Rear defrost was turned on and within seconds the cabin was engulfed in a white smoke and strong electrical fire smell. as i was pulling over, the rear window exploded.

Purchased used 2016 f-150 in oct 2017. shortly after purchase tailgate would randomly open while vehicle was in motion. power tailgate would also open when key fob was used to lock vehicle. tail lights would also illuminate brightly as if brakes were applied when they were not when vehicle was in motion. other times tail lights would flicker on and off when vehicle was in motion. when computer was scanned no trouble codes were found. eventually after several trips to bmw dealership in spokane wa where vehicle was purchased vehicle was taken to wendle ford in spokane wa. at wendle ford technicians found extremely frayed wiring harness in area at rear of truck where bed and frame meet. wendle tech's said that they had never seen this type of damage / defect before, and when checking with ford corporate there were no service bulletins reference this type of problem. this description of events was prompted after reading a news report of ford super duty trucks exhibiting tail gate openings while vehicle in motion. all service notes and documentation can be obtained through wendle ford, spokane wa

Rear glass exploded. rear de-frost turned on, electrical circuit issue caused rear glass to over heat and burn up, along with cold external weather causing very hot glass explosion while driving sending glass pieces everywhere. glass particles very fine and caused scratches and bleeding.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford f-150. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle lost total power as it rumbled and shook. also, various warning indicators illuminated, including the powertrain fault, stability control, air bag, and check service manual. the contact stated that the running board failed to retract. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. the vehicle was towed to ford & lincoln of smithtown (440 jericho turnpike, st james, ny 11780(631) 265-2340), but the cause of the failure could not be duplicated or diagnosed. when the contact retrieved the vehicle several hours later, the failure recurred and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Dual control for the a/c pops up . also had radio not wanting to go off with the key out off the truck and the door open . also had the lights not working for the trailior . also my truck didn't want to go over 5 miles an hour. dealer can find anything wrong with it. what next

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford f-150. the contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning and lost power. the hill decent warning light illuminated. the failure recurred several other times. the vehicle was taken to the cella ford dealer located at 3210 doctor m.l.k. jr blvd, new bern, nc 28562; (252) 638-4011 where the dealer was not able to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted and was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 7,700. the vin was not available.

The vehicle has failed electronically on several instances. generally the center control panel will not come on which means the radio does not work. other times the fan blower will also not come. in the worst instance, none of the lights will come on nor the instrument panel to be able to know how fast i am driving, temperature, alerts, or anything that needs power other than to start/drive the truck. i also noted when i shifted gears on the transmission, it did not indicate what gear/driving mode the vehicle was actually in. this has occurred on no less than a half down instances. the dealer has not been able to replicate the issue as it is intermittent since i purchased the vehicle brand new off the lot. it has not occurred after everything is already operational while driving, only at startup/ignition point. i have attempted to reset it multiple times by turning the vehicle off/on and removing the key from the ignition but it does not seem to solve the problem as it randomly comes about and then randomly goes away. it does not appear to be affected by bumps (loose wire) or even tapping the dash to see if anything changes. i have also pulled the main fuses that control these areas and found no problems with the fuses. resetting the entire system did not also have an affect by disconnecting the battery but did work in one instance however it did not in others.

I have taken my 2016 ford f-150 in to have the radio fixed three time, because when i go to start my truck the radio doesn't power up. it has just a blank screen. it is an intermittent problem, but ford has refused to fix the problem. i have seen multiple complaints online over the same problem. ford is not assisting me in resolving the problem and i was told by them to contact you.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford f-150. the contact stated that the vehicle independently downshifted after the brake pedal was depressed. the contact stated that the failure occurred only when the vehicle was in the tow haul setting. the vehicle was taken to bill macdonald ford (1200 s carney dr, st clair, mi) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a software update. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred numerous times. the manufacturer was notified, but a remedy was not offered. the failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

Purchased my 2016 ford f150, brand new. during cold temperatures the door locks do not unlock and if you are able to get unlocked the doors do not lock nor latch. if in the event i was in traveling in cold temperatures, i would be locked in my vehicle cause a safety concern for my two infants and wife and i. spoke to ford manufacturer and ford service dept, they are aware of the issue and there is a back order of parts, since january of 2017, when i started have issues with my vehicle. i am seeking legal advice in getting vehicle bought back from ford company, minus depreciation.

First all the steering wheels controls (including turn signals) didn't work. the next time i started the truck everything worked again. the following week i took the truck into local dealer to determine cause. they said there communication errors but did some re-programming. drove truck home and when i turned into my driveway i received a message the parking brake had an error. took it back to same dealer and they kept it two days and could not find the problem.

