I was driving down the freeway to work at approximately 70 mph when my truck started to shake so bad in the front end i almost took out the vehicle to my left and ended up halfway in the ditch. i had 0 control over my truck
The tailgate at times comes unlatched. i do have a canopy which keeps the tailgate from dropping down all the way. truck only has 10700 miles on it and is still on warranty. i have taken it to the dealer twice, they cannot duplicate the problem, nor find anything wrong. i have called ford customer service 3 times, and have done what they told me to do, but they do not follow through with what they tell me they are going to do. vechicle is in motion, and has happened when pulling my cargo trailer. date below was the last time this happened. i do not drive this vechicle much.
Tailgate opens on its own unexpectedly. it seems like it happens when putting it in gear. never had it happen at much speed. it happens at least once every week or two. seems to happen a lot while backing up. it also happens just sitting there. have it happen with key fob just sitting in the console and nobody touching it.
First happened at 7,000 miles had it worked on now happened at 13,000. front shakes violently after hitting even a small bump, must slow down or would loose control. accures anytime at highway speeds.
My 2017 ford f 350 xlt 4x4 sb has 30,000 miles. on tues. morning my wife and i were driving back to mesa,az. from panguitch, utah. a couple miles into our trip , while driving 55 mph we hit a bumpy area of the road and the truck starting shaking violently, like having a blowout. i had to pull over to see what what was happening. i could see no damage to any tires , so we kept driving and it happened again less than 10 minutes into the drive.. this time i slowed down until i regained control. we did not have any more issues the rest of our trip to mesa. we were pulling a 40 ft. fifth wheel #13,500. at the time. we were just finishing up our summer trip when this happened. this happened about 45 days earlier just outside cheyenne, wy., after reading a lot of similar incidents from other ford owners. i felt that i needed to report this issue
I've experienced a problem twice with my 2017 f350 super duty truck called the "death wobble." at highway speeds hitting an uneven road surface, my truck front wheels begin to shake uncontrollably. i must immediately slow to a stop to end the wobble. my truck has less than 6k miles, so it isn't because of any worn parts. i found out via the internet it is a common problem with ford super duty trucks.
My tailgate opened up while pulling a camper while in a right turn and caused damage to the tailgate and 5th wheel camper which i was towing
On may 24th, 2018 while driving my tailgate automatically came down. i was towing a 5th wheel rv trailer at the time and damage occurred to the tailgate top trim and the rv front garage door. both the trim and the front garage door had to be replaced, plus touchup paint for the tailgate edges.
Experienced 'death wobble' at approximately 58 mph on highway.
2017 f350 back window exploded. the vehicle was stationary, parked in a driveway in a subdivision. i remote started my truck within 5 minutes before i opened the back drivers crew cab door to put a bag on the floor. when i shut the door, the back window exploded as the door closed. the outside temperature was around 23 degrees f. i believe the sudden cab pressure of shutting the door, combined with colder temperatures and a defect in the glass or glass installation is the root cause of the issue.
