During temperatures below freezing (32 f) one or more of the door locks and/or latches will freeze and become inoperable. power lock buttons will not function to unlock the door and door handles will not open the doors (from the outside). doors have to be unlocked from the inside, by manually cycling the pull knob multiple times to loosen the frozen lock. frozen door latches are only able to be opened from the inside (using the inside handles). at times, the frozen door locks and latches will not re-secure the doors and the doors will not lock or the latch will not secure and the door will remain unsecured/open and/or unlocked. spoke to dealer about this issue in feb. 2016 and was advised that ford issued a temporary fix for the issue and a permanent fix would be coming in the next 90 days. checked back with the dealer in the end of may 2016 - was advised that ford still has not issued a permanent fix for the door lock/latch issue and they could give me no further information - other than the temporary fix that ford issued over the winter only seemed to be a partial solution and was not a permanent fix. i find this to be a significant problem and defect for any new ford f150 being driven in a northern climate. having doors that are unable to be opened from the outside presents a safety issue as well as having door locks that are frozen shut and have to be manually manipulated from the inside in order to release the lock. additionally, the fact that the doors and locks may not re-secure the door when closed, leaves you not knowing if you vehicle is locked or if your doors will come open while driving. in addition to being extremely frustrating, this is certainly a safety issue for owners of new f150's as the doors may not be able to be opened or unlocked during below freezing temp.'s. the truck is now one year old and still no fix/solution from ford.

My 2015 ford f150 truck has inoperative frozen door latches.i have waited 6-8 weeks for the parts to come in. ive had many occasions ive had to bungee my door somewhat closed to get my family home.i cannot get into my truck and when i do i cannot get the door to shut because of the inoperative door latches. i had it at a ford dealership for a frozen door latch, inoperative tsb (16-0155) on 1/6/17. on 1/7/17 i went out to my truck and i cannot get into it even with the tsb work done the day before. they replaced some updated parts and cleaned and lubed the latches.i also have windows that freeze shut with no snow or ice holding them shut. these are major safety issues ! i have a few video recordings of me trying to get into my truck with no luck and have stopped to my dealer with a bugee holding the passenger door from opening with my 2 yr old son in the back. ive been dealing with these problems since new.

At temperatures below 32 degrees fahrenheit, the door locks and lock mechanisms will intermittently freeze in an opened or closed position. at times, doors will not stay shut when attempts are made to close them from the inside; this occurs on all 4 doors. when the vehicle is in motion, the doors have opened, requiring the passenger and/or driver to physically hold the door closed. the problem has been inspected by the local ford dealer, however they stated that ford has not released a reliable remedy for the problem. other customers had their vehicles in repair for the same reason.

Bought f150 in fall of 2015, first few days of cold weather my back passengers doors would not close. they just kept bouncing back at me. did that a few times didn't think that much about it. next fall season of 2016 i haven't been able to open my rear doors on my 55,000 vehicle for the past 4 months. now my tailgate won't open up either! what a joke. took it to ford dealer and told me it would be at least 1 month before parts would come in there on back order! so ford knows about the problem but won't do anything about it. salesman offered me some rope to tie the doors shut so they wouldn't open up!!!!!!!! how about that for a safety concern. $55,000 vehicle and they offer me rope to keep my doors closed. i can't put me kids on the truck can't use my vehicle for ways i intended for the past 5 months yet i keep paying my payments of this. what a joke. just tried to open my tailgate yesterday and the lock mechanism isn't even triggering the lock in the tailgate, its seized up can't use that now either. someone needs to do something about this.

In below freezing temperatures i was unable to open both of my rear doors from the inside or out. i had to crawl over the seat and manual unlock the door. i am concerned for the safety of my young child should the doors fail and i need to remove her in an emergency.