Ongoing issue with door latches not operating when temperatures are below freezing. the door will not latch unless the door is locked. it seems it then is unable to be unlocked remotely or by power locks. only way is to manually open the door from inside the cab. i have a safety concern ofn this issue as the door not latching may open while in motion.

In about january of 2017, while still under warranty, my truck started experiencing irregular function of the sync iii system. in about march of 2017 the system stopped functioning properly at any time. at that time it had about 37,000 miles on it. by the time i could get it to the ford dealer it had about 39,000 miles. ford denied any obligation to repair. some of the major reasons i purchased the vehicle were to abilities of the sync iii system such as: (1) the gps map system and the ability to input destinations and receive driving instructions, (2) the hands free blue tooth telephone connections, (3) the backup camera, and the touch screen menu. all of these were important safety features. none of them work and ford wanted $1,500.00 to replace the "apim" module, which purportedly would make it work again. in addition, while backing in to a parking place, in about november of 2017, i could not see a pole set in concrete because of malfunction of the camera, and backed into it, damaging my bumper to the tune of about $1,200.00 replacement cost. worse yet, that could have been a child or other person. occasionally the backup camera works, but stays on while driving down the street.

(1)i purchased my truck in january, 2017. (2)on monday, feb. 6, 2017 ' i noted the first electric issues as the truck provided a warning indicator that my brake fluid was low. later in the day, the indicator went away. (3)on wednesday, feb. 8, 2017, the electric error messages reappeared. i called the ford service hotline in the morning and was told to take the truck to a qualified ford service shop. (4)later in the day on 2/8/17 (around lunch) ' i took the truck to ford service shop. at that time, the service tech performed a 'factory-reset' (his term) of the battery. after performing the reset ' i was cleared to leave dealer and i left the service area. (5)i then exited the service compound. after leaving the service shop, my truck shut off in the middle of an intersection. after several attempts to jump the truck with a jump box, the truck was towed back to ford dealership for another service. my truck was kept for several days for further service. (6)on friday, march 3, 2017, the electric warnings manifested again. i immediately took the truck to ford for service. upon arriving at service station, the warning lights had turned off. the service tech tried multiple times to trigger the error, but it did not come back on. i was instructed to leave and come back when they came back on. i left the service area. (7)a short time later, the warnings came back on and i returned to the service center. this time the warning lights remained on and my truck was immediately taken for service.

Door locks may not function in sub freezing weather meaning your doors may not lock or you may be trapped inside as they will not unlock

On january 10 2017, at approximately 7:45 a.m. after dropping off my 3 kids at school, the rear window on my 2016 ford f-150 exploded and shattered after the rear window defroster was activated.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford f-150. when the contact attempted to roll down the front passenger and driver side windows, the windows would suddenly go up. the contact called koons ford of baltimore (located at 6970 security blvd, windsor mill, md 21244, 410-298-3800), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the approximate failure mileage was 33,000. the vin was unknown.

Just bought our truck 3 weeks ago and the rear-camera went out. frought it into the dealer and they found that the camera harness was chewed by a rodent and had to replace the harness. per messages off the website, found that all wire harnesses in ford trucks and other vehicles, have a soy coating on them that attracts rodents. if this is happening to all vehicles now of days, they better find a different way to coat wires in all vehicles. major problem and very costly. it will run us $1800.00 for the fix and its a brand new truck.

Today when i turned on the rear window defogger in my 2012 ford f150 the indicator light did not come on. after three or four tries it came on. within minutes i heard a pop and the glass on passenger side of the rear slider popped. the glass is in tact but broken.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. while the vehicle was stationary, fumes entered the cabin of the vehicle from the air conditioning system. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the failure mileage was 17,000. updated 01/05/2017*ct

2016 ford f-150 2.7l ecoboost model with only 3,928 miles. this is the third time engine has cut off on me while driving/accelerating! was taking a left turn from side road onto main road. while accelerating in the turn, engine started stuttering a few times (rpms would dip) and then it stalled out. luckily i was able to complete my left hand turn without getting hitting by oncoming traffic and was able to pull over immediately. this time around the engine would not restart. had to call ford's roadside assistance to get towed to nearest dealership. the last two instances the dealer could not pull a code or diagnose what was wrong so nothing was done. this time the dealership has a dead truck on arrival so they can't tell me that there is nothing wrong with it (service and diagnostics has yet to be completed at the time of this writing). i have been in touch with ford regional rep regarding my cases and i am told they cannot do anything until the dealer can diagnose what the root cause is. obviously something is wrong. there are dozens of other complaints of engine stalling while driving.

