Dt: the contact states was driving 72 mph with the cruise control on when he started to go downhill, the vehicle accelerated to 85 mph. at that time, he pressed the brakes and deactivated the cruise control. this happened two more times, and he took the vehicle to the dealership. two different dealerships and the manufacturer stated it is the way the vehicle was designed. *ak updated11/29/05. *jb

Dt: 2005 ford f150. when reversing then going forward the vehicle surges forward. it feels like the cruise control kicks in and it is hard to stop. took the vehicle to the dealership at least 7 times. he talked to a different manager each time. the consumer almost went off of a cliff. this happened the first time the day of purchase. he took the vehicle back the following monday and the dealership reprogrammed the chip in the accelerator. the problem recurred. the dealership stated they could not duplicate the problem. he has called ford, and after they contacted the engineers, he was told there was nothing they could do. he would have to take it back to the dealership. it has happened at 7 times.*ak

Dt: the consumer stated 2005 ford f150 surged forward. it felt like cruise control kicked in. he took the vehicle to dealer, and dealership called ford, and they had the accelerator chip realigned. after the vehicle was fixed the surging continued. he continued to contact the dealership and ford. according to customer service the engineers said they could not find anything wrong with it. consumer was currently afraid to drive the vehicle, so was sitting in the driveway. the vehicle was taken in last week, and they kept it for a week, and they stated they could not find anything wrong with it. on the way home transmission slipped and surged forward. dealership and the manufacturer kept telling him to call the other. consumer stated vehicle has been at dealership at least five times, and got a different service manager every time. the problem started the night he purchased the vehicle. *ak

Dt: 2005 ford f150 4 door quad cab. the consumer experienced sudden acceleration on 2 separate occasions. the last incident the consumer crashed into a building. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f150. the contact experienced rapid acceleration whenever he came to a complete stop. he had to use both feet on the brake pedal and shift into neutral gear to slow the vehicle down. the dealer stated that there were no problems with the vehicle. the ford manufacturer was notified and they stated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. the failure mileage was 53,000.

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 ford f-150. while driving 70 mph, the contact released the accelerator pedal, however, the rpm would not decrease until the brakes were applied. if the brakes were not applied, the rpm would drop a half mile later. the dealer stated that there was no failure. the failure mileage was 5,000 and current mileage was 27,000. the consumer stated that when the car is started the rpm goes to 1400rpm when the ignition is off it returns to 0. updated 11/06/07 *tr