During below freezing conditions drivers door will not close, will not lock or unlock. ford has issued a technical service bulletin, tsb 15-0052, but the ford service dept. says it does not fix the problem. not really safe driving the truck with one arm holding the door closed for several months of the year. ford service claims there is nothing they can do unless ford issues a recall action with a real fix. *tr

The image in the driver side rear view is distorted into dual or blurred image. it is difficult to capture while moving, but is, escalated when multiple vehicles and lanes are present. escalated even further in inclement and night driving conditions. the spot mirror is integrated with the main rearview mirror further distracting the driver from the road ahead as well as points to the same line of horizon that proves to be both driver and passenger rearview mirrors, making side and rear safety cushion observation ineffective and inefficient. many citizens install pick up bed truck caps to protect their belongings. the design of these mirrors alone is detrimental to safety observation. add in defective performance sits on the slope of reckless endangerment. which brings me to the indented signaling programed into the turn indicators. this indented feature promotes unsafe turning/lane change maneuvers. using the 100 ft. rule. it is impossible complete a safe lane change and share the road with other drivers in the time allotted 3 flashes. three before , three during and three after is pushing a less experienced driver. none the less is the accepted courteous driver rule, not to mention the rule of law. at the very least this mirror should have a warning of poor visual when installing truck cap and dealer should be required to warn prospect thereof. as well as the manufacturer needs to offer an optional application. safe cars save lives. this photo examines the defect occurring at center angle of mirror. the defect is more pronounced moving towards the edge. but definitely occurs before the line caused by auto dimming film. ( unable to upload photo) but available on request. update! 5/11/2017 as of now i am allowing fomco to repair and replace this defective mirror. i still believe it to be a safety design flaw and should be removed upon verification of towing intention.

My 2015 ford f 150 has been in the shop 6 times for repair of the moonroof that won't open, sticks, broken mechanism, or makes loud noise (popping sound) when it tries tom open. it has now developed a water leak that drips from the sliding rear window switch which may cause a short circuit. this problem happens at all vehicle modes. this problem started 4 months after purchasing the vehicle in 2015 and has continues to present day. vehicle currently has 26+k miles. there are numerous complaints on the web about the same issue (s).

Frame has welds that missed their target.dealer rewelded one and ignored another. the frame also showed streaks of rust where section were overlapped. less than a month of owning it, a few hundred miles and no road salt exposure.

2015 ford f-150. consumer writes in regards to sun roof rattles/popping noise issues. consumer states dealership refuses to buy back vehicle. *smd the consumer stated after purchasing the vehicle, he noticed a problem with the roof, weather stripping and the paint was peeling. the dealer replaced the weather stripping, repainted the roof of the cab. ford engineers did not know how to correct the popping noise. *jb

2015 ford f-150. consumer writes in regards to airbag problems, ignition problems and vehicle tires issues. *smd the consumer stated the a/c blew out hot air, the transmission was jerky when he applied the brake, then the accelerator. when the vehicle was first started, there was a loud grinding/growling noise coming from underneath the vehicle by the driver front wheel, there was excessive cabin noise, and tire noise. the electric engine fan came on when the vehicle was sitting outside in the heat, the undercarriage was showing signs of corrosion. water was leaking through the driver assist handle grip near the windshield. *jb

2015 ford f-150 manual on page 263 has instructions for proper setup of an equalizing hitch for towing a trailer. the instructions call for return of the front fender height 25% of the way from height when loaded with trailer to height with no trailer. this is the opposite of recommendations of the hitch manufacturer who recommends front fender height to 75% of the way from loaded to unloaded condition. in the words of the hitch manufacturer "why would you put on an equalizing hitch and not set it up to do what it's intended to do?". the result of the instructions in the ford manual would be inadequate equalization, and therefore loss of steering with a resulting potential for accident. i think this is just a typo, but have been unable to find anyone at ford who will listen and find someone technical enough to check it out. *tr

Drivers side sideview mirror glass is loose and will shake going over bumps or driving at highway speeds. during particularly high wind, bumpy highway travel, it can be extremely difficult to discern what you are seeing in the mirror, making it very difficult and unsafe to perform lane changes. this has been described by ford motor company as an "unfavorable characteristic of the vehicle".

Drivers side door will not latch when temperature drops below 32 degrees due to faulty door latch. while travelling down the road the drivers door will swing open unless held shut by driver or other mechanical means. we have contacted ford and they confirm a problem and since issued a tsb.
