located right behind them (across the alley), sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il caused the damage. and of course, sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il denied it and would not pay for the damages. buyer beware - do not do business with sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il. buyer beware - do not buy a ford and if you do, do not go to sutton ford lincoln in matteson, il. *tr

The door actuators in these cars are defective and need to be on the recall list!! many ford flex door actuators are defective , the car thinks the door is open when it is closed . causes your doors not to lock, makes your battery overheat, drains your battery and makes the alarm go off randomly . i bought this car new and it had happened since day 1!