Tl* the contact owned a 2016 ford f-150. the driver was alerted to an abnormal burning odor. upon inspection, the driver observed flames coming from the fuse box of the vehicle. minutes later, the vehicle was engulfed in flames. the fire department extinguished the fire and a police report was filed. the vehicle was destroyed and towed to the salvage yard. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Vehicle looses power without warning during routine driving and cannot be recovered. warnings on dashboard display show "service advancetrac" and "hill start assist" along with all engine warning lights. pressing down on gas pedal does nothing, must pull over and turn off ignition and turn back on to restore power. happens numerous times and randomly. occurred when driving on highway at 70mph and while on side streets at 45mph. below is a link to video of the behavior. vehicle is 2016 ford f150 purchased brand new with no previous issues and 7700 miles. https://1drv.ms/f/s!ahzq4p0k1fqii7u1moy63ityroiqfg

Was stopped at red light in greensboro nc. light turned green and i started to drive straight through the intersection when there was a complete loss of throttle response. i had to finish going through the intersection by momentum of the vehicle and gravity since there was no power. fortunately there was no one else at the intersection or i'm sure i would have been hit. was told by local ford dealer, green ford, problem was a defective "throttle body". 2nd ford vehicle i have been in, in less than a month, that this has happened (2015 f150-same defect - throttle body). huge concern for safety of those of us who drive fords.

Driving down the highway, doing about 60 to 65 mph, noticed that i was slowing down slightly, went to give it more gas, looked down at the dashboard and realized that the engine wasn't on (no rpms on tachometer). the screen on the dashboard had a service warning for the parking brake with a lightning bolt idiot light on (not sure what it was, didn't get the chance to look in the manual). i don't know if the power steering/brakes went out, since i was moving fast enough to steer fairly easily, and i'm strong enough to press a brake pedal. after i got it pulled over, i put it in park, tried to start it again, wasn't able to. called roadside assistance, got a tow truck. notice the screen that has stuff like clock, temp, date, media info was stuck at the time it shutoff. no other electrical systems seemed to work, i.e. power windows, emergency flashers, ignition. was also locked in park, couldn't get it into neutral for the tow truck. after it got onto the tow truck, the exterior lights flashed while driving to the dealership to service it, got to dealer and when it came time to get it off the truck, it started right back up again, didn't appear to have any service messages show up. brand new truck, about 1100 miles on it, no accidents, no off-roading, haven't even changed the oil yet, haven't touched anything under the hood besides the oil dipstick. at the dealership, nothing seemed to be loose under the hood (electrical wise). attached is a picture similar to what i saw (again, 65 on the highway, not really an ideal time for documentation).

Owned 2016 f150 since may 2016. been in shop 6x now for electrical problems. replaced fuel pump multiple times, and powertrain control module, still no power from 7 pt. wiring harness to camper. apparently others are having the same problem - "i am also having this same problem on my new 2016; no 12v power at the 7 pin trailer plug. i have a dual port 12 volt power adapter that plugs in the 7 pin plug to run 12v accessories like a small air compressor etc. (like this https://www.amazon.ca/reese-towpower...204460_te_item) i just tried it yesterday for the first time and it had no power. i bench tested the adapter and it is working. when looking at the plug at the back of the truck, the negative (-) is at the 1 oclock postion and postive (+) is at the 7 oclock. i put a multi meter on those trailer plug pins with the truck running and no power. on the dash computer i entered that i had my trailer hooked up and still no 12v at those two pins. the turn signals (pins at 9 oclock and 3 oclock respectively) and running lights (pin at 5 oclock) has 12v power.the tech came out with a shop made board they have for checking trailer wiring. with the truck running, trailer connected on the dash and even added a "new" trailer still no power! he plugged in the shop computer and could not see what the problem is. so the dealership it stumped. they will be "calling detroit" to see if they have a solution. so, turn signals work, running lights work, brakes work but not 12v dc. so, if you have a camper, while driving you will not have power for your fridge or interior camper lights, charging camper battery etc.contacted ford, they recommended filing a complaint with you

On multiple occasions the power steering, turn signals, 4x4, and lights went out. the dealer has been unable to solve the problem after multiple service visits. they told me to wait till it goes out again. most of the time, when the electrical system goes out, it is when i first start the car. one time, the system went out while i was merging into traffic and i nearly wrecked the vehicle.
