Passenger side rear door latch and lock assy fails to keep door closed. one morning i was loading the car and putting stuff in the back seat. when i closed the door it failed to stay shut and secure and the door lock would not work. i use bungee cords to keep the door closed. i talked to my local ford dealer about any. recalls or service bulletins relating to the door catch/ lock failure. they said nothing exist yet on my car. *tr

Arrived home after picking up dry cleaning and placing it on back seat, via back driver's side door. opened door to retrieve clothes, door would not latch shut. had to have my son sit in back seat and hold door, while i drove to dealership, as the door would swing open when i made a turn. turns out, car was four days out of warranty, necessitating my paying the full repair cost. by the way, i was told by the service advisor that his wife's fiesta was in the shop for the same problem and she was three days out of warranty. part was backordered. he told me ford is aware that this is a problem, but hasn't made it a recall. cost me $300+ to fix. ford needs to step up and cover/reimburse owners! *tr

The right (passenger side) rear locking mechanism failed, resulting in the door no longer latching closed. the door would not stay shut at that point. dealer reported the locking mechanism needs to be replaced completely. this is a major safety issue- car is too unsafe to drive and insecure because it cannot be locked. *tr

The rear passenger door latch broke. when i looked at it, it would flap loosely inside its mechanism and would not secure the door to the body of the car. i had to ratchet strap the doors together to keep the bad one closed. now, six months after the first latch broke, i removed the strap to access the rear seats and discovered that the driver-side rear door latch had failed as well. same band-aid fix as before, but it's a safety/security issue, and the strap is starting to pull the interior door handles/panels from the doors themselves. it's only a matter of time before those fail as well.

Passenger rear door lock won't lock, and door flies open. this has been reported on this site before. no help from dealer/ford so far. this is a safety issue and should be handled/resolved as such. *tr

Unexpectedly rear passenger door wouldn't latch or close. latching mechanism had to be replaced by dealership at cost to owner. *tr

This vehicle - driver rear door assembly was replace due to malfunction door open and will not shut on april 3, 2014 i bought this car on may 15, 2014 last week on october 10th my 16yrs old daughter was driving the car and entering to the school parking lot the door open without any reason - contacted ford and after fighting as vehicle even though is only 34000 miles is not longer under warranty they will be fixing my concern is this is the 2nd time same problem is happening to this vehicle and could had end up on a fatality . is ford inspecting the replacement parts or just mending the issue , per online lookup has being at least 76 complains and there has not being a recall yet . *tr

Opened passenger side rear door to put child in car carseat. shut the door, got in and started car. when i started to reverse the door open alert came on. got out of car thinking i just didn't shut the door hard enough. the door would not latch. have not gone to dealership because bumper to bumper warranty is up. from what i have read there is a back order on the part i need to fix it. i have the door tied to the inside of the car and the door open notification constantly comes on as well as the inside lights. luckily i noticed this before pulling off or the situation could have been life threatening for the kids! i hope that ford recognizes this problem and does a recall! *js

The right rear door on our 2011 ford fiesta will not latch. the latching mechanism has failed and will not engage. i am using bungie cords to keep the door closed until i can replace the latch. when i called ford they acted as if this was something that was not common. *tr

Passenger side door latch failed after parking vehicle. door tied shut. never repaired due to high dealer cost. *tr

Rear passenger door latch assembly total failure through normal use. unable to close & secure door. vehicle structural integrity compromised, extreme safety exposure to vehicle's occupants. manufacturer (ford) declined responsibility to remediate problem due to accumulated mileage beyond warranty (36,000 miles). ford dealer used "bungee" cords to hold door closed. ford customer representative encouraged filing compliant with nhtsa saying..."go for it". *tr

In august of 2013 both front and rear door latches on the passenger side stopped latching within one day of each other. our car was kept at the dealership for several weeks and we were charged half of the repair costs after writing letters to ford that this was obviously a manufacturing defect. they would not accept responsibility or pay for the full cost of repairs. on jan 19, 2014, the rear passenger door latch which had been replaced again failed to latch and is currently held closed with a bungee cord. we have not taken the car back to the dealership yet. *tr

Closed rear passenger door after putting a bag in the car. started to back out of parking spot when dash display said "door open." pulled door closed...same thing. got out. door latch had completely failed. i now have door bungied closed for three weeks. contacted ford and was contacted by local dealer. that was two weeks ago. called back on aug. 23, they know nothing or have done nothing. major safety issue. cannot use back seat for passengers at all. *tr

Vehicle was in a minor 'fender bender' during rush hour - stop and go - traffic. airbags did not deploy and damage to the 2011 fiesta ses was fixable. very minimal damage (dent) to car in front of my vehicle. my vehicle went from fixable to igniting and a total loss. *tr

1) fuel leaked unto the ground under the car.. 2) while driving when i reached 60 mph to front end of the car started shaking.. 3) door panel fell apart. *js
